On the other hand, Warden Yingqi had made their lives miserable over the past few days.
So when the Chief appeared to take over the duel against Warden Yingqi, the prisoners unexpectedly began cheering for him, hoping he would give the detested Warden a good beating.

Yingqi’s plump face broke into a fawning smile. Normally, as a subordinate, he would have insisted that the Chief go first, perhaps even throwing the duel to curry favor. But today was different. As a Warden with only one significant appearance in the series, Yingqi’s deck was specially themed around chains, known as the “Chain” deck. Most of the cards in his deck had been released as real cards, giving him one of the better treatments among the many animated decks.

Yingqi’s face was a mask of feigned respect. Inwardly, he was quite confident in his dueling skills, which were among the best in the Law Enforcement Bureau. If not for his own addiction to dueling, he would never have accepted a bet to duel a prisoner.
As for Chief Godwin?
Yingqi had little interaction with the Chief, but from what he had heard over the years, no one had ever seen the Chief engage in a public duel.
Anyone skilled at dueling usually had some form of card addiction, and there would have been some talk of his dueling prowess. But there was nothing about Chief Godwin.
So Yingqi concluded that even if the Chief had hidden his true skills, they probably weren’t anything special.

The Chief of the Law Enforcement Bureau was different from what Yusei had imagined. At least so far, his first impression was positive—someone who seemed to be a fair and upright duelist. Yusei was curious to see how this legendary Chief would duel.

The ancient tribal magician bore a sun emblem with a human face on his chest. This was the card Youxuan had seized from the Dark Marked one, Godwin, after the latter's demise.

The prisoners began to stir.
"Is the warden going to perform a Synchro Summon right from the start!?"
"Level 2, Tuner monster 'Tenshu Warrior.'
Plus Level 5, 'Sun Priest,' tuning!"
The Tenshu Warrior transformed into two starlight rings, while the Sun Priest's body was enveloped by the rings, gradually condensing into five stars that formed a shining line of starlight.

—Level 7, Seven Sword Warrior!"
A warrior clad in golden armor, wielding two gleaming swords, appeared. The swords' energy slashes cut through the air, creating a powerful shockwave.

Yusei, watching from the sidelines, was taken aback: "Seven Sword Warrior?"
A Synchro monster just like mine.
The Seven Sword Warrior was one of the Synchro monsters Yusei used in the original manga, which he had found while scavenging in the Satellite. Seeing the warden choose a monster similar to his own, Yusei felt a growing sense of respect.
Yingqi, however, felt a growing unease.
What's going on? A Synchro Summon right from the start? This warden doesn't seem weak at all.
"Battle phase", Youxuan declared. "Seven Sword Warrior, attack the 'Chain Mechanic.'"
The Seven Sword Warrior's blade sliced through the air, sending a crescent-shaped energy wave toward the Chain Mechanic.
Yingqi gathered his thoughts and focused, thinking that even if the warden was stronger than expected, his years of Dueling experience wouldn't be for nothing. "Then, activate my Cover Card, Continuous Trap 'Soul Anchor'!
When activated, Soul Anchor equips to one of my monsters. The equipped monster cannot be destroyed in battle!"
Yingqi pointed to the Chain Mechanic on his field.
"Equip it to Chain Mechanic!"
Chains shot out from the Trap Card, wrapping around the Chain Mechanic like armor. The Seven Sword Warrior's sword clashed with the chains, producing a sharp, ringing sound.
Youxuan said, "But battle damage still applies."

The moment his Life Points dropped, a blue electric arc burst from Yingqi's Duel Disk, sending a surge of electricity through his body. The intense shock made Yingqi's eyes widen, and he let out a series of pained screams.
Yingqi fell to one knee, drenched in sweat, and exclaimed in shock and fear, "What... Why!?"
He knew about this electric shock system, as he had ordered its creation. It was originally designed to torture and toy with prisoners, and in the original anime, it was used on Yusei.
Whenever a Duelist lost Life Points, they would receive an electric shock proportional to the damage. However, Yingqi had cheated by not activating the system on his own Duel Disk, so only Yusei would be shocked when he lost Life Points, while Yingqi remained unaffected.
"I've heard that Warden Yingqi enjoys these electric shock Duels with prisoners, finding them quite stimulating."
Youxuan smiled.
"Before we started, I had already ordered your people to activate the electric shock system. Surely, Warden Yingqi wouldn't refuse to play with me, for the sake of my friend Godwin?"
Yingqi's face turned pale, and he shook his head profusely, drenched in sweat. "N-no, no, no."
Yusei, listening from behind the cell, felt a chill run down his spine.
Could it be that this warden originally intended to use this electric shock system in his Duel with me?
