Chapter 113: Kyle, Run!
Chapter 113: Kyle, Run!
After a while, Fred and George arrived, making the compartment feel a little crowded.
"Why can't Hogwarts provide larger compartments for the train?" Fred complained.
"I heard the Head Boy's compartment is spacious and more comfortable," George laughed. "Unfortunately, none of us are Head Boys."
"Speaking of which, Percy should be able to become a Head Boy next year," Kyle suddenly spoke up.
Fred furrowed his brows, as if Kyle had mentioned the cancellation of the Quidditch match next year instead of Percy.
"Although I don't want to admit it, it's probably true."
"I bet if that's the case, Percy will be wearing that Head Boy badge the entire holiday," George said.
As he spoke, he stuck a Chocolate Frog card on his chest and imitated Percy, walking around the corridor outside the compartment.
His comical actions and exaggerated facial expressions made everyone burst into laughter.
The Weasley brothers never failed to liven up the atmosphere.
The group played a few more rounds of Snap Crack, and Autumn mentioned the letter, asking if they were allowed to use magic at all during the holidays.
"You can use magic, but only if there's an adult wizard nearby," Fred explained. "That way, the Ministry of Magic won't know who cast the spell."
Autumn frowned. "In that case, I'll pass."
...
The train passed through more and more towns, and Kyle and the others took off their wizarding robes, replacing them with jackets and short tops.
Finally, the train came to a stop at Platform 9 of King's Cross Station.
To avoid attracting Muggle attention, a withered old guard stood by the wall, allowing only two or three people to leave the platform at a time.
Fortunately, there weren't many people on the train this time, and after bidding farewell to Conna, Kyle and his group quickly passed through the wall.
Conna didn't need to leave the station as she was taking the Knight Bus home.
The group headed towards the exit back to the Muggle world.
Autumn's father had come to pick her up. He was an amiable Eastern man who greeted Kyle and the others warmly and invited them to his home during the summer vacation.
However, Kyle detected a hint of vigilance in his eyes, especially when he looked at himself and Cedric.
"Kyle, run!"
At that moment, Ginny Weasley, the youngest Weasley sister, ran over. Looking at Kyle, she said in a hurried tone, "Did you get into trouble at school? Mom has been angry the whole way here. You'd better run fast, or it'll be too late."
"Thanks for the reminder, Ginny," Kyle said, ruffling the little girl's hair. "But it's too late now."
Just as Ginny called out his name, Mrs. Weasley had already stormed over, brimming with anger.
"Brother, you're on your own now."
"We'll always remember you."
Fred and George, showing no brotherly loyalty, jumped to the side and wore expressions as if they were waiting for a good show.
"You actually followed a Dark Wizard into the Forbidden Forest!" Mrs. Weasley stood by Kyle, her voice filled with anger. "Do you know how dangerous that was?"
Behind her, Diana followed with a serious expression.
Kyle promptly lowered his head. "I was wrong, and I promise I'll never do it again!"
As he spoke, he quickly took out the report card he had prepared in advance from his pocket.
"No matter what you show me, you won't be able to fool me this time. How could you do something so dangerous..."
After glancing at the report card, Mrs. Weasley couldn't find any more words of reprimand.
Perfect... Perfect...
Almost all of his subjects were perfect scores, and the only one that wasn't was just one point short. Even Bill didn't achieve such results in his time.
"Merlin..." Mrs. Weasley wiped her hands on her clothes and carefully took the report card.
"Kyle, you'll definitely become the Student Council President!" Mrs. Weasley said with relief.
Then she looked at the Weasley brothers and said, "Where are your report cards? Let me see them."
Fred and George's smiles froze on their faces, and they wanted to make an excuse, saying that they had lost their report cards.
But they knew that if they did that, Mrs. Weasley would definitely write a letter to Hogwarts. However, if they showed their report cards now... they couldn't guarantee that they would leave King's Cross Station alive.
Seeing the two of them standing there, Mrs. Weasley's gaze became stern.
"Mom, our report cards are in the trunk," Fred quickly said. "We'll show them to you when we get home."
"There are also newspapers in our trunk. What if Muggles see them by accident?"
The flawless version is available at 69 Book Bar! 6=9+Book Bar is the first to release this novel.
Mrs. Weasley looked at the bustling crowd around them and thought it made sense, so she didn't insist further.
"Then let's go home now."
At this moment, Kyle also walked up to Diana.
Diana's expression was serious, but she didn't scold him like Mrs. Weasley did.
Her gaze fell on Kyle's fingers, and she asked, "How many times?"
Kyle knew she was asking about the number of times he had used Shadow Shift. He raised his hand and said, "Once."
The ring originally had three crescent moon decorations, but now one was missing.
Diana's expression softened. If he had only used it once, then the situation at the time couldn't have been too bad.
Kyle asked hesitantly, "Can it be replenished?"
He remembered Diana mentioning in her previous letter that if he didn't want to take the train, he could use Shadow Shift to go home directly.
If it could be used as a luxury means of transportation, it should be reusable.
Just as he thought.
Diana nodded and said, "Yes, but it's a bit complicated process and will take about a week."
Kyle breathed a sigh of relief. A month would be fine too, as he didn't need it anymore.
...
Just like when they arrived, Mr. Weasley drove the Disillusionment Charm-enhanced car, taking everyone back to Ottery St. Catchpole.
On the way, Fred and George's smiles disappeared, and it seemed like the car was taking them not home but to an execution ground.
Upon returning to the cottage, Percy immediately took out his report card, and as expected, he was the top student in his fourth year.
Mrs. Weasley hugged him with delight. If she hadn't seen Kyle's report card, she would have been even more pleased.
Then she turned her gaze to Fred and George...
Kyle stood by, his arms crossed, anticipating what was about to happen. However, at this moment, Diana pulled him away.
As they walked home, two screams suddenly echoed, loud and clear, reverberating in the air above Ottery St. Catchpole for a long time.
