Chapter 106: Mr. 1's Overpowering Strike!
Chapter 106: Mr. 1's Overpowering Strike!
Among the ruins in the front streets of the palace, a hand clutching a sword emerged and, like a sprout growing from the soil, a figure with green algae hair crawled out.
"Three Sword Style: Tornado!"
The ruins parted, revealing his upper body as he pulled his legs free and surveyed his surroundings. He clicked his tongue. "That woman..."
Just as he was about to sheathe his sword, he paused again, looking toward the direction of the city gate. Not far from him, a man with an open chest and wearing martial artist attire was approaching.
"Is it those weirdly-shaped guys? Weren't you captured by the Navy?" Zoro asked.
"That level of Navy can't catch me," Mr. 1 replied calmly. "Where's Crocodile?"
"How should I know about that?"
Zoro tightened his grip on his sword handle and flashed a vicious grin. "But if you're looking for Crocodile, then we're enemies!"
"Swordsman." Mr. 1 glanced at him and shook his head. "Give up. I am Mr. 1, the Quick Cutter, who ate the Chop-Chop Fruit. My entire body is a blade. None of the swordsmen I've encountered so far have been able to injure me."
Zoro's posture lowered slightly as he revealed his battle intent. "Then let me be the first!"
Amidst the battle with that woman, in that life-and-death struggle, he had temporarily attained enlightenment, and now he had encountered an opponent worth testing his newfound insight against!
…
Beyond the city gate, Sark flew over using Moonwalk and held the Historical Main Text. The banana crocodile at the gate had not been taken away but was waiting obediently, and Lily and her companions had found it.
Ajin placed his subordinates who had fainted from the impact into the small rooms on the backs of several crocodiles and waited there for Sark.
"Marika, catch!"
Up in the sky, Sark flew down to a low altitude and threw the Historical Main Text.
Marika looked up and saw a large, square stone block being tossed her way. She raised both hands to catch it, and a dull thud sounded out as she caught the stone, her shoes sinking into the sandy ground.
"Whoa, it's heavy, and the material is nice, too."
She chuckled. "Captain, is this your spoils of war? It looks pretty good."
"It's not expensive, but it's very useful," Sark replied as he landed on the ground and scanned his surroundings. "If everyone is here, then let's go."
"Woo, woo!"
At that moment, Miot walked over with an aggrieved expression and crouched his massive body in front of Sark.
He was still bound by the iron hoop, with the spine of the sword pressing against my face, immobilizing me," Miot whined.
"What happened?" Sark furrowed his brows and reached out to grasp the iron hoop, his eyes narrowing. "It's very hard."
Crunch!
With a squeeze of his fingers, the iron hoop that I pinched felt like it had turned into mud, deforming under his grip. He pulled outward, and the hoop separated from Miot's body, now full of cracks and broken.
"We encountered 'Black Jail' Tina, and this is her ability. It's too hard, and I can't break free," Marika explained with a laugh.
Sark nodded and turned to Lily. "You can't either?"
"I was just about to cut it when you arrived," Lily replied.
"This thing is quite interesting. It has strange writing on it,"
Renitia circled around Marika, eyeing the Historical Main Text that she held curiously. "Is it heavy? Can the crocodiles pull it?"
"One might not be enough, but two can definitely do it. Just tie it with a rope," Marika said.
The weight of the Historical Main Text was considerable. It was unclear what density this object was made of, but its hardness was astonishing, and so was its weight.
Miot used thick ropes to bind the Historical Main Text and then secured them to the backs of two crocodiles. Then, a group of crocodiles carried the team and turned into a wisp of smoke, swiftly departing from the city of Albana.
"We didn't get anything except for a broken stone!"
Sark sat in the small room, his voice filled with hatred. "Even if Crocodile lost, as long as the bomb successfully detonated, it can't be considered a loss, right? Things that have lost their spirit are indeed unreliable!"
"Huh? So, are we going back to raid Rain Ground? But, Sark, didn't we establish a cooperative relationship with Disabled Crocodile?" Renitia asked, intrigued.
"He's already lost, so nothing matters anymore. Rain Ground no longer belongs to him, so it's not a cooperation if we take it now. Of course, I'm going to raid it!"
Sark gritted his teeth. "No one can mess with my plan!"
Raiding Rain Ground and Albana was the established plan.
Although the order had changed, as long as they seized them, it didn't matter.
They had already taken Albana!
Despite the many unexpected events, they had ultimately succeeded!
Some treasures couldn't buy this level of hardness. Obtaining this stone for cultivation was a form of investment!
Yes, that's right!
After they finished raiding Rain Ground, his plan would still be smoothly accomplished!
What nonsense about being unlucky.
Funny!
The Overpowering Strike of Mr. 1!
Boom!
A bolt of lightning struck down from the sky, and the dark clouds that had drifted over Albana unbeknownst to anyone unleashed their fury, flashing with lightning before whipping up a storm.
"Yay, the storm is here."
Parting the curtains, Renitia exclaimed excitedly: "We probably won't have to fight anymore."
"That's right, fighting is exhausting." Marika smiled gently. "It's better to think of new recipes when we have the time."
Lily nodded in agreement.
While it was interesting to battle formidable foes, their top priority was sailing the seas.
After all, she was a navigator by profession.
"Hmm? No more fighting because of the storm? Where's that tradition from?" Squinting, Sark questioned curiously.
At his words, the three women turned to him in unison, their gazes conveying unspoken meanings.
Sark tugged at his hair, unsure if he was the intended target.
"Sark."
"Yes?"
"Are you illiterate?" Lily wondered aloud.
"I can't read!"
Sark's temples bulged with a vein, and he snapped, "It's not that I lack common sense. Do you want a beating, Renitia?"
