Chapter 1074: Worthy of a Drink
Chapter 1074: Worthy of a Drink
After the banquet, the Fire God Ape and the Ancient Swordshark arrived at Zhen Jian Peak together.
Jian Zhenxuan, leading Jin Zaian and Yuan Rongyuanyue, greeted them, as their Nascent Soul cultivation was already at an advanced stage.
"Greetings, Senior Fire God Ape, Elder Yan, and fellow Daoists," they said with respect.
The group bowed in greeting.
"Greetings, Swordmaster," Elder Yan replied, "It's been many years, and your Sword Sect's cultivation has become even more formidable."
Elder Yan and the others quickly returned the salute.
The Fire God Ape remained silent, nodding slightly towards Jian Zhenxuan.
Jian Zhenxuan didn't mind; the ape before him had lived for at least a few thousand years and was the guardian divine beast of the Fire God Palace. With a high rank of the eighth stage, he didn't have much of a chance against it with his current strength. It was perfectly normal for him to be a bit arrogant.
"Jian Zhenxuan, arrange accommodations for these fellow Daoists from the Fire God Palace. I'll go and have a good chat with this old friend of mine."
The Ancient Swordshark spoke in a deep voice.
"Alright, Elder Yan, follow me this way," Jian Zhenxuan nodded with a smile and led Elder Yan towards the peak of the Sword Peak.
As for the remaining Fire God Palace cultivators, other Sword Sect disciples took care of their hospitality.
Deep within the Sword Peak.
The Ancient Swordshark returned to his lair and immediately coiled around the silver-white giant pillar.
The Fire God Ape approached the pillar, circled it a few times, and clicked his tongue in admiration.
"Your Sword Sect has treated you well, old fellow. To help you prolong your life as much as possible, they've crafted such a treasure for you."
"I have no choice. With this treasure, I can better maintain my spiritual consciousness," the Ancient Swordshark replied at a leisurely pace, already accustomed to his old friend's chatty nature.
"To live a few more years, you've been hiding in this shell, what's the point?" The Fire God Ape said with disdain.
"Why not learn from me and live freely, doing as you please?"
"You've lived for thousands of years, and you've seen everything. Yet, you still wander around even when death is near."
"Why not be like me and spend your days in your Daoist mansion, savoring fine brews?" The Ancient Swordshark calmly retorted, and a small white jade bottle filled with silver-gray spirit liquid appeared before his head. The True Sword Essence from Jian Zhenxuan turned into a small stream and flowed into his mouth.
"You know, that spirit brew is quite something. It's worth a drink," the Fire God Ape said, smacking his lips.
"To brew a fifth-rank spirit brew of such quality, your Sword Sect disciple has clearly been held back by your Cave Profound Sword Sect."
He spoke with a mocking tone.
"You, old monkey, underestimate my Sword Sect disciple so much?"
"This fellow is not only skilled in brewing spirit brew but also possesses profound abilities in the sword path, spirit planting, and symbol creation. He surpasses all your Fire God Palace disciples in these areas."
The Ancient Swordshark blew on the silver-white beard hanging on both sides of his head, and the surrounding sword intent surged like flames, unceasing.
"Is that so? How did your Sword Sect get so lucky as to find an all-around talent?" The Fire God Ape asked in confusion.
"Wait and see; I'll show you the depth of my Sword Sect."
The two beasts, having not seen each other for many years, enjoyed bickering and teasing each other without holding back.
Time passed unnoticed, and before they knew it, a day had gone by, yet both beasts remained full of energy, showing no signs of fatigue.
"Alright, you old fellow, with your sharp tongue, it's time to rest. I'll call that disciple to bring you some superior spirit brew!"
The Ancient Swordshark stretched his long body and lazily coiled around the silver-white pillar.
"If the next batch doesn't match the quality of the True Sword Essence, I won't let you off easily, old fellow," the Fire God Ape said, sitting on a bright red stone chair and shouting to the Ancient Swordshark from a distance.
