Chapter 1120: Want to Know? Fight!
Chapter 1120: Want to Know? Fight!
Boma's D-Wheel was hit with a massive impact. The blow from the god's fist almost flipped the triangular vehicle, causing it to spin uncontrollably on the road, its massive tires screeching and metal parts clashing, sending sparks flying.
"Aaaaaah—"
It was Boma, or rather, Yeshen, who let out a roar of defiant fury.
Boma's tall body was thrown from the D-Wheel, rolling several times on the ground before crashing into the barrier at the side of the track with a thud.
Of course, Boma had long been dead. His body, now that of a Dark Signer, was reinforced by Yeshen's power. If he were an ordinary person, being thrown like that would have shattered all his bones.
In a Dark Duel, even if the physical damage doesn't kill, the end of the duel usually means certain death.
At least, temporarily.
This is why the Earthbound Gods are considered the best bosses in the history of Yu-Gi-Oh. They bring the dead back to life as Dark Signers, giving them a second chance, and even if they lose a life-or-death duel, the death is only temporary.
Once the Dark Signer chapter concludes and the Earthbound Gods are defeated, all the dead will be resurrected. Whether they were sacrificed or lost a life-or-death duel, they will return unharmed, ready to live their ordinary lives again.
Of course, before the Earthbound Gods' downfall, the Dark Signers themselves didn't know they would have another chance to live.
For Boma, his life had already ended.
"I'll remember you", Yeshen said through Boma's eyes, glaring at Yuxuan. After speaking, the last of his remaining strength seemed to be spent, and the evil aura separated from Boma's body, gradually dissipating.
Boma's eyes slowly regained their clarity. But he was lying in the corner of the track, unable to muster the strength to get up.
"Hey, you!" Yusei Fudo jumped into the track and hurried over to Boma. "Are you okay?"
Boma closed his eyes and took a deep breath.
"I lost. I lost completely."
At that moment, Yuxuan's D-Wheel also stopped beside Boma. Yuxuan dismounted and walked over slowly.
Boma lifted his head with great effort and looked at "Commander Godwin", struggling to say, "I'm sorry, Commander. I was too quick to believe the words of a villain. When I saw the state of my hometown and thought of my deceased siblings, I lost my head, my mind went blank, and my soul was consumed by vengeance. I didn't even bother to verify the evidence, and I accepted the accusations against you so easily... cough, cough."
"It's alright", Yuxuan said calmly. "When it comes to family, people can easily lose control and their sense of self. I understand."
Boma smiled bitterly. "Fortunately, your skills are beyond what I could have imagined. Saying that you are a powerful Duelist is an understatement. You seem to be a reclusive master, one who has no interest in the world. I once prided myself on my Dueling skills, but I never imagined there could be someone as powerful as you, and with such strong monsters.
To possess the power of a god, in your eyes, the 'Earthbound Gods' are probably just false gods."
Yuxuan said, "Your time is running out. Let's keep it short. I have a question."
Boma nodded. "Ask away. I'll tell you anything I know... cough, cough."
"Did you come to seek revenge on your own, or were you influenced by anyone else? Especially someone outside the Dark Signers?"
Since the battle with the Skeleton Knight, Yuxuan had begun to suspect that he might have been targeted by someone manipulating history. The Skeleton Knight had already realized that Yuxuan was not the real Godwin, so the mastermind likely knew as well. Boma's attack could have been incited by that force.
But Boma shook his head. "No, I acted solely for revenge, completely on my own. Even the other Dark Signers had no idea."
At this, he clenched his fists and gritted his teeth. "How foolish I was! The true enemies were right beside me, and I was completely unaware, even going so far as to collude with them, nearly harming the innocent."
Fury burned within him, and he now despised the Dark Signers he had once aligned with, wishing he could exact his revenge on them right now. But he understood the rules of the Dark Duel. Having lost the Duel, his body was rapidly deteriorating, as if decaying before his very eyes.
As much as he hated it, he knew he would likely never get another chance for revenge.
"It's all right", Yuxuan said calmly. "The souls absorbed by the Earthbound Gods have not perished. They are being prepared for the final ritual to open the Gates of the Netherworld.
Defeat the Earthbound Gods, and your siblings' souls will be restored."
Boma's heart leaped, and he stared at Commander Godwin with wide eyes.
"Commander, are you serious? Are you sure?"
"Of course", Yuxuan nodded.
"So my siblings are—"
"Still alive, yes", Yuxuan confirmed.
Overwhelmed with joy, the towering man, standing at two meters, burst into tears, crying like a child.
"That's wonderful, wonderful—"
He closed his eyes, temporarily forgetting all his hatred. Since learning of the destruction of his hometown, his only remaining purpose in life had been to avenge his loved ones. Now, knowing they were still alive, all his anger dissipated, and he felt that nothing else in the world mattered.
And the one who had defeated the Earthbound Gods was none other than Commander Godwin. Just a minute ago, they had been mortal enemies, but now Godwin had become his greatest benefactor.
"There's no need to worry about the Dark Signers; they are doomed", Yuxuan said. "That's what I'm saying."
Boma nodded, closing his eyes in relief.
After the intense Duel, he had come to fully trust Yuxuan.
The Dark Signers were finished.
Because Commander Godwin had said so, it was already done.
"Thank you."
With his last bit of strength, Boma whispered these words before his body finally disintegrated, vanishing into thin air.
Yusei Fudo and Jack had never seen anyone die from a card game before, and they were both deeply shaken.
"Commander Godwin!" Jack called out. "What happened to him?"
Yuxuan turned, hands behind his back, and faced the two of them with a calm demeanor.
"He was a Dark Signer, your destined adversaries.
Dark Signers' Duels are always to the death. Either you die, or they do. You will likely face such a moment soon, so be prepared."
With that, he turned to leave.
"Please wait!" Yusei called out. "What about our destined battles? What will happen to this city and the Satellite District in the future?"
Yuxuan paused, glanced back at them, and smiled faintly.
"You have yet to awaken. Especially you, Yusei. Your dragon mark doesn't seem to be permanent, does it?"
Yusei looked at his now empty arm.
Indeed. Unlike the other Signers, his dragon mark only appeared during battles between Signers or when a Dark Signer was present, glowing on his arm.
This meant Yusei's awakening was less complete than the others.
"If you want to know more, keep participating in the Lucky Cup and win it."
Yuxuan said.
"Win and reach the pinnacle of the Dueling world in this city, and then you will understand the truth."
With that, he hummed a little tune and walked away.
