The main force on the Dragon Markers' side is naturally the orphan of Tong Shiyeh, Satellite City's Superman, Yusei Fudo. This time, Yusei faces his good friend Akio Kuroyanagi without holding back. The two engage in a fierce battle, with Yusei unleashing the long-lost Duel King Technique: Mouth Cannon. With a barrage of words, he convinces Kuroyanagi that he never betrayed him to the Security Bureau, and the two reconcile their differences.
Of course, reconciliation doesn't stop Kuroyanagi from being sent to the afterlife by Yusei's Savior Star Dragon. Yes, the Savior Star Dragon—Yusei's newly printed ace. She spends her days pining for Jack alongside the other two harem members, only to be met with Jack's famous line at the end: "I want to become the world champion; women are just a hindrance." It's a stark reminder that she was once just one step away from a different outcome.
It's hard to believe the writers weren't targeting someone with this.
Regardless, Jack's actions truly exemplify what it means to be a duelist who doesn't take a romantic partner, making him a role model for us all.
Rook, with the help of his brother Ryuga, also manages to defeat the Dark Marker he faces and successfully unseals the Ancient Fairy Dragon in the Fairy Realm.
Finally, Akiza faces an international superstar model, Kiri. Kiri, believing that her brother was killed by the witch Akiza, falls into the ranks of the Dark Markers and seeks revenge. However, Akiza is unaware of this, as her brother was actually killed by Devien.
Thanks to the crucial information provided by Yuuki, Akiza is able to take the initiative in this battle. Using Yuuki's evidence, she quickly convinces Kiri that she is not the murderer, and the misunderstanding is cleared.
Of course, the mastermind behind the Dark Markers, Yeshen, isn't about to let his pawn off so easily. Seeing that the two are about to reconcile, he takes over Kiri's consciousness and attempts to continue the fight.
However, despite his lofty status, Yeshen's dueling skills are quite poor. In the original story, he never wins a single battle when he takes over, making it clear that he is both weak and meddlesome.
Thus, Akiza wins this battle more easily than in the original, defeating the Dark Marker Kiri.

“That’s what I wanted to say,” Youxuan said calmly. “I also need to figure out whether you are the Dark Marker Rudger Godwin or the Skeleton Knight Rudger Godwin through this Duel.”