Renitia stuck out her tongue playfully and hid behind Marika.
"Speaking of which,"
Sark shot her a sideways glance before his thoughts turned to something else. He eyed Lily, curious. "How did you suddenly gain control over Observation Haki?"
Aside from life-or-death battles, enhancing one's will and gaining mastery over Observation Haki was a gradual process.
Based on Sark's discerning eye, Lily still had some ways to go before she could master it, but she was getting there. It was unusual for her to have attained this level of mastery without a near-death experience.
" Roronoa Zoro. "
"The Straw Hat Pirates' triple-wielding swordsman. He's a formidable and resilient foe. I intercepted him on his way to the palace, and in the midst of our battle, I gained insight into Observation Haki. Although we didn't settle things in the end, " she asserted, her voice firm, "I will be the victor if we cross blades again!"
As a swordsman, it was essential to possess that unwavering confidence.
"Good, keep that spirit up, Lily."
Sark smiled and turned his attention to Marika.
" 'Black Jail' Tina is a formidable opponent, and her Devil Fruit ability is truly a wonder of the sea." Marika smiled in response. "I tried to bind her with my hair, then crush her with a building I pulled out, but she pierced through the former and evaded the latter by turning into a massive fence. She then threw me with a distant building using her 'Black Cage' ability."
And Marika caught the Black Gun, throwing it back and looking for an opportunity to get into close-quarters combat.
With the strength brought by the Life Return technique and the Binding Art, she was unafraid of that ability, but with her opponent deliberately evading her, she was unable to get close. This back-and-forth exchange made the battle seem somewhat gentle.
It wasn't until the bomb exploded, burying everyone in the ruins, that the fight temporarily came to an end.
Sark nodded and turned to look at Renitia.
Renitia poked her head out from behind Marika and raised her hand. "I lost."
"Who did you meet?" Sark asked in surprise.
"It wasn't me, I didn't get a chance to make a move."
Renitia shook her head. "It was that idiot, Paul. He was played with by two people and a tanuki, and then he got struck by lightning."
Paul's iron shield was shattered by Chopper's attacks. After using his iron chunks skillfully, with Chopper constantly enhancing his arm strength, it was actually the constant enhancement of his arm strength that started to weaken him.
But in the end, he still lost.
As Nami and Usopp attacked Paul relentlessly, one of them created rain clouds while the other constantly created obstacles. In the end, Usopp blocked Paul's vision with smoke, allowing the rain clouds to be completed, and then lightning struck him down.
No matter how hard the iron chunks were, they were still made of flesh and blood, and of course, they couldn't withstand the power of nature, so he was struck down and charred.
Renitia was just about to make a move when the bomb exploded, and she was buried underneath the rubble.
"Right, and there's also Akin."
She thought for a moment and continued, "I think he met that guy called Sanji. He said it was a draw, and they still couldn't determine a winner, but Akin doesn't look lightly wounded, Sark. Did you win?"
"Of course!"
The corners of Sark's mouth turned up. "Those two weaklings, how could they compare to me!"
If he, someone with such planning abilities, had fought those two fragile opponents for so long without determining a winner, he would still be lingering in the East Blue and would never have ventured into the Grand Line.
The strength of his underlings might be considered passable in the first half of the Grand Line, but they were only just passable. If he were at that same level, he would face destruction sooner or later.
It was only because of his unmatched strength that he could trample over bad luck and punch through obstacles!
As night fell, the rubber crocodiles they rode as transport arrived at the Dead End Log on the Sandora River, and Sark had his men carry the Historical Main Text up to the second floor. He then changed into a new set of clothes and casually had the kitchen crew make a meal for him. After he finished eating, he picked out some of his underlings and set off.
The previous batch of underlings had woken up, but due to the injuries they sustained from the collapse of the building, they remained on the ship to rest. However, Sark wouldn't shortchange them on their share of the spoils.
Those who didn't participate in the raid would only get half a share, while those who labored but failed to accomplish anything would get a full share.
When it came to compensation, Sark would never mistreat anyone.
He loved treasure, but he loved the dominion that treasure brought even more. After all, he earned money to become a feudal lord.
This time, Lily and Marika didn't participate in the raid, and although Akin was injured and Paul was struck by lightning, Renitia was eager to give it a try, so she followed Sark.
Riding on the crocodiles with fifty of his underlings, they arrived at the location of Rain Ground when the sky brightened once more.
Although the stormy weather made everything seem gloomy, there was still a clear distinction between night and day.
Sark didn't hold back at all under the pouring rain, pointing his finger at the city of Rain Ground. "Just rob everything from the casinos, but leave the shops alone. Before noon, I want to see that you've completed the robbery!"
"Charge!"
Renitia stood excitedly on the back of the crocodile, taking the lead as she twisted her mechanical hammer into its long hammer form. She opened up a large hole in the hammer face, revealing a cannon muzzle, and a cannonball shot out, accurately hitting the golden crocodile emblem on the pyramid-like structure of 'Rain Banquet'.
Boom!!
With a deafening blast, the golden crocodile emblem's head was blown to pieces, and at the same time, fifty pirates charged into the city of Rain Ground with their blades drawn.
Their first target was, of course, the grand 'Rain Banquet'.
Even at daybreak, there were still many gamblers inside!
Gamblers were the type of people who gambled day and night, with only the difference between rich and poor.
Anyway, it was all the same whether you gave it to others or to them, it was all stimulation, whether it was from gambling or robbery.
There was no need for Sark to even consider which of these people were the unfortunate ones.
They all gambled in the casino, and sooner or later, they would all become the unfortunate ones.
Let the robbery begin!
