Chapter 1150: Mutual Attachment
Chapter 1150: Mutual Attachment
If he hadn't known that the other's Mental Power was unable to be mobilized, Rossard would not have chosen to confront him directly but would have adopted a different tactic.
"What is this...?"
While he was pinned to the ground, Cavinton's body, which had been blasted open with a large hole, was rapidly healing.
During this process, an extremely peculiar Field emanated from him, causing his Mutated Tissue to feel a burning sensation.
His pupils suddenly dilated.
Before the establishment of Central City, he had participated in multiple operations to hunt down the entities on the other side. That was a bloody and unforgettable past, and he would never mistake this feeling. It was something from the other side!
In that instant, he understood. He raised his head, his gaze fixed on the other side.
He couldn't speak, as his body was numb, but his eyes conveyed his meaning.
You allowed Him to attach!
"Looks like you understand?"
Cavinton's eyes moved, and he gave him a strange, stiff smile, then added meaningfully, "No, you still don't understand."
The three individuals who had been imprisoned had appeared to break through from different directions, but they had been communicating all along. He didn't know much about the Former Emperor, who didn't respond to him at all.
However, because he had once ingested a certain Forbidden Relic, he could directly communicate with the entity on the other side through the Field.
The entity had given him a portion of its power, which he absorbed and digested. This power allowed his spirit to communicate with the other side, even though he couldn't reach the other world, and it also reactivated his previously dried and withered Mutated Tissue, restoring some of his original abilities.
Rossard suddenly realized that the other entity's power could be introduced into his own Bodies and used without being controlled, and he could still maintain his original consciousness. This led him to consider a possibility.
He uttered a strained voice, "The Fusion Sect...?"
Cavinton's grayish-white eyes fixed on him, and he said, "Yes. I am a Governor, and I don't want to abandon my duties. Since I chose to ingest that Forbidden Relic, it means I had confidence in doing so!
I wanted to try this to gain the ability to consume the entities on the other side, to find a path we can use!
When we can eat 'Them' as food, we won't need to fear 'Them' anymore. We can find a new way out, but you fools destroyed my plan!
No, not you, not you who destroyed it, but you who indulged me in doing this. You provided these things to me, waited for me to walk this path, and then captured me, treating me as a test subject!
You had a premeditated plan!"
He suddenly showed an incredibly angry expression, and the white Spirituality fire around him flickered, causing Rossard, who was close by, to feel more intense pain, even blurring his vision.
At this moment, the anger on Cavinton's face suddenly disappeared, and he smiled strangely, "But this is for the better. Without these, how would I have had the chance to obtain what I have now?"
As he spoke, Rossard finally managed to break free from the mental intimidation.
Although he had not yet reached the level of a Throne Fighter, he had been a Gou Dou Jia for over a hundred years and had never stopped improving himself. Even though he was still at the Secret Temple Level, he was on the verge of a breakthrough, and his Mutated Tissue had become extremely resilient.
At that moment, a massive figure condensed in the air above him, instantly enveloped in orange-yellow flames, and then delivered a powerful punch downward. Cavinton tried to retreat, but Rossard grabbed him.
Boom!
The massive fist descended, striking Cavinton, who only crouched down and managed to withstand it. However, this was just the beginning. More fists rained down like a torrent, and the two spiritual flames collided and dissipated, with orange-yellow and pale-white flames spreading outward, and the ground shook continuously.
Rossard did not remain stationary either. After taking a deep breath, he joined the attack.
He continuously and rapidly punched the figure in front of him, no longer sparing his strength but unleashing it without restraint.
He knew that the other's power had not yet fully recovered. Even though the mental defect had been compensated, he could only obtain some Energy from a small gap, far from reaching his peak state. Therefore, as long as he caused enough damage, he could still bring him down!
This opportunity was extremely rare, and if he didn't seize it, he would be the one to fall!
The fierce punches from both sides fell like a storm, each strike like a giant cannonball hitting the ground, expelling all the air and causing the ground to tremble. The shaking was so intense that even the White Rock Long Hall and the various Visitor Camps could clearly feel it, while the sky above Central City echoed with continuous, deafening booms.
The situation in the White Rock Long Hall had become unclear, with only waves of white light visible. When a powerful Gou Dou Jia unleashed their full strength, the surrounding Fields almost ceased to exist, except for the combatants themselves.
In fact, if not for the restraints of the Ritual forces, the mere aftermath of their power would have leveled this entire area.
Even so, the members of the Expert Ritual Group were sweating profusely as they hid within the sturdy fortress, maintaining the Ritual. Behind them, people continuously poured supplemental materials into the Cross Wells, which were being consumed at an alarming rate. More materials were added to keep the Ritual from breaking.
Cavinton's body didn't seem to last long under the bombardment. His newly restored form was once again shattered, making it hard to discern his entire being.
However, Rossard felt no joy; his heart sank deeper instead. The highly corrosive Mental Power hadn't disappeared, and the ghastly white Spirituality light, though scattered, still surrounded them.
But he didn't stop. Instead, he intensified his attacks, as if trying to squeeze every bit of Energy out of his body.
After countless punches, when he threw another one, he found it firmly blocked by a hand, preventing it from moving any further.
He opened his eyes and saw the outline of a "person" formed by a blinding light, yet not purely light. Shattered flesh and tissue fragments clung to the outside.
The hand blocking his punch extended from this form, and more flesh pieces floated through the air, merging with it. Strands of Mutated Tissue connected and grew rapidly.
At the same time, he felt a powerful Mental Power surge into his body. If the previous force had merely immobilized him, now he seemed to lose his ability to think, collapsing to his knees.
Even his Spirit Phase above him was frozen in place.
The light figure stood before him, and as more scattered flesh clung to the light, a face gradually emerged. The eyes opened, and the grayish-white pupils moved, fixing on him.
"Dayer, I should thank you. Without your cooperation, I couldn't have done this myself."
As he spoke, a gray-black stone slowly emerged from his brow, falling to the ground with a thud. It had visible cracks, and after a while, another one dropped.
Rossard's vision was blurry, but when he saw this, his heart still trembled. He recognized it as a Banned Relic, specifically designed to constrain Mental Power. How could it break free on its own?
And without it...
The Holes in Cavinton's brow gradually healed. He opened his hands and the numerous arms on his back, feeling more power flow from another world into him.
The Sealed Hall had restrained his Mental Power with these two Relics. However, when he allowed Rossard to shatter him, his spirit was already weakened. Without a body to anchor it, even if the remaining flesh could regenerate, it would take time, leaving him almost defenseless.
But by consuming that existence's power, his spirit could temporarily attach to the other's spirit, effectively discarding his own for a moment. Without a host, the Relics lost their effectiveness.
Even after reshaping his body, these Relics would still be inside him, but unless the Ritual was performed again, they wouldn't function as before.
Of course, this was all contingent on that existence allowing him to borrow its power. He convinced the other side by promising to restore his strength and carry it to freedom.
He would keep his word, because if the Mental Power above him withdrew, he would be locked back in the cell. The only chance was to tear open a rift and escape to the Convergence Ground or the other world. Even with a part of that existence's power, he lacked the strength to do so; he had to wait for the other to recover.
He felt the Ritual forces still hindering his spirit, but once the obstacle before him was removed, nothing would stand in his way.
He slowly lowered his head, looking at the half-kneeling Rossard, and slowly clenched his fist. The arms on his back mirrored the action, and a ghastly white light gathered on them.
Then, he struck with a punch!
