Chapter 1078: Surrender or Not?
Chapter 1078: Surrender or Not?
Three figures stood before them. In red was Vinsmoke Yiji, the eldest son of the Vinsmoke Family.
In blue was Vinsmoke Niji, the second son of the Vinsmoke Family.
In green was Vinsmoke Yonji, the fourth son of the Vinsmoke Family.
On Baby-5's side, a pink silhouette blocked her assault path, smirking, "Sweetie, this isn't your playground."
Vinsmoke Reiju, the eldest daughter of the Vinsmoke Family.
"Vinsmoke Family officers?!" Baby-5 spat. "I've heard about you cyborgs from my young master—not that I should call him that anymore—from Donquixote Doflamingo! Don't get in my way. I'm here to conquer this place for the King!"
"Dressrosa?" Reiju glanced around, puzzled. "We don't have any grudge with you. Why attack us? Your territory should be in the New World."
Bang!
As she spoke, Yonji punched through a Meteor Hammer, shattering it into fragments. Stepping forward amidst the falling debris, he shouted angrily, "Sister, why bother talking? Just wipe them all out!"
They had been reflecting on their escape from Charlotte Big Mom's tea party, saved by Sanji's intervention. But their contemplation had been brief. With the World Government stripping their status and offending the Four Emperors, the New World was no longer an option. Now they were retreating to their North Blue homeland.
They hadn't gone looking for trouble, yet someone dared attack them.
The Vinsmokes weren't easy prey!
"Accelerate!" Yonji roared, suddenly flashing toward the enemy. With a crimson gleam in his eyes, he clenched his fist and raised it, red energy swirling. "Die, Winch Slam—"
"Wait, Yonji!" Reiju suddenly cried, reaching out.
Too late. Before the final syllable escaped, a wispy gust snapped through the air. Yonji's bloodline-enhanced reflexes flared, his body instinctively arching backward. A violent wind screamed overhead, whipping his battle cloak's hood and carving raw pain across his face like a brutal punch.
"A sword?!" he gasped, watching the black blur vanish behind him.
Above, a jet-black greatsword glimmered under the moonlight.
"Oh? You dodged. Not bad reflexes", a calm voice murmured.
Boom!!
Before the words faded, Yonji felt a thunderous impact. His body flew backward, crashing into a cluster of Germasoldiers, sending them sprawling like scattered leaves.
"That's..."
Reiju's pupils constricted. Before she could fully register, the figure blurred again—a wolf-like dash toward Niji, who was parrying Rebecca's blade, his arm crackling with electricity. A shadow flickered past, and Niji's waist buckled as if struck by a cannonball. A muffled grunt escaped him before he soared backward.
Yiji reacted swiftly, releasing his foot from Cyrus's greatsword to unleash a flame-wreathed punch. "Spark·Whirlwind!"
"Too slow."
The figure simply vanished, dodging the flaming strike. A flash across Yiji's chest sent him reeling, his body arcing backward to land beside Niji and Yonji.
Finally, the attacker stood still—a man clad in wolf-like armor, gripping a massive greatsword, spine straight as an arrow.
"It's him", Reiju breathed, eyes wide with dread. "The Wolf King?!"
That armor—unmistakable. Especially to those versed in nation-building. The man who transformed Dressrosa into a New World supreme ruler-tier nation. The new king, known worldwide as the 'Conqueror King' and 'Wolf King.'
David Pancha!
"Your Majesty!" Cyrus, Rebecca, and Tanku bowed in unison.
"Your Majesty!" Baby-5 rushed forward, guiltily protesting. "Why did you come personally? We could've handled this!"
"You're too slow", David's voice growled from within the armor. "A day's nearly gone, and this ceremony's still incomplete. I can't report to my lord like this."
Report?
What did he mean?
Reiju's heart clenched. Was this an assignment from someone?
Big Mom?!
"Hey! King David! What do you want?!" Reiju demanded.
"Oh? Another one left?" David turned, eyes sweeping Reiju. "I know you. My lord once analyzed your family. You're the only one in the Vinsmoke Family—aside from that chef Luffy has—with any humanity. I'll speak to you, but you're not in charge."
"What do you mean?!" Reiju cried.
David ignored her, pivoting toward a distant castle. "I'm here. Are you really hiding like a rat, Gajeel?!"
His voice boomed toward the fortress. Silence fell. Then electric sparks crackled. A man in a gray battle suit and an orange-hooded cloak, golden hair cascading like a lion's mane, appeared in a flash.
The current Vinsmoke Family leader—Vinsmoke Judge!
Clutching a long spear, his expression grim, he glared at David. "What do you want, David?!"
He'd been holed up here, gathering strength for his grand ambition. Why had this man come now?!
"Surrender."
David lowered his greatsword slightly, legs bending, torso hunching like a hunting wolf. "Surrender to Dressrosa. Hand over your technology and soldiers. Serve the Justice Cause!"
Gajeel gaped, then barked out a laugh. "So you're here to steal my tech?"
"Are you kidding yourself, David?!" Gajeel snarled, his voice thunderous. "Do you think we're some weak nation you've conquered? The Germa has power too! Those nations you've taken—we could've done the same! We're just in the North Blue! Give us the same ground, and we'd surpass Dressrosa a hundredfold!"
"So... you refuse?"
No one could see David's face beneath the armor. He lowered his sword further, his body coiling tighter.
"I don't have time for explanations. Last question—Surrender OR Not?!"
"Stop joking!" Gajeel roared. "Even Big Mom couldn't take my technology! You won't either!"
"Is that so?" David's voice turned frosty. "Then let military force decide."
Without another word, he tensed fully, sword sweeping behind his back. His body lunged forward. "I'll make you kneel first."
