Chapter 1094: Zhao Yun
Chapter 1094: Zhao Yun
September 25, 2017
In the Liaodong Prefecture of Youzhou, a battle rages in a mountainous area.
To call it a battle might be a bit of a misnomer; the one-sided slaughter unfolding could more accurately be described as a massacre.
But the word 'massacre' doesn't always carry a negative connotation, and in this case, no one would dare accuse the young man responsible of any wrongdoing.
This young man, the same one who had displayed awe-inspiring prowess at the city walls of Leye, riding a white horse and wielding a silver lance, was now unleashing his fury.
The reason Gongsun Zan's forces couldn't find him after the battle was simple: he had been injured during the fight.
Yes, he was injured. Despite his exceptional strength, he had single-handedly charged into an army of hundreds of thousands. The fact that he managed to wound the enemy leader and end the battle was already an extraordinary feat.
From the moment he charged in, the young man had been prepared to die if he failed. So, surviving the battle was already a stroke of incredible luck for him.
Unbeknownst to the young man, for most people, being injured by the undead meant certain death. The necromancer toxin was not something an ordinary person could withstand.
Fortunately, the young man was exceptionally strong, and he had a powerful backer supporting him.
Although he had been driven down the mountain, his master didn't let him return empty-handed. The old man had prepared various healing and detoxification pills for his beloved disciple.
As soon as the young man was injured, he immediately detected the Necromancer Toxin and, without hesitation, consumed a Mythic-grade detoxification pill, saving his life.
However, the Necromancer Toxin was incredibly potent, and even after taking the Mythic-grade detoxification pill, it took him some time to recover after the battle.
Gongsun Zan's forces couldn't find him because he was busy detoxifying.
Once he had recovered, the young man originally planned to enter the city for supplies. But just then, he sensed an evil aura, similar to the undead army but even more powerful.
Without hesitation, he followed the trail.
To his surprise, the group headed straight for the mountain paths, deep into the mountains. In this terrain, his mythical beast warhorse's speed advantage was nullified, and he ended up chasing them for over a hundred kilometers. Finally, deep within the mountains of Liaodong Prefecture, within Gongsun Zan's defensive line, he caught up and slew each of the demons one by one.
Initially, he hadn't intended to kill them all, as he wanted to leave at least one alive for interrogation. But soon, he realized that wouldn't be necessary.
The deep mountain where the young man was located was already within Gongsun Zan's defensive line. Just a short distance away was the defenseless Liaodong Prefecture.
As he slew these foreign demons, he felt an evil and powerful aura spreading. His face paled, and he quickly found a vantage point on the mountain.
When he reached the high ground and looked down, he was stunned by what he saw. From his position, he could see inside the Liaodong Prefecture, which was now engulfed in flames. Even more alarming, a faint yet distinct red blood light flickered in the sky.
The young man's eyesight was exceptional, allowing him to see a small mountain village several miles away that had been completely ravaged. He could even make out the villagers, who had been slaughtered, staggering to their feet and transforming into the undead he had encountered and slain before.
The young man was utterly bewildered by what he witnessed. Gazing at the scene before him, he muttered, "How could this have happened? How could this have happened? Weren't the undead army stopped? Why is this happening?"
The sight of the village, akin to a living hell, shook the young man to his core.
As the boy murmured in shock, a playful voice suddenly sounded in his ear.
"What? How can this be? Isn't this obvious?"
The voice was soft, but it startled the boy like a thunderclap. He quickly snapped out of his daze and waved the long spear in his hand, immediately pointing it at the 'person' who had suddenly appeared beside him.
"Who are you?"
The 'person' standing before the boy was none other than Qin Mu. Ignoring the boy's questioning, Qin Mu was observing the boy with great interest, his gaze sweeping over him from head to toe, finally settling on the boy's exceptionally handsome face.
"So, you're Zhao Yun, Zhao Zi Long? Indeed, you're quite remarkable. At barely twenty years old, your combat strength has already reached an astonishing 94, and what's more impressive is your incredible combat potential. Well done!"
A hint of surprise flashed in Zhao Yun's eyes, seemingly taken aback by how this person knew his identity. However, he didn't dwell on this question, nor did he have the time to do so.
The person before him was peculiar. Although he appeared as if he couldn't do anything, like someone who could be easily taken down with a single spear thrust, Zhao Yun felt a strong sense of danger from him. This feeling was something Zhao Yun had rarely experienced in his life.
But Zhao Yun was still Zhao Yun, and this sense of danger couldn't faze him. Moreover, from their previous conversation, it was clear that this person wasn't someone to be trusted. Without hesitation, Zhao Yun assumed an offensive stance and demanded, "Cut the chatter. Answer my question. Who are you, and what's your connection with those malevolent ghosts?"
"Oh, you're quite fierce," Qin Mu said, unfazed by Zhao Yun's spear aura. A playful smile played on his face. "If you're so curious, why don't you come with me? I'll tell you everything you want to know!"
Zhao Yun, seeing this situation, furrowed his brows and took action without hesitation.
Although Zhao Yun's face was more beautiful than a woman's, he was no pushover. When it came to action, he didn't waste words; he simply attacked without any preamble, a true man of action.
No need for explanations or beating around the bush; a direct confrontation would reveal the truth.
However, attacking Qin Mu at this moment might not have been the wisest decision. As Zhao Yun thrust his spear, Qin Mu effortlessly stopped it with just one finger, immobilizing Zhao Yun. This clearly demonstrated Qin Mu's formidable strength.
Of course, Qin Mu's ability to effortlessly restrain Zhao Yun was likely related to his general trait, but the reason didn't seem important. What mattered was the result—Zhao Yun was now under his control.
"Calm down, young one. You're no match for me right now. Just lie down and behave!"
After pinning Zhao Yun with a single finger, a smile crept onto Qin Mu's lips. He extended his other hand and reached towards Zhao Yun's forehead, intending to subdue him. But just as his finger was about to touch Zhao Yun, Qin Mu suddenly halted his action.
"Forget it. White Horse Silver Lance Zhao Zi Long was my childhood idol. I won't lay a hand on you."
Suddenly, without any warning, Qin Mu's attitude changed. He disappeared right before Zhao Yun's eyes.
This abrupt disappearance left Zhao Yun completely bewildered, unable to comprehend what had just happened.
After Qin Mu vanished, Zhao Yun finally returned to his senses. As he was about to set off towards Liaodong Prefecture, someone appeared before him, stopping the fearless young man in his tracks.
