Chapter 111: Isn't That Even More Exciting?
Chapter 111: Isn't That Even More Exciting?
"So, you three just came back after taking down a Level 1 Curse Spirit?"
Looking at the three unharmed students, Luk was genuinely surprised.
After he finished dealing with the invading Cursed Cauldron, Principal Yagoto had a grave expression as he informed Luk that Sukuna's finger and the Special-Class Cursed Object, the Nine Elephant Curse Embryo Diagram, had been stolen. The two Cursed Technique users responsible for guarding them had died in a gruesome manner, their bodies mutilated beyond recognition.
Luk didn't bother with these minor details. Even if Sukuna managed to gather all twenty fingers, it wouldn't be a threat to him. What concerned him more was that his students had gone off to exorcise a Curse Spirit without following his instructions.
Just as he was about to head out to help, the three students suddenly returned, almost unscathed, and proudly claimed their reward.
Luk rubbed his chin, remembering that in the original story, the three of them had been severely beaten. Yuji had been killed once after Sukuna ripped out his heart, and Nobara Kugisaki had prepared to self-destruct to take down the Two-Faced Sukuna. It was only at the last moment that they managed to talk their way out of the situation.
Something was off, very off, maybe even nine-tenths off.
Yuji scratched his head. "Maybe we just got lucky."
"It's probably because the Intelligence Division made a mistake in their data collection," Nobara explained, being the most experienced among them. "While most Curse Spirits that can be detected are Special-Class, occasionally a Level 1 Curse Spirit with a visible form can appear."
That was true, but Nobara was also a bit puzzled. They had gone in prepared to run for their lives, as a Special-Class Curse Spirit was not something they should face at their current level.
However, they ended up defeating a Level 1 Curse Spirit, the Veil, and were informed by Idami that there were no more Curse Spirits around.
Did something happen in between? Nobara tried to recall, but nothing seemed amiss.
"What do you mean, a Level 1 Curse Spirit's life isn't a life? We worked hard to take it down," Megumi complained, crossing her arms and staring at the Cursed Cauldron's head on Luk's desk.
"What's this thing with eyes? It looks familiar."
Nobara thought for a moment. "Last time, Teacher Luk made a dish for Teacher Itadori that had a Fuji Mountain Thousand-Layer Tower."
"Is it an ingredient? I've never heard of an ingredient shaped like Mount Fuji," Yuji's eyes lit up as he sniffed the air. "It smells like a Curse Spirit."
"This is a Curse Spirit, and a very powerful one at that. It's a natural disaster among Special-Class Curse Spirits, and an ultra-top-tier ingredient."
Luk stroked the Cursed Cauldron's head. He had deliberately controlled his strength to preserve the essence, using it to break through the "Food as Heaven" technique and create a five-star ingredient. The dish he had made for Itadori last time was just a warm-up.
Name: Cursed Cauldron
Type: Unnamed Family, Unnamed Species
Quality: ★★★★★
Processing Method: ???
Cooking Method: Steamed, Braised, Simmered
Effect of Consumption: Significantly increased Cursed Energy, enhanced physical constitution, extreme heat resistance, affinity with fire, and control over fire.
"Really?"
Upon hearing that it was a Special-Class Curse Spirit, the three students instinctively took a step back, exchanged glances, and spoke with determination.
"We'd rather die than eat something like that."
One hour later.
Luk opened the steamer, and the rich aroma filled the kitchen.
The three students were practically drooling on the floor, and Megumi, who had been resisting the smell, was already losing consciousness. She vaguely saw Yuji shamelessly hugging Luk's leg.
Traitor!
She wiped her mouth and noticed that Nobara had summoned a Jade Dog to beg for a bite. She also joined in, naturally blending in with the dogs to act cute.
Traitors x2!
Seeing that they were already hugging his legs and hesitating to rush for the third, Luk was momentarily speechless.
For the love of heaven, he was just cooking!
In the end, he couldn't resist their persistent pleading and agreed to give them a small taste. He felt like they were about to kneel and beg him.
No wonder the spirit of poison had such great culinary skills!
"Alright, alright. I was going to give you some anyway. But let's get one thing straight: after eating my food, you must win the Kyoto Sister School Exchange."
Luk laid down the terms. After all, they were his students, and he wouldn't allow them to lose. They had to win convincingly.
"Kyoto Sister School Exchange?"
Yuji and Megumi were confused, while Nobara was a bit surprised. "Isn't that an activity for second and third-year students?"
"The third-year students are on leave, so you'll have to fill in. Don't worry, after eating my food, your strength will improve significantly, and you'll win easily."
Yuji thought for a moment. "Is that considered cheating?"
"Of course not! We're enhancing our strength through our own abilities. Why should it be considered cheating? If they can find a Special-Class Cursed Technique user who can cook, that's their problem!"
With a resolute answer, a stylish woman with glasses, who looked more like a man, burst through the door, followed by a delicate boy with a submissive demeanor. The contrast between them was so stark that it reminded one of Fourth Love.
