Chapter 1061: Curse Herald vs. Treasure Seeker
Chapter 1061: Curse Herald vs. Treasure Seeker
So quickly, it seems that in Flame Sky Star, Notaries are as easy to find as picking one up on the street... Qiao Sang thought to himself and said, “Let’s go now.”
“Xunxun!”
Treasure Seeker floated over to its Beastmaster, showing off its gleaming golden armor, ready for action. Then it remembered something, removed its Ring, and tried to pull out a shield from inside.
The sudden burst of golden light nearly blinded Jacqueline and Fulutian Tian, who raised their hands to shield their eyes.
At this moment, Migala slowly said, “In Flame Sky Star, Professional Beastmasters and their familiars do not use Artifacts or Spirit Patterns in battles by default.”
Hearing this, Qiao Sang said, “Treasure Seeker, take off your Artifacts.”
“Xunxun...”
Treasure Seeker reluctantly removed its Artifacts and placed them back into the Ring.
Jacqueline glanced at Migala, hesitating to speak.
“Steel Chief.”
Steel Treasure called out and began leading the way.
The group followed behind.
When they reached the first floor, they saw Curse Herald standing at the door, talking to a familiar that was about three meters tall, mostly brown, and appeared to be made of rock.
Rocksharp Golem, a Ground-type High-Class Beast Companion, known for its thick and honest nature, with a body as hard as iron, capable of scanning its surroundings with sound... Qiao Sang recalled the familiar’s information.
“Rocksharp?”
Rocksharp Golem turned to look at the three humans emerging from the shop, calling out in a questioning manner.
“Curse Herald.”
Curse Herald pointed at Qiao Sang.
“Rocksharp.”
Rocksharp Golem approached Qiao Sang and handed over a red document.
Qiao Sang took it, opened it, and found it to be a C-Class Notary’s certificate, complete with Rocksharp Golem’s photo.
Migala stepped closer, glanced at the document, and said, “A C-Class Notary is technically not qualified to officiate a Royal Tier Beast battle, but as long as both parties agree, it’s fine.”
Notaries have ranks, and for a Royal Tier Beast match, at least a B-Class Notary is required.
“I have no objections,” Qiao Sang said, closing the document and returning it to Rocksharp Golem.
“Curse Herald.”
Curse Herald called out, indicating it had no objections either.
“Rocksharp.”
Rocksharp Golem put away the document, smiled, pointed to the left, and then walked in that direction.
Curse Herald immediately followed.
Qiao Sang, the two teachers, and Fangy and the others closely followed behind.
After about ten minutes of walking, they arrived at a Beastmaster Battle Club in the city center.
Rocksharp Golem approached the front desk and spoke with the staff, then turned to look at Qiao Sang.
Curse Herald also looked over.
“A single battle costs 288 Union Coins. Would you like to pay by card or cash?” the staff member asked with a smile, following Rocksharp Golem and Curse Herald’s gaze.
Qiao Sang internally grumbled at the high cost but looked at Teacher Jacqueline.
Jacqueline quickly stepped forward and paid.
“Please proceed to the arena,” the staff member said, pointing in the direction.
Rocksharp Golem seemed very familiar with the place and led the way without needing to ask.
The group followed behind.
“Why is the cost per battle?” Qiao Sang couldn’t help but ask.
“Because there are many battles, but limited arenas,” Migala explained. “There are also arenas that charge by the half-hour or hour. Your match with Curse Herald involves Royal Tier Beasts, and a single battle can cause significant damage to the arena, so 288 Union Coins isn’t unreasonable.”
Qiao Sang thought about the arena that was destroyed during the Regional Tournament and was instantly convinced.
"Is there a free battle arena here?" Qiao Sang asked.
"Of course", Migala replied. "But it's hard to get one."
As they spoke, the Rocksharp Golem pushed open a door.
Before them lay a vast outdoor training ground, with the arena divided into several sections. Almost every area was occupied by people in battle, and others were standing or sitting on the sidelines, watching. It resembled the preliminary stages of a small Battlematch on Blue Star, where all the contestants would engage in one-on-one battles, with referees recording the results.
"Rocksharp."
The Rocksharp Golem stopped at an unoccupied arena, took out a whistle, and nodded in the direction of Qiao Sang and Curse Herald.
Curse Herald floated to one side of the arena.
Qiao Sang moved to the opposite side.
Migala and Jacqueline sat down on the benches beside the arena.
Jacqueline finally couldn't help but ask, "I remember that unless explicitly stated, there are no restrictions on artifacts and spirit patterns in a battle. Why did you have that Night Ring King remove its artifacts?"
"When have you ever seen our Imperial Class students let their familiars battle with artifacts?" Migala countered.
Jacqueline fell silent for a moment, then asked, "Can Qiao win?"
She wasn't questioning the level of the Imperial Class students, but Qiao Sang looked too inexperienced.
"Don't worry", Migala said with a smile. "She can win."
Qiao Sang nodded at Treasure Seeker.
Treasure Seeker's expression turned serious as it floated in front of its Beastmaster.
"Curse Herald."
Curse Herald glanced at Treasure Seeker, then pressed the Miniaturization Band it was wearing. Its body slowly grew, reaching a height of about eight meters before stopping.
Many people turned their attention, even in the Beastmaster Battle Club, where battles happened daily, a familiar of this size was still a rare sight.
Curse Herald looked down, its eyes fixed on Treasure Seeker, as if waiting for something.
The Rocksharp Golem also looked over, not announcing the start of the match immediately.
"Xunxun..."
Treasure Seeker couldn't stand the angle and floated up to the same height as Curse Herald's head.
Curse Herald was taken aback for a moment, then looked at Treasure Seeker's claws. Seeing that it didn't have a Miniaturization Band, it burst into laughter.
"Curse Herald, Curse Herald, Curse Herald!"
"Xunxun..."
Treasure Seeker understood what was so funny and puffed out its cheeks in anger.
"Tingting..."
Thunder Dragon was woken by Curse Herald's laughter and opened its eyes.
"Let's begin", Qiao Sang said to the Rocksharp Golem.
The Rocksharp Golem, seeing the significant size difference between the two familiars, understood the situation and held back a laugh. It picked up the whistle and blew it.
Treasure Seeker vanished from the arena in an instant.
Curse Herald stopped laughing and became alert, scanning the area.
Although its opponent was small, the aura it emitted was not weak.
Suddenly, Curse Herald sensed something and looked down.
There, Treasure Seeker appeared on the ground, taunting it with a hooked short toe.
Curse Herald felt taunted, its expression darkening. It extended its hand, condensing a black Shadow Orb about two meters in diameter, and threw it down.
Treasure Seeker's claws moved.
Curse Herald's right hand, which was casting the Shadow Orb, was suddenly controlled by an unseen force, redirecting the orb to hit its own head. (End of Chapter)
