Chapter 1135: The Honeymoon
Chapter 1135: The Honeymoon
Early the next morning, Isabelle opened her eyes, still feeling like the wedding from the day before had been a dream.
She turned her head to look at the handsome boy sleeping soundly beside her and gently caressed his youthful face. Starting today, Albert was officially and legally her husband, truly hers.
Those pretty girls with ulterior motives would have to give up now.
As a woman herself, Isabelle understood that there were certain things women would not compromise on, and no one wanted to be a secret mistress. So, those girls had no chance.
Although they had never stood a chance from the beginning, men could make mistakes, and the fact that he was always on someone's mind still bothered her a little.
"Hmm, good morning."
Albert mumbled sleepily as he opened his eyes and covered his yawn.
"Good morning. It's time to get up," Isabelle said, tucking her hair behind her ear and propping herself up to give Albert a gentle kiss on the forehead.
"I'm so sleepy. Let's stay in bed a little longer," Albert said, his eyelids feeling heavy as he wanted to catch a few more winks.
"Well, we don't have anything important to do today anyway."
The traditional rituals were canceled since their families had already left, so on their first day as a married couple, they began their honeymoon journey.
"Get up and have something to eat first. You must be hungry," Isabelle said as she gently pushed Albert. Seeing that he didn't respond, she reached under the covers and woke him up, who was about to fall back asleep.
"Really," Albert muttered, "You're bolder than I thought."
The girl was wearing only a thin, beige sleepwear, and after meeting Albert's gaze, she showed no sign of shyness. She hugged him from behind and softly suggested, "If you're still tired, we can go back to sleep after eating. Bitt should have breakfast ready by now."
"I am a little hungry," Albert admitted.
He covered another yawn and vigorously rubbed his cheeks to wake himself up. His eyes fell on the girl's slender, white legs, as graceful as lotus roots. Then, a sleepwear was thrown over her head, and by the time he pulled it down, Isabelle had already changed into a new set of sleepwear and was tying the sash.
"So, you can be shy too!" Albert mumbled, feeling a bit disappointed that he hadn't gotten to see her change.
"Do you want me to change again and show you?" Isabelle asked with a smile.
"No, that's alright. We'll have plenty of time for that later. I'm too tired now," Albert replied.
Albert put on his sleepwear, and with Isabelle's help, he tied the sash loosely around his waist. Then, the two of them left the bedroom and made their way to the deck.
The air was fresh, and the morning sun shone brightly on the deck. The house-elves had already prepared breakfast.
There was a creamy fish stew with fresh wood ear mushrooms, shrimp, and oysters, garnished with a few goji berries.
The fish stew was fresh, and Albert ate a big bowl of it. After filling his stomach, he felt even sleepier and pulled Isabelle back to bed for a nap.
The girl's body was soft and comfortable to hold.
"Really," Isabelle said with a yawn as she watched Albert fall into a deep sleep. She stretched like a cat and closed her eyes again.
When Albert woke up again, it was already afternoon. Isabelle had gotten up, and the faint scent of her perfume still lingered in the room.
Albert sat up, covering his yawn, and saw Isabelle stepping out of the bathroom with wet hair, drying it with a towel.
"You should take a shower too!" Isabelle sat in front of the vanity mirror, combing her hair.
"You should have waited for me. It would feel more like a honeymoon that way," Albert said as he hugged her slender waist from behind and whispered in her ear.
"I need to dry my hair," Isabelle replied.
"Why don't you use magic?"
Albert took the towel and helped Isabelle dry her hair, curious about her choice.
"We can't rely on magic for everything," Isabelle said, clearly enjoying the process, "And if I were to use magic to evaporate the water, my hair would be a mess and hard to manage."
Albert suddenly asked, "By the way, have they sent any messages?"
"They're already back in the Far East. Nia asked you to pay them a visit when you have time," Isabelle replied.
She kissed Albert on the forehead and said in a playful tone, as if scolding a mischievous child, "Go take a shower now. We'll have some afternoon tea before dinner."
The afternoon tea was not served on the deck, as it was still afternoon, and the climate in the French seas was noticeably warmer than in Britain.
Albert ordered the sailboat to retract its canvas and mast, turning it into a submarine-like vessel that moved into the shallower waters. This was originally designed to shake off any possible pursuers, but now it seemed like a good idea for leisure as well.
Above them was the shimmering sea, with schools of fish swimming by. The house-elves had prepared black tea and some wedding cake from the day before, along with the latest newspapers on the table.
The newspapers were filled with news of Skrinj's appointment as the new minister and the measures he had enacted to deal with Death Eaters and mysterious wizards.
Undoubtedly, Skrinj, riding on the wave of his victory over the Death Eaters, had gained the support of a large number of wizards.
