Chapter 1087: Seven Mages Fall
Chapter 1087: Seven Mages Fall
A few minutes later, seven Blue Star mages of the Sixth Rank fell amidst the overwhelming Skrull army. Their bodies were completely annihilated under a barrage of spells, reduced to nothing but dust.
The Skrull forces were overwhelmingly powerful, and the mages were like delicate flowers blooming in a fierce blizzard, quickly withering and dying.
The seven players were: Tian Tian (Game ID: Pastoral Symphony), Kang Wenliang (Game ID: Do Not Answer), Shen Jialin (Game ID: Sixth Finger), Satou Eriko (Game ID: Smiling Sakura), Suzuki Genri (Game ID: Suzuki Conglomerate Boss), Perrin Doyle (Game ID: Son of Michelangelo), and Angust Muhammad (Game ID: Holy Spirit).
These seven players sacrificed their lives in front of everyone, giving humanity a painful lesson.
The atmosphere at the Xuanwu Node was unusually somber. Many people knew what had happened and wore expressions of deep sorrow.
Su Yu's face was grim as he announced loudly, "To all the troops, Tian Tian, Kang Wenliang, Shen Jialin, Satou Eriko, Suzuki Genri, Perrin Doyle, and Angust Muhammad, these seven brave warriors used the [Invisibility Spell] to infiltrate the Skrull camp. They aimed to sacrifice themselves to destroy the Skrull's newly built Disintegration Ray Tower.
They did not succeed and were discovered by the Skrulls, leading to their deaths in the Skrull army.
Although they failed, they sacrificed themselves for a just cause, and their spirit will be forever remembered by us! After the war, I will build a grand monument, and their names will be eternally inscribed on it, never to be forgotten!"
Su Yu's voice echoed throughout the Xuanwu Node, but he did not mention the matter of "resurrection."
While the front-line troops generally knew they would be resurrected after the war, this was a widely known secret that was not to be discussed in public.
When Su Yu mentioned the "monument," everyone understood his meaning. After the war, Su Yu would certainly be among the first to resurrect them.
The True Red-Eyed Black Dragon, who was fighting at the front, sighed. He communicated with his companion, Thousand Cups, using mental energy. "Curator Gu, I have to say, the return of Emperor Dixin is truly significant.
If it weren't for his promise of resurrection, we probably wouldn't be so willing to sacrifice ourselves, right?"
"Definitely. Fear of death is a universal human trait. Emperor Dixin has solved our greatest problem," Thousand Cups agreed.
Thousand Cups continued to focus his gaze on the front, as if trying to see through the chaotic battlefield to a specific location.
The spot he was looking at was where Yun Zhongmu had disappeared.
Not only Thousand Cups, but all the high-ranking humans and Skrulls were also watching this spot.
They all wondered—where had Yun Zhongmu gone?
Among them, Morgan Leryang was the most concerned.
After easily dispatching the seven Blue Star high-rank mages, he immediately noticed the issue—where had the big fish in the enemy's formation gone?
He quickly threw a handful of [Revelation Dust], and the silver particles instantly covered a two-kilometer radius where Yun Zhongmu had disappeared.
He had expected the [Revelation Dust] to easily reveal Yun Zhongmu, but something unexpected happened—the silver particles did not reveal his form!
This realization made him tense.
He had seen Yun Zhongmu drink a high-quality potion, and since the [Revelation Dust] had not worked, it meant that—Yun Zhongmu, under the effect of the potion, had become immune to the [Revelation Dust].
Morgan Leisun wondered if the target had managed to run out of the 3-kilometer range in such a short time, or if the Revealing Dust had simply failed to work. Both scenarios seemed plausible.
Without hesitation, Morgan immediately expanded the coverage of the Revealing Dust. He poured out all the powder from his bag, extending the range to 5 kilometers, nearly reaching the front lines of the two civilizations’ battle.
But even after the silver dust spread across the sky, there was still no sign of the silver figure he was looking for. This made Morgan take a deep breath.
The Cloud Herder couldn’t possibly move that fast while being invisible, which meant the Revealing Dust had likely failed!
Noticing Morgan’s difficulty, the Skrull deities, especially Hiber, the nearest and most powerful among them, offered their assistance. “What’s wrong? Can’t find that Earthling? Need help?”
Morgan was about to decline, but then he remembered he had one more trick up his sleeve.
“I do need help, Lord Hiber. Could you temporarily lend me a third of your mental energy?”
“Lend? How exactly?”
“This is how it works…”
After a brief explanation, Morgan successfully borrowed a third of Hiber’s mental energy. He activated a high-level secret technique he had mastered but rarely used, using Hiber’s mental energy to amplify the spell.
An orange-red halo circled around him, and above his head, a large, dark purple circle of light appeared.
This was a highly advanced tracking spell, and using it might reveal the Cloud Herder’s location.
Morgan quickly cast the spell in all directions—north, south, east, and west.
To his delight, the spell worked! Shortly after casting it, he detected a peculiar aura in one direction. The aura was so unique that a quick analysis revealed it couldn’t possibly belong to a Skrull. It lacked any trace of Skrull essence!
If the aura wasn’t Skrull and was within the Skrull army, it had to be the Cloud Herder!
Morgan was elated.
“That seventh-rank Earthling is in that direction!” Morgan pointed to a direction 30 degrees south of east. “I don’t know his exact location, but he’s definitely in that direction!”
That direction?
The high-rank Skrulls around Morgan all turned to look at the direction he pointed to. They released their mental energies, scanning the ground and space in that direction.
“Everyone above seventh-rank, let’s move in,” Morgan commanded. “Everyone in that direction, clear out. We’ll use a blanket attack to force the Earthling out!”
“Understood, Your Highness.”
The three seventh-ranks near Morgan and three more not far away responded in unison. They quickly formed a six-person squad, preparing to launch a blanket attack in the direction Morgan indicated.
All the armies and warships in the direction Morgan pointed to quickly moved out of the way to avoid being caught in the crossfire.
Morgan closed his eyes again, continuing to use the secret technique to monitor the direction of the Cloud Herder.
This time, he couldn’t let him escape!
