Chapter 1100: Kuro? Who's That? Doesn't Matter!
Chapter 1100: Kuro? Who's That? Doesn't Matter!
Shredded William dispersed into steam, then reaggregated back into a complete human form. He looked down at the crimson-eyed Navy below, whose clothes had torn significantly, his hooded cloak pierced in multiple places. William frowned.
"Sazil?"
He recognized this man - the one he'd mistaken for Kuro back when they were in East Blue.
Of course, this man also called himself Kuro, but he wasn't quite the real Kuro.
"So it's you, William!"
Sazil heard the voice and looked up, raising his fist with a malicious grin. "You're pretty despicable too - thinking you're better than me? I'm called Kuro as well! Why does everyone insist on using my surname? Are you saying I'm unworthy of this name?"
William demanded, "What are you trying to do? Sazil, were you behind all this?"
"Are you kidding? I'm Navy - the embodiment of Justice!"
Sazil clenched his fist tighter, the bones cracking loudly. "When I arrived, they were already like this. I originally planned to retreat, but I was angry too. My subordinates refused to obey me, so I had no choice but to make them lie down and rest properly. Of course, I didn't kill anyone - I'm a non-killing comrade. But I needed an outlet for my anger, and fortunately, you showed up."
He pulled his fist back, his voice icy. "You're a pirate. Killing you shouldn't be a problem, right?"
"Impact Tide!"
Boom!!
The fist struck out, "punching" the air apart and creating a massive wind beam shaped like a cannonball, hurtling directly toward William.
With a single strike, half of William's body was blown to pieces, but quickly, from the remaining lower half, steam erupted and recombined into William's shape.
"Are you trying to die, Sazil?!"
William's voice turned gloomy. "Does this strike represent Navy attacking me?"
"Why so many questions? Right now, I just want to defeat you and make you acknowledge me!"
Sazil's feet danced as he charged forward, his fist stained with Haki, throwing a punch toward William.
Against Logia users, one must use Haki!
For William, Sazil's current state was clearly wrong, but since he'd attacked first...
"Steam Rush Punch!"
William's fist erupted with high-temperature steam, the force accelerating it forward with explosive power, colliding against Sazil's fist.
"Haki isn't everything! My power surpasses yours!"
William pushed his arm forward, aiming to strike Sazil down.
But Sazil suddenly Yi Xiao. "You're not the only one with abilities!"
Boom!
As the words rang out, the fists' collision suddenly rebounded like encountering elastic, deflecting upward from Sazil's fist.
"My Devil Fruit makes it acceptable to 'punch' anything!"
Sazil stretched out his other hand, five fingers wide open, grasping the air as if seizing a physical entity, then flung his arm forward.
"Tearing Wind!"
Whoosh!
The torn air transformed into whip-like blades, tearing through William's body as Sazil's arm swung.
"They told you not to do pointless things! Don't you understand Logia users, Sazil?" William's head regenerated as he shouted angrily.
"Call me Kuro!"
Sazil's voice suddenly rang from above William. He had leaped into the sky, his leg raised high, his calf radiating Haki's glow, smashing down at William's newly regenerated body.
William's heart lurched. He quickly crossed his arms to block the incoming leg.
"I told you - I punch 'everything'!" Sazil's crimson eyes blazed as his leg powered downward, activating his ability a hair's breadth from William's arms.
Instead of a physical strike, it was the Punch-Punch Devil Fruit's power, unleashing strange elasticity that sent William's body crashing down like a cannonball.
Bang!
A cloud of smoke and dust rose from the impact.
"Hehehe! Just a Seven Warlords of the Sea member? I can beat him!"
Sazil roared with laughter, suddenly raising both hands high, his expression gruesome. "I'll show you something brutal - make you truly recognize me!"
Admiral Kuro once evaluated his ability, suggesting he try learning from Bear. Fortunately, his was Bear's inferior version, but fundamentally the same. If properly developed, he could match Bear's level.
Bear - the one Kuro called a 'strong man'!
So according to Kuro...
Wait, who's Kuro again?
Aren't I Kuro myself?
His eyes turned increasingly red.
Forget it - it doesn't matter. He only needed to know he could unleash this technique himself. True, he couldn't compress it, but generating airwaves was absolutely possible!
"I'll scatter your steam easily!"
Sazil spread his fingers wide, capturing air as if flipping the sky itself. Visibly, the air above him transformed into a physical entity, becoming a massive sphere.
Meanwhile, as the ground's smoke and dust began clearing, William witnessed the sight, his eyes widening. "What are you doing?! You're Navy! Don't you care about these people's lives?!"
"Hehehehehe!!"
In response, a series of maniacal laughs erupted.
How had it come to this?
Was this man abandoning Navy?
But becoming a pirate under his very nose wouldn't be easy!
Striking with this level of force, even if he defeated William, there was no way he'd become a Seven Warlords of the Sea - Kuro wouldn't allow it.
Besides, he could never be William's equal.
Why go this far?!
As William momentarily lost focus, shadowy purple-black tendrils suddenly pierced through his chest from the ground behind him, making William's wide eyes fill with bloodshot rage.
"Stop joking around! You think such a threat could make me hesitate? I'm 'White Admiral' William - a Seven Warlords of the Sea!"
Steam erupted from William's body, densifying the surrounding area. His voice emerged from the mist, deep and powerful. "Let this little Navy understand what true strength means for a Seven Warlords of the Sea!"
...
"Hasn't Sazil reported in yet?"
Two warships navigated the Grand Line. Inside one vessel's fortress, Kuro chewed a cigar while questioning the constantly monitoring Klah.
Klah shook his head. "No response. We've lost contact completely."
"What's he playing at? If he doesn't report promptly, how can I know what's happening? Has Sazil become unreliable too?"
Kuro exhaled smoke, then suddenly felt wrong - why did he use "too"?
Was it his subconscious belief that all subordinates were unreliable?
Come to think of it... they really were damn unreliable!