They were second-year students Zenin Maki and Inumaki Toge.
Zenin Maki possessed the same "Heaven and Tyrant" curse as Nobara's brother, Zenin Shinji, which transformed her Cursed Techniques and Cursed Energy into physical attributes. This was probably a Zenin family specialty.
Dog Jieji is a Word Mage, whose spells are Verbal Curses. Speaking these words can turn them into reality, so he usually only communicates with Onigiri using his special language—“Salmon” means yes, and “Bonito Flakes” means no.
"Teacher Luk, we’ve come to see you and the first-year students!"
"Salmon, salmon."
"Sorry, it seems we’ve come at a bad time."
Amakiri stepped out from behind the two, dressed in a red and white miko outfit, her long hair flowing gracefully. She looked gentle and virtuous, a perfect embodiment of the traditional Japanese ideal of womanhood.
"No, you’ve come at the perfect time."
Luk’s eyebrows furrowed as he subconsciously responded, and he even pulled his hand away from stroking the Jade Dog, causing the dog to whimper.
"Where’s Panda?"
"He’s a Curse Corpse and can’t eat."
Toge, Yamauchi, and Zenin’s eyes instantly sharpened. So, they were invaders here to steal food!
Amakiri, hearing this, looked around and, not seeing Mimi, her eyes lit up. She led the two students to sit down.
"Don’t worry, we’ll definitely win," Zenin said with a confident grin. "So, can you share some of the food? With Teacher Luk’s winning cuisine, we’re sure to win!"
"Salmon!"
Dog Jieji’s eyes also lit up as he stared at the food.
Amakiri’s gaze almost clung to Luk, her demeanor dignified and her face slightly flushed as she said, "I have a very small appetite and usually eat only a little."
She added softly, "I remember Mimi always eats a lot. She has a great appetite and never gains weight."
"She does have a good appetite," Luk nodded in agreement.
Seeing this, Toge’s eyes flashed. It wasn’t just about the food; this was about stealing someone’s attention. She leaned over to Yamauchi and whispered, "She’s flirting, right?"
Yamauchi scratched his head. "Is she? This seems like normal conversation."
"You wooden head."
Toge moved to Zenin’s side, only girls could understand each other! "Senpai, can’t you see? Teacher Amakiri is totally flirting with Teacher Luk."
"Why would she? This is clearly just normal conversation."
Zenin, known for her well-endowed figure and good looks, was just as clueless about romantic matters, frustrating Toge’s gossiping instincts.
She turned to Dog Jieji, who noticed her gaze and opened his mouth.
"Salmon, salmon."
Toge: "…"
Damn it, no one here can communicate properly!
Just then, Fushiguro caught her eye. Toge eagerly approached him. "Fushiguro, you can see it, right? Teacher Amakiri is flirting with Teacher Luk."
"Isn’t it obvious?"
Smack!
Toge grabbed Fushiguro’s hand. "Fushiguro, you’re the only sister I have at this school."
Fushiguro: ???
A few minutes later, the dishes were finally served, and the aroma that wafted out when the lid was lifted conquered everyone present.
"I want to eat!"
"You guys be nice to the girls!"
"Jade Dog, go! Flatter Teacher Luk to get more ingredients!"
"I’m confident in my physical skills."
"Sit down!"
"I’m the teacher, listen to me!"
After a chaotic scene, everyone gobbled up the food like starving dogs. Half of the food was quickly snatched away, leaving only the portion Luk had set aside for himself.
After licking the plates clean, Amakiri wiped the sweat from her brow and blushed as she explained, "I really do eat very little at home."
"Of course."
Luk fully understood the power of the potion and gave the poor girl a way out.
Yamauchi tugged at his clothes, feeling his body heating up, sweat pouring from his forehead, back, and all over. "Um, do you guys feel...?"
"A bit hot." Fushiguro also panted, unbuttoning his shirt and taking off his jacket.
Feeling the warm currents in her body, Toge’s expression changed. "Teacher Luk, you didn’t really put something in the food, did you?"
Smack!
Luk hit Toge’s head with a steel basin. "This is the effect of the ingredients."
The Hourglass is a terror of humanity, a fear of Mount Fuji’s eruption, and one of the top Special Grade Curses, equivalent in strength to eight of Sukuna’s fingers.
At this level, the potion retained most of its power, and the boost was too intense for the students. The excess energy needed an outlet.
"Everyone, stand up!"
Amakiri, her face also flushed, rallied the students. "Now, go to the track and run until you can’t anymore!"
The energetic students obediently went to the track and started running.
Once the crowd dispersed and only two people were left in the room, the atmosphere grew increasingly intimate. Amakiri, unable to resist the influence of the food, blushed and moved closer to Luk.
"Teacher Luk, children have their ways of releasing energy, but we adults..."
Luk firmly refused. "Teacher Amakiri, I already have Mimi."
"Teacher Luk, isn’t that even more exciting?"
Luk: (ー`ー)
Lady, how do you know these things?
