The Earthbound God Wiracocha Rasca, towering as high as a building, appeared outside the window, draining the souls of those in the surrounding area. Any normal person would have been paralyzed with fear at such a sight.
But this young man had maintained his composure throughout, as if everything was under his control. And from the outcome, it seemed that indeed, everything was.
Of course, the young man had clearly known about the effect of Godwin's Earthbound God from the start. The Grand Reversal Puzzle, this strategy was clearly aimed at his Earthbound God.

"You want to know where I'm from, right?" Godwin sighed. "Indeed, the Rex Godwin of this timeline is already dead. You're quite perceptive, even though I have no idea how you figured it out. I come from a slightly more distant future, a time when I should have already been defeated, and all my plans utterly destroyed."
Youxuan asked, "By Yusei Fudo?"
Godwin nodded.
"For thousands, even tens of thousands of years, the Red Dragon and the King of the Underworld have been at odds, constantly warring. I wanted to end it all. My plan succeeded, and I obtained the powers of both the Red Dragon and the King of the Underworld. All the Dragon Marks and Shadow Marks were concentrated in me. But then Yusei Fudo and his companions came to stop me, and we had the ultimate Ride Duel."
"And you lost", Youxuan said.
Up to this point, it sounded like the original 5D's anime plot. Yusei activated the Red Dragon Imprint Machine and printed a fresh "Savior Star Dragon", which sent both the Earthbound God and Godwin straight to Paradise. This marked the end of the first phase of 5D's. It seemed Youxuan's earlier suspicions were correct: the Godwin before him was from a slightly more distant future, a time when he should have already been defeated by Yusei and his allies.
"But just after I was defeated, 'he' appeared", Godwin said solemnly.
Youxuan asked, "Who?"
Godwin only shook his head.
"I don't know. He never showed his face; I never saw what he looked like. After my defeat, I felt myself in darkness, my consciousness almost fading away. But then, that voice appeared. He told me that this wasn't the end. If I wanted, I could get a second chance, a chance to start over. This time, everything would be different."
Youxuan said, "So you were sent back to now?"
"Not exactly. I was sent back about a week in the past. I killed the version of myself from this timeline and took his place. The voice told me that my methods were wrong. To reshape the world, to remake everything, I was too cautious, too conservative. I needed to eliminate all the Dragon Marked and Shadow Marked. He assured me that the world would be reshaped according to my desires, ensuring that neither Dragon Marked nor Shadow Marked would ever appear again."
Youxuan pondered, "So you were manipulated by that voice?"
Godwin had no idea who the mysterious force was, but Youxuan had some suspicions. When he first entered, he felt a familiar aura around Godwin, likely left by the entity that sent him through time. The Elder Gods mentioned that this aura was similar to the one who claimed to want to break their seals, suggesting they might be the same person or at least connected. It seemed this entity was quite busy, with a wide range of operations, and was causing trouble in more than one world.
Just as they were talking, urgent footsteps and a sharp voice came from outside the door.
"Sir! What just happened!?"
