"Silent Magician, effect activate," said Yu Xuan. "Once per turn, when a magic card is activated, negate its activation and destroy it!"
Silent Magician twirled her staff, releasing a milky wave of magical energy that bound her opponents' magic with transparent chains, shattering their magic card into pieces.
"Hah, as expected of Yu Xuan." Yugi gave him a thumbs-up. "You have countermeasures for both field and backfield attacks."
Kaiba narrowed his eyes, sizing up Silent Magician and Yu Xuan. "Quite a tricky ability. Is that your monster companion?"
"Indeed," Yugi replied. "You, who enslaves your monsters with power, wouldn't understand."
"Hmph, and what makes you think I wouldn't understand?" Kaiba retorted coldly. "On what grounds do you assume that I have never believed?"
Yugi was taken aback. "What?"
"Not just me, but my family as well. Generation after generation, we once believed. We call ourselves messengers of the 'Phoenix', passing down the Phoenix cards from age to age, believing that the Phoenix God would grant us protection."
Yu Xuan had been thinking that it hadn't been long since Pegasus invented Duel Monsters, so how could he have inherited cards from his ancestors?
But then he recalled the Nordic Gods in 5D's, which were also said to be family heirlooms. Perhaps they had preserved stone tablets before Pegasus invented the card crafting technology.

The legendary King of Ends, Demise, who was said to appear only when the world reached its end, bringing about destruction.

The King of Ends swung his battle axe, unleashing a chilling blue flame that consumed everything in its path. Like ghostly fire from the underworld, it mercilessly devoured all in its path, as if dragging the entire world into an abyss of doom.
The Phoenix God couldn't withstand the tide of annihilation, emitting a helpless cry before being engulfed by the flames of demise and leaving the field. The flames continued to ravage Yu Xuan and Jaden's field, reducing Silent Magician and their backrow cards to ashes.
"Then, the effect of 'Silent Magician LV7' activates," Yu Xuan declared. "When she is destroyed by an opponent's card effect, she can evolve into a new form! From the intersection of chaos and order, a silent radiance shines forth, and a magician of light descends—

As Silent Magician left the field, the released magical power transformed into a white magic circle. A dazzling white glow erupted, and an evolved silver-haired magician stepped forth, standing on the magic circle.

"Pfft, what's life anyway? Take it and be quiet!" Chazz scoffed.
He swayed as he stood up and shouted, "Useless! King of Ends, Demise, effect! Pay 2000 life points. Destroy all cards!
World End's Doom!!!"
"Hey, isn't there a limit to how many times you can use that effect?!" Jaden exclaimed.

Feeding on the life force of the duelists once more, the King of Ends raised his battle axe, and the axe of doom fell again! As the axe struck the ground, endless blue flames surged like waves. Silent Magician struggled to withstand the attack, but the magic circle eventually shattered under the overwhelming power, and she, too, was forced to leave the field.
"Now, your field is empty," Chazz panted, taking a moment to steady his erratic breathing.
"Then, I shall play this card from my hand."
He revealed another card in his hand.
"Devil Digging Beetle! By removing two Insect-type monsters from my graveyard from play, I can special summon this monster! I remove the two 'Mantis' cards from my graveyard and special summon 'Devil Digging Beetle'!"
It was clear that the two cards he had sent to the graveyard as the cost for the Advanced Ritual Art earlier weren't chosen at random but intentionally picked to be Insect-type monsters, creating the perfect conditions for summoning Devil Digging Beetle.
By summoning the King of Ends and precisely sending cards from his deck to the graveyard, Chazz had set up a devastating combo—using the King of Ends to clear the field, then utilizing the resources in his graveyard to summon Devil Digging Beetle and establish an overwhelming advantage in a single turn!