"Just wait and see," the Ancient Swordshark replied confidently, and a small, inch-long dragon shadow flashed past, enveloped in a sword aura.
At the peak of Jian Peak.
Lu Xuan was cultivating spirit plants in the Spirit Field when suddenly, his spirit perception sensed something outside his Daoist mansion.
A slender swordshark coiled around a small silver-white sword, hovering at the entrance.
"A message from the Ancient Swordshark?" Lu Xuan wondered.
He flashed over and sent out a strand of his spirit perception onto the swordshark, and instantly, a familiar voice echoed in his ear.
"Lu Xuan, come to my Daoist mansion. My old friend has arrived."
"Finally, the friend of the Ancient Swordshark must be someone extraordinary," Lu Xuan thought to himself.
"With the special ability to discern information about spirit beasts, it's not difficult for me to win over a spirit beast."
Lu Xuan was confident as he ventured deeper into Jian Peak.
After passing through numerous barriers, Lu Xuan saw the Ancient Swordshark coiled around a silver-white pillar, and in the air, there was an ape-like creature resembling a burning flame.
"Greetings to both seniors!" Lu Xuan bowed respectfully.
"Hmm." The Fire God Ape nodded slightly at Lu Xuan, giving face to the Ancient Swordshark.
"This is the Fire God Ape, a divine beast from the Fire God Palace. He's a bit sharp-tongued, but his temperament is decent. Go ahead and offer your spirit brew and spirit fruit."
"That's right. Even if it kills me, it's that old fellow's fault," the Fire God Ape said with a smile that didn't quite reach his eyes.
"Please, senior, have a taste," Lu Xuan said, unsure of how these two ancient monsters interacted. He took out several bottles of spirit brew he had prepared earlier.
"In my life, I've always loved rare and exotic spirit plants, and along the way, I've gained some knowledge of various spirit brews."
"Currently, I have mastered four types of Fifth Rank Spirit Brews: True Sword Essence, Green Dew, Ape Demon Wine, and Heart Flame Wine."
He took out two bottles of each Fifth Rank Spirit Brew and offered them to the Ancient Swordshark and the Fire God Ape.
The Fire God Ape's background was truly impressive, so Lu Xuan didn't bring out the Fourth Rank Jade Cleansing Dew or the Ice Marrow Spirit Brew.
"Not bad, you have four types," the Fire God Ape said, bypassing the True Sword Essence he had already tried. He picked up a bottle of green spirit liquid.
"This is Green Dew, which I collected from high-grade spirit plants at dawn. It's brewed with various spirit fruits and flowers, resulting in a fresh and natural taste. It has excellent nourishing effects on the divine soul and physical body, strengthening the divine soul and purifying the physical body, while also possessing strong healing properties."
Lu Xuan explained quickly.
"Flowery words," the Fire God Ape commented briefly before taking a large gulp of the Green Dew.
"The quality is decent, but the taste is too bland, not much different from drinking water. It's ordinary." He shifted his gaze to the Heart Flame Wine beside it.
On the surface of the golden spirit liquid, a faint white flame burned quietly.
Seeing the bottle of fire-attributed spirit liquid, the Heart Flame Wine, the Fire God Ape's eyes lit up with interest.
He took a gentle sip, and a mouthful of Heart Flame Wine flowed down his throat.
Instantly, a scorching aura coursed through his body, making him feel incredibly refreshed.
"Excellent wine! This is the kind of fine brew we should be drinking!"
"That boy, is this the Heart Flame Wine?" the Fire God Ape asked, turning to Lu Xuan.
"Yes, senior, it's the Heart Flame Wine. It's brewed primarily from Fifth Rank fire-attributed spirit plants and has an extremely powerful and domineering force," Lu Xuan replied concisely, having grasped the Fire God Ape's preferences.
At his level, the Fire God Ape no longer cared about the effects of the spirit brew; he valued the taste itself.
"It's better than the True Sword Essence and worth a drink," the Fire God Ape said with a slight smile.
