Chapter 11: Initial Realm. Subduing Demons with the Righteous Sun Blade
Chapter 11: Initial Realm. Subduing Demons with the Righteous Sun Blade
"I originally came today to see the beautiful wife you found for us, but I caught a whiff of those mongrels along the way, so I decided to pay a visit."
"Rest assured, you're efficient in handling matters, and we are quite satisfied with you."
The old ape glanced at Shen Yi and then leaned in close to Song Changfeng, "However, your official position is too low, and you still have to take orders from incompetents like him. It's quite inconvenient. Today, I'll help you get rid of him and assist Brother Shen in climbing up the ranks."
"I didn't kill the dog demon..." Song Changfeng's eyes widened, his eyeballs almost popping out of their sockets as he screamed, "I'll resign... Don't kill me... Shen Yi! I've never offended you! Why are you doing this!"
Seeing his reaction, the three ape demons laughed together.
Their laughter was sharp and piercing, grating on Shen Yi's nerves. His voice turned cold, "Let him go."
As soon as he spoke, the old ape's expression changed drastically.
Although he addressed Shen Yi as 'Brother Shen', it was meant sarcastically. In their eyes, Shen Yi was nothing more than a obedient lackey.
Otherwise, they wouldn't have gone out of their way to give him such a warning.
Since when did a lackey have the right to issue orders here?
The old ape parted his lips, revealing dull yellow fangs, as he suppressed his anger and watched with interest, "What's in it for me if I let him go?"
Although he had no intention of actually releasing Song Changfeng, he was curious about Shen Yi's human-faced, beast-hearted nature and wondered what game he was playing today.
Upon hearing this, Shen Yi lowered his gaze and looked at the old ape thoughtfully. After a moment, he relaxed his furrowed brows as if offering a condition that the other party couldn't refuse, "Let him go, and you'll die a little more comfortably."
As soon as he finished speaking, the room fell silent.
A murderous aura gradually rose in the old ape's eyes, "Interesting. What if I don't let him go?"
Shen Yi raised his head and said sincerely, "I'll flay you alive and turn you into a skeleton."
Before the ape demons could react, Song Changfeng was so scared that his eyes were about to pop out, and he almost bit his tongue.
He finally understood that Shen absolutely didn't intend to let him leave this place alive!
Turn him into a skeleton? Who's going to flay whom?
The ape demons of Mount Dongshan were not like the yellow-skinned dog demons of the western suburbs. Dog demons were born in large numbers, varying in quality. In comparison, the ape demons consisted of only five individuals, each one a formidable elite. Their small number allowed them to rival the dog demons.
And now, three out of the four brothers were here!
Indeed, after hearing Shen Yi's words, the old ape in the Confucian robe's gaze turned completely cold.
He didn't bother with mockery or attempt to intimidate with a roar.
The old ape simply increased the force in his hand, his sharp nails piercing into Song Changfeng's forehead, causing his skull to creak as if it would explode like a ripe watermelon at any moment.
He glanced indifferently at Shen Yi beside him, hoping that this display would teach him how to speak properly.
At this moment, a hint of doubt appeared in the old ape's eyes, which quickly turned into rage!
Shen Yi didn't even glance at his actions; instead, he turned and walked towards the door, stopping in front of the two confused ape demons.
He sized them up for a moment before settling on the one who had broken in and killed earlier.
Then, Shen Yi raised his hand and viciously slammed it onto the back of the ape demon's head, catching it completely off guard.
With the enhancement of his powerful force, the ape demon crashed to the ground, its face sinking into the broken tiles.
The other ape demon finally snapped out of his daze and let out a sharp whistle. Even in this urgent situation, he maintained his composure.
Its left arm was poised to strike, ready to deliver a fatal blow to break his opponent's spine.
"...'
Shen Yi leaned forward, pressing down on the back of one of the ape demons' heads. Just as the claw was about to smash down, he casually blocked it with his other hand.
The black-haired claw, which could easily crush a spine, was effortlessly swatted away as the thousand pounds of force instantly crumbled.
Immediately after, Shen Yi's long fingers pinched its throat, and with a slight exertion of force, he crushed the ape's cervical spine.
From start to finish, he didn't even glance back once.
His indifferent gaze focused on his palm, where the ape's skull was gradually deforming. With each struggle, he increased the force in his hand.
"Aoooh!"
The old ape in Confucian robes stuttered, its bloodshot eyes filled with confusion as it struggled to understand how someone so familiar could move so far beyond its comprehension.
But the death of one of its brothers had clearly shattered its rationality.
It subconsciously wanted to use Song Changfeng, whom it held in its hand, to order Shen Yi to stop, but before it could speak, its gaze fell on Shen Yi's calm and unperturbed face, and it suddenly realized the truth.
The person Shen Yi held was its brother, while the one in its own hand... meant nothing to Shen Yi.
Enraged, it kicked Song Changfeng away and leaped off the table, shouting, "Stop right there!"
A piercing scream and a dull explosion rang out simultaneously.
Shen Yi retracted his palm and shook off the reddish-white sticky substance that clung to his fingertips.
He glanced sideways at the incoming figure in the air, his palm resting indifferently on the hilt of his sword, about to draw it. However, his movement suddenly slowed.
Black mist rose from the bloodshot eyes of the Confucian-robed ape, and in the next moment, similar black mist emerged from its hair, quickly forming a chain.
The black mist chain exuded an eerie chill, like a writhing dragon, lashing out at Shen Yi!
"...'
Shen Yi frowned slightly, a hint of surprise flashing in his eyes as he witnessed for the first time what was known as a demon art.
The eerie chill was bone-piercingly cold, as if it would freeze a person solid, and it seemed to have the effect of eroding one's consciousness.
Initially, after attaining perfection in his mortal body, he had thought that nothing below the Initial Realm could threaten him, and he hadn't sensed anything transcendent about these three ape demons.
However, at this moment, he finally felt a hint of danger.
As his thoughts raced, his action of drawing his sword changed. Unlike his previous swift and agile movements, this time, he drew his sword much more slowly.
His blood boiled, and he could feel the scorching heat through his skin.
The sword inch by inch left its sheath, and a faint red mist, like blood, flowed along the silver blade.
Suddenly, the sword slashed through the air!
The Confucian-robed ape demon's eyes widened as it watched the youth come within just three feet of it. It seemed that with just a reach, the youth could tear its face apart, yet its sharp claws trembled, unable to make contact.
It lowered its head in bewilderment.
It saw that its Confucian robe was torn, the break remarkably smooth. From the waist down, its two sturdy and powerful thighs fell to the ground with a thud, yet it was still leaping in the air.
"Clang."
Sheathing his sword, Shen Yi stepped over the two halves of the ape demon on the ground.