He had also taken Albert's suggestion to convene a high-level meeting of the Magic Ministry, collecting everyone's opinions to deal with the upcoming crisis. With more people brainstorming, they were bound to come up with better solutions, and even if some ideas weren't accepted, it still gave everyone a sense of participation and showed that Skrinj was willing to listen and accept their input.
"Things are going even smoother than I expected.
Albert put down the newspaper, took a sip of his milk tea, and opened his mouth expectantly as Isabelle fed him a piece of cake.
Even after a night, the texture of the wedding cake hadn't changed much, which was quite surprising.
"It's preserved with a freezing charm, and kept in the icebox," Isabelle said, seemingly guessing Albert's thoughts.
"Indeed, magic is truly amazing."
Albert took another bite of the cake and then began feeding Isabelle, enjoying the feeling of their closeness. It was like the sweetness of the cake they were sharing.
"What is it? Why are you looking at me like that?" Isabelle asked, leaning in to lick some cream off Albert's lips.
"I guess it's because I still haven't fully immersed myself in the wizarding world," Albert replied, gently caressing his lips where Isabelle had just kissed him.
"That's understandable. After all, you haven't truly lived within the wizarding community," Isabelle said softly.
"Yeah, that's true," Albert agreed. In his previous life, he had been an ordinary person, and even though he had spent seven years at Hogwarts in this life, he hadn't truly lived within the wizarding world. He had always felt a bit averse to the somewhat backward lifestyle of the magical community.
"Actually, we don't need to worry about those things. As long as we're comfortable and happy, that's all that matters." Albert spoke without hesitation, "Muggles know how to enjoy life better than wizards, in my opinion. Take this sofa we're sitting on, for example. There's no reason for us to reject these comforts and conveniences. Let's just live our lives the way we want to."
"Open wide," Albert said as he brought a forkful of cake to Isabelle's lips.
"No more, I'll get fat if I eat too much cake," Isabelle protested, but she still opened her mouth and ate the cake that Albert was feeding her. "If I become a fat lady, it's all your fault."
"No, you won't. Your mother isn't fat, and as long as you don't overeat and live a disciplined life, you won't become fat either," Albert assured her as he finished the remaining cake on his plate and wiped his lips with a napkin. "Besides, you exercise regularly, so there's no way you'll gain weight."
"Who knows? Women tend to gain weight and age more easily after they turn thirty," Isabelle said, clearly concerned about this issue.
"We won't have to worry about money, so let's just live the way we want. Who knows, maybe in the future, they'll really invent a beauty potion that can preserve your appearance, and you'll stay forever young and beautiful."
"Zigmont Pach's beauty potion can already do that," Isabelle said, pouting slightly at the fact that men always seemed to prefer beautiful women.
"That just turns one person into another," Albert said dismissively. "However, Pach's beauty potion does provide a good reference point for future research."
"Do you have any good ideas?" Isabelle asked eagerly, well aware of Albert's skill in potion-making. Perhaps he could easily create a potion that women dreamed of.
"Come on, I'll show you a nice place," Albert said, changing the subject.
"Really, you always speak in half-sentences," Isabelle complained.
"It's just a guess, but when we have time, we can research it together," Albert said as he cupped Isabelle's face and kissed her. "Don't worry, you're still young, and even if you grow old, you'll always be my wife."
"I think if you put all your energy into one thing, you could definitely create miracles that would astonish everyone," Isabelle said softly.
"Really? But I don't really care about so-called miracles," Albert replied.
Albert led Isabelle back into the cabin, where they entered a spacious area larger than a trunk. Not far from the entrance was a delicate house, and beyond it lay a sunny orchard, a flower field, and a vegetable garden—a beautiful sight to behold.
"Even if we live underwater, we can still maintain this for more than half a year," Albert said as he guided Isabelle to a wooden house in the corner. The space inside was larger than expected, with glass walls. There was a dining table and a round hanging bed that could accommodate two people.
"This is..." Isabelle began.
Albert waved his wand, and the glass walls disappeared, replaced by a breathtaking view of the underwater world.
"This is inspired by the Slytherin common room at Hogwarts. It allows you to immerse yourself in the beauty of the underwater world. Isn't it beautiful?"
"It feels like a dream," Isabelle murmured, gazing at the fish swimming around them. "You always manage to surprise me."
"Do you like it?" Albert asked, taking out some snacks from a nearby cabinet and sitting on the hanging bed.
"I love it," Isabelle replied, joining him on the bed and pushing the snacks to the side. "It's a shame Katrina couldn't see this."
"You really care about her, don't you? I'm starting to get jealous," Albert said, hugging Isabelle and leaning against the pillows as they admired the sea view outside, chatting about the wedding the day before and whether or not to hang up the photos that Lee Jordan had taken.
"Let's not. It feels a bit strange," Isabelle shook her head. She didn't like the idea of being watched while sleeping, and besides...
Let's leave it at that for now.
