The earth burned as the eerie blue flames engulfed the entire arena once more. The broken body of the Demon God slowly rose, returning from the underworld, as if the world had entered the countdown to Doomsday once again.

"Then I activate the effect of 'King of Armageddon, Demise'!" Shel shouted, "I pay 2000 Life Points to destroy all cards on the field!
All your empty words amount to nothing. In the end, only absolute power is pure. Perish!
Doomsday!!!'

Life force was drained once more, leaving Shel's face deathly pale, and his steps faltered.
The life force absorbed as nourishment by Demise's axe brought about Doomsday once more. Bubbleman and Volt Clawlor on Jaden's field were engulfed, reduced to smithereens by the searing blue flames.
"However, before Bubbleman was destroyed," Jaden continued the chain, "I activate the Quick-Play Spell, 'Bubble Illusion'!
This card can only be activated when 'Elemental HERO Bubbleman' is on the field. During this turn, I can activate a Trap Card from my hand once!"
Subsequently, the flames of destruction swept through, causing both of Jaden's Elemental Heroes to leave the field.
"Another Trap Card from his hand," Shel frowned.
How is this an endless series of pitfalls?
"Ah, I've been watching Yu Xuan's duels a lot lately," Jaden said, scratching his head and smiling at Yu Xuan, "I found his various uses of Trap Cards quite interesting. Suddenly, I thought it would be fun to try it myself."

He drew two cards first.
"I set two cards face-down on my field. Then, I activate this card from my hand—
—Spell Card, 'Hand Destruction'! Both players discard their entire hands and draw the same number of cards!"
Jaden was surprised: "The same spell card as Yu Xuan!"
Jaden discarded his hand to the graveyard and drew from his deck.
"Now, discard your hand so that any Trap Cards you have will be sent to the graveyard as well!"
Jaden reluctantly looked at the 'Sacred Shield Reflector' in his hand and placed it on the Duel Disk, watching it slide into the graveyard.
However, after drawing new cards, he glanced at the new card he had drawn and his heart stirred.
Shel narrowed his eyes and barely made out the Trap Card that Jaden had sent to the graveyard from his Duel Disk.
At this distance, it would be impossible to make out an unfamiliar or unrecognized card, but the Sacred Shield, with its extremely high profile and having already appeared twice in this duel, was identifiable by the outline of its card art.
"Heh, so it's your second 'Sacred Shield Reflector'. How dangerous. If I had attacked, I would have taken a solid hit from the backlash of Reflector."
Shel sneered.
"Unfortunately, my duel is still one step ahead.
"Now, the Battle Phase! 'King of Armageddon, Demise' attacks directly!"
The King of Armageddon raised his battle axe once more, locking onto Jaden as his target. But Jaden was unfazed and calmly played another card from his hand.
"Based on the effect of 'Bubble Illusion', I can activate a Trap Card from my hand during this turn.
So I activate this card from my hand—

Shel nearly spat blood.
The third Sacred Shield?!
Even Yu Xuan turned his head in surprise.
Who would've thought that Jaden, who played two Sacred Shields in the anime, would top himself and play three in one go?!

A searing pain, like his soul was being burned, caused Jaden to cough and smoke rose from his body as he clutched his chest and fell to one knee.
"This is the pain of a Shadow Duel."
"That's right," Shel said. "This is what a duel is supposed to be—a ritual where both sides wager their lives and souls to determine the victor. If you can't take the heat, you can still surrender now."
"Don't joke around," Jaden replied, standing up and ignoring the smoke rising from his body. He dusted himself off and grinned. "How could I possibly give up now? A duel is all about enduring until the very last card and the very last breath. It's only fun if you don't give up until the very end."
Shel frowned.
Could this guy actually be enjoying this life-or-death duel? Was there really someone like this in the world?
"Hmph, then you can slowly enjoy the end of your life." With a cold smile, Shel drew two more cards. "I set two cards face-down. End Phase."
Yu Xuan: "My turn, draw."
Shel shouted, "The King of Armageddon, Demise, is the absolute power bestowed upon me by the gods! It is proof of my transformation! If you dare to say I'm wrong, then try to take him down!"
Yu Xuan calmly played a card from his hand.
"Spell Card, 'Abyss Announcer'. Pay 1500 Life Points to declare a Type and Attribute. Your opponent must send a monster with the declared Type and Attribute from their field to the graveyard.
I declare Fiend-Type DARK monsters.
Now, send your 'King of Armageddon, Demise' to the graveyard."
