Chapter 1142: Poop Scooper Unleashed
Chapter 1142: Poop Scooper Unleashed
One had to admit—the coordination of Red-Haired Shanks' crew was exceptional.
Almost instantly, his officers reacted, using Unified Haki to hold their ground against anyone for a few exchanges. Those brief moments were enough for Beckman or Red-Haired Shanks themselves to intervene. When two Conqueror's Haki-wielders crashed into combat, anyone caught in their wake would feel their scalp prickle.
At this level, battles revealed their essence in an instant.
Even with the Four Divine Beasts Mystic Art in its current condition, breaking through their defense was no easy feat—they could withstand such onslaughts.
No wonder they were Four Emperors. No wonder they'd resisted Kaido last time.
Fighting them head-on would be a Pyrrhic victory—winning brought nothing tangible. Kaido was mad, not stupid.
Only a fool would lock horns with Shanks directly.
Kuro?
He was purely fighting for face now—like a pile of stinking dung on the road. Years ago, you’d simply step over it, endure the stench, and move on. But now, this turd had grown taller and fouler, reaching a point where cleansing was unavoidable. Even passing by risked contaminating your shoes.
So the Poop Scooper had to step in.
Red-Haired Shanks stood on his skiff, smirking at Kuro hovering in midair. “How’s that? My crew’s strength impressive enough for you?”
Beckman instinctively lit a cigarette. “You won’t find an opening.”
Their coordination truly had no gaps.
Victory wasn’t the goal here. Facing a skyborne governor like Kuro, winning was no easy task—especially without a ship.
But victory wasn’t their objective. Their mission was to delay Kuro. Survive a few days, then withdraw.
Even holding him off for a single day meant victory—they’d bought time for Luffy.
Kuro understood this perfectly. The longer the stalemate dragged, the more it symbolized his own defeat.
“Tsk,” Kuro sighed, eyeing them with cold amusement. “Don’t grow too smug before the deed’s done. Arrogance invites tragedy.”
“I simply have confidence in my comrades,” Red-Haired Shanks replied, grinning. “They say we’re the Navy’s most balanced Iron Wall among the Four Emperors. Dislike it as I might, the analysis isn’t wrong.” He shrugged.
He held the terrain advantage, but their Yonko crew was a Great Pirate force—officers with power, seamless synergy. Breaking through wasn’t simple.
“True,” Kuro admitted, “I wouldn’t dare provoke you so recklessly on land.”
He wouldn’t dare summon Continent from the skies either—its cataclysmic crash might bury them in Aokiji’s Ice Age, or worse, provide a battlefield advantage. The open sea was ideal.
“But this is the sea.”
Kuro ascended higher, looming over Shanks’ crew, his gaze sharpening. “Let me teach you—this is the Navy.”
“Navy how?” Shanks chuckled.
Kuro slowly opened his wristwatch Transponder Snail, dialing a number. “The Navy means the Grand Line’s greatest influence. It means overwhelming numbers. It means we have allies too—Lida.”
“Here we go!”
A voice boomed from Golden Lion’s sky broadcast. Lida’s maiden form descended in a blur, her Moonstep unleashing extreme speed as she materialized above Kuro’s rear.
“A White Whale?”
Red-Haired Shanks glanced up. “Everyone in the Grand Line knows her. She’s tightly protected—can’t even get scratched. Girl, better retreat. If you get injured, your superior’ll throw a tantrum.”
Kuro’s brow furrowed, fixing Shanks with a piercing stare. “You think I’m playing games? Have past battles been too easy? Has everyone in the Grand Line been stroking your ego, making you believe your core’s untouchable?”
Gripping his Yokai Blade, he murmured, “Forcing me into this form means spilling blood for real!”
Beckman instinctively frowned, sensing something off. Lida was behind Kuro, yet he’d positioned himself in front—protecting her? Or…
“Make some noise, Lida,” Kuro commanded.
“Understood. When I called you, I siphoned physical strength from the unconscious Navy men and Klah’s crew.”
Lida grinned, baring white teeth, then inhaled deeply. Clenching her right fist, she drew it back with a tremendous force, her stance mimicking a punch about to launch.
Beckman narrowed his eyes—the posture was eerily familiar. But at this distance, even a punch—
“Wrong!”
Realization struck. Beckman’s eyes widened in disbelief as a faint white glow began radiating from Lida’s fist.
“That stance… Whitebeard!!” he roared. “Watch for the shockwave!!”
“Heaven-Shaking Earth-Shattering!!”
The moment he shouted, Lida unleashed her punch downward, the Haki-type Devil Fruit’s accumulated shockwave erupting as a blinding white arc. The very air rippled, sea water around Shanks’ crew exploding outward in all directions. Unlike Kuro’s tidal waves, this shockwave was omnidirectional, destabilizing even the air itself. Officers flailed helplessly, thrown off balance.
Beckman stamped his foot, stabilizing himself on the skiff, instinctively raising his gun. But where he aimed, countless Black Gun shots erupted—a wall of bullets. Lida’s aura retreated rapidly, clearly fleeing.
Whoosh!
A crimson slash streaked toward Red-Haired Shanks. He steadied himself mid-air, cleaving his rapier through the crimson arc.
Clang!
The Yokai Blade, struck by his rapier, vibrated violently, spinning backward through the air.
Only the blade.
The blade was a physical entity—but where was Kuro?
Shanks and Beckman’s brows furrowed. Then they sensed it—turning instinctively.
Behind them.
Where their officers clustered.
Amid the lingering shockwave, their men barely steadied themselves when a crimson blur pierced their formation.
Kuro appeared among them barehanded, feet hovering over the sea, hands spread wide—left foot slightly ahead. A smirk tugged his lips as he tilted his head, meeting Shanks’ and Beckman’s gazes.
“Creating an opening—my subordinates aren’t useless either.”
The spinning Yokai Blade halted mid-air, suspended by Kuro’s ability.
“Hey, without your blade, are you mocking me?”
Red-Haired Shanks hadn’t even finished the word ‘play’ when crimson ribbons—decorative yet ominous—swirled around Kuro.
“I warned you—get out of my way, Red-Haired Shanks!”
Kuro’s eyes blazed with cold light. “Final Mystic Art.”
Time to scoop up some of this stinking pile!
