Naoki sat by the lake with Golurk, gazing contemplatively at the sky above, where fluffy clouds drifted lazily.
Not far away, a group had gathered around an Aerodactyl, listening to its tale of recent adventures.
Naoki and Golurk kept their distance, opting to admire the unique scenery of the island instead.
Despite the island's location in the depths of the ocean, the atmosphere felt no different from that of the mainland, perhaps influenced by the power of the Aerodactyls.
The circular lake, encircled by a ring of foliage, resembled a full moon cradled gently in the embrace of the sea.
Naoki could easily imagine the scene at night.
—The lake reflecting the night sky, a bright moon hanging overhead, and its reflection rippling in the lake waters, disturbed only by the playful swimming of Dratinis. As they swam, the moon's reflection would shatter into fragments that danced upon the waves.

Naoki's mind painted these images as he lay upon the soft grass, the sunlight filtering through the trees above, casting dappled shadows, and a gentle breeze caressing his face.
A sense of peace filled his heart, and he lay down beside Golurk, gazing up through the central ring at the vast blue sky.
Suddenly, a shadow fell over him, and he looked up to see several diminutive and adorable Dratinis huddled around his head, their large eyes curiously examining him as he lay on the ground.
Their shadows blocked the light, and their expressions seemed to question why this human had chosen to lie down.
Naoki paused, then reached out to poke the cheek of one of the legendary baby dragons.
Feeling the softness beneath his fingers, a smile spread across Naoki's face.
The tiny Dratinis felt smooth and squishy.
Surrounded by these adorable legendary babies, Naoki felt like he had reached the pinnacle of life.
The Dratinis were so cute!
However, compared to Dragonite, Kingdra, and other dragon-type Pokemon, Aerodactyl was remarkably gentle and friendly, whether toward humans or its young.
"Wuu~"
The Dratini that Naoki poked let out a melodious and innocent cry.
Naoki sat up and started searching the lake for the shiny Dratini he had seen earlier.

Indeed, it was a shiny Dratini!
Regular Dratinis had a light blue hue, but this one boasted a delicate pink shade, giving it a very girlish and adorable appearance.
The shy Dratini, brought over by its companion, eyed Naoki cautiously.
Observing this, Naoki guessed that the Dratini had a timid personality.
As he reached out to touch it, the Dratini's face immediately contorted with fear.
If he had known that Aerodactyl would bring him to Dragon Island, he would have brought all the snacks from his refrigerator.
Naoki could only try to convey his friendly intentions: "Don't be afraid. We won't hurt you. We just want to be friends."
But the Mini Dragon still seemed terrified.
Following its gaze, Naoki soon understood the source of its fear.
"Ah gah see..."
Golurk, noticing Naoki's stare, immediately donned an innocent expression.

Just as he was about to say something more, the gathered Aerodactyls suddenly ceased their conversation.
A wild Aerodactyl flew in from the sky and landed slowly on the island.
Naoki noticed his own Aerodactyl looking tense and nervous as it faced the newcomer.

As everyone knows, Pokemon, like humans, can fall in love and reproduce.
For example, in the anime, Meowth had a crush on a female Meowth named Madonna, but she chose to be with Meowth's gang leader instead.
Some Pokemon may even develop feelings for other species, as exemplified by a memorable line from the anime: "Tropius fell in love with Nurse Joy's big chrysanthemum."
Now, watching Aerodactyl muster the courage to approach, Naoki was reminded of a shy teenager confessing his feelings to a crush.
Aerodactyl looked nervous and shy as it stepped forward, saying something to the wild Aerodactyl.
Immediately after, Naoki saw the wild Aerodactyl assume a battle stance.
Puzzled, Naoki asked, "What are they doing?"
"Ah ga see..." Golurk didn't understand such matters, but he recognized the wild Aerodactyl.
Hakuryu, standing nearby, also watched the unfolding scene and quietly answered Naoki's question:
"Wu..." (That Aerodactyl is confessing its feelings...)
However, all the Aerodactyls on the island knew that this particular female Aerodactyl was special.
She was incredibly strong, defeating every Aerodactyl who confessed to her without exception.
According to her, only an Aerodactyl who could defeat her in battle would be worthy of becoming her mate and helping her raise stronger Mini Dragons.
Unfortunately, Naoki couldn't understand the Pokemon language, so he was oblivious to Hakuryu's explanation.
All he saw was his Aerodactyl engaging in a battle with the female Aerodactyl.
The battle commenced, and the female Aerodactyl unleashed her full power, exuding a terrifying killing intent as she dove toward Aerodactyl.
Initially startled by this formidable-looking attack, Aerodactyl quickly regained his composure.
He dodged the Dragon Rush with increased speed and then used Rain Dance.
Dark clouds gathered, and heavy rain began to pour from the sky.
Aerodactyl flapped its wings, creating a storm, as the wind and rain howled and swept across the island.
In an instant, the female Aerodactyl found herself enveloped by the raging storm.
Her face reflected her shock.
Though she wondered why this Aerodactyl, who had struggled to learn powerful moves in the past, had become so formidable, she gritted her teeth and focused on the battle at hand.
She wouldn't be defeated that easily!
