She swept her gaze around.

She turned to the other half of the bird’s body and extracted the tail.

After extracting the tail and putting it inside a pouch, she got up and swept her gaze around her surroundings once more before finally settling on a direction.

High up on a tree branch was a 20-foot-long green snake that was as thick as an adult's arm hissing at Vivian while aggressively climbing down.

Vivian let out a small chuckle.

“Take your time. No need to rush.”

When the snake finally reached the ground, it immediately slithered its way to Vivian.

The snake immediately raised its head and launched an attack when it reached about 4ft away from Vivian.

Chud!

Vivian focused, causing the world to move slowly in her eyes, and she easily caught the snake’s head with her left hand.

Squish!

And before the snake could wrap its body around Vivian, its head was crushed.

“Shit!” Vivian exclaimed as she backed away.

Although the snake was already “dead”, its body curled, wiggled and thrashed around.

Heh~...

So snakes are like lizard tails...?

I didn’t know that...

Or is that unique to this world...?

She shook her head.

“Whatever.”

A couple of seconds later, the snake’s body finally stopped moving and Vivian approached and examined it.

Hmm…

Now that I think about it…

This is a Green Ekan…

And Pana mentioned that this can inject poison…

She turned to her left hand and opened her palm. There were unknown fluids left on her glove.

That was stupid…

She wiped her hand on the grass.

Her face twisted and the world slowed down.

She grabbed the rabbit by its horn and raised it up.

The rabbit cried out and thrashed around, trying to break free.

“You little shit!”

Ba-crack!

Vivian slammed the rabbit's body against the ground with full force and she heard the sound of bones breaking.

Ba-crack!

Thud!

She slammed the animal’s body on the ground once again. But this time around, the seashell-like horn snapped the body flew a couple of feet away.

Vooom!

Vivian appeared next to the animal and shifted the horn on her hand, holding it like a stake.

Chak!

She stabbed the animal's body with its own horn, pinning it down on the ground.

Spit!

"Motherfucker!" she cursed and then got up.

[Heal].

A faint yellow light enveloped her body the pain she felt on her left calf vanish.

She glanced at her left calf.

“The little shit came out of nowhere!”

She turned to the animal-like rabbit.

This little shit really came out of nowhere…

There wasn’t even a sound --

A thought popped inside her head, causing a dark expression to appear on her face.

How many enemies would I encounter like this…?

And it’s not like I can always use that slow-mo effect…

Although the “slow-mo” effect was effective in fighting, there was one major flaw -- it was taxing to use, both physically and mentally, but more of the latter. Because of this, she would turn it on and off every now and then. And when it becomes very taxing to her, she would take a break.

Vivian returned her attention on the dead animal.

This animal…

What was its name again…?

I think it's Paparu…

Her gazed focused on the seashell-like horn pinning down the rabbit.

She burst out into a run. But just after a few steps, a fox suddenly jumped out of bush with its mouth wide mouth.

However, due to Vivian’s speed, the fox it miss and landed on the ground a couple of feet away from her.

Vivian stopped and turned around.

How dare you ambush me…!

The fox was still half-way turning when Vivian landed a kicked on its rib and it's body exploded into two pieces, causing blood and guts flew in the air with a few of them landing on Vivian.

A few managed to land on Vivian's lips and she immediately began spitting.

“What the fuck…?!”

She spat out one last time before wiping her lips with the back of her hand.

"The fuck was that…!?"

She put down her poleaxe and began checking her body. There were bits and pieces of the fox on her whole body, including her hair.

"Oh my God, fucking disgusting…!"

She picked up her polexaxe and then head to a tree where there were no bushes.

The last thing I want is to get another surprise attack…!

She raised her head and looked at the tree.

Okay…

No birds or snakes…
