Top floor of the Security Bureau.
Two security officers walked side by side down the empty hallway.
"Have you heard? They say there's been an illegal immigrant from the satellite zone", Officer A said casually.
Officer B was surprised, "Really? From the satellite zone? How did they get here?"
Officer A replied, "They say through the waste disposal channel. What a bold move. Just a lowly resident of the satellite zone, but he sure has some nerve."
"Indeed", Officer B agreed. "When was the last time we heard about someone trying to come from the satellite zone? Wasn't it the Daedalus Bridge incident?"
"Ah, you mean the guy who supposedly wanted to jump over the bridge? It's just a rumor spread by the lower-class residents. Who would be foolish enough to believe a bridge could help them escape the satellite zone?"
Officer A sneered.
"Sounds like a lie the satellite zone trash made up to scare kids."
As they talked, they didn't notice a figure silently approaching from behind.
The figure crept up behind them, reached out with both hands, and grabbed their heads, delivering a "head-crush" move. The two heads collided with a sharp thud. Their vision went black, and they slumped to the ground without a chance to react.
Youxuan clapped his hands and looked down at the unconscious officers.
"You should thank me", Youxuan muttered to himself.
These two were chatting freely about such matters in the Security Bureau headquarters. If their superior, Godwin, heard them, being given the cold shoulder would be the best they could hope for. With a bit of bad luck, they might disappear without a trace by tomorrow.
What they didn't realize was that the fool they were discussing, the one who supposedly tried to jump over the Daedalus Bridge, was actually their superior, Godwin.
This was a secret few knew. The highest-ranking official of the Security Bureau, Godwin, was actually born in the satellite zone. He was the man who had attempted to build a bridge to escape the satellite zone, a symbol of resistance and freedom for the satellite zone residents for many years.
But no one knew that the former symbol of rebellion had become the head of the oppressive institution. No one knew that the noble chief of the Security Bureau, standing at the pinnacle of power, was actually the most despised resident of the satellite zone.
Youxuan continued down the corridor and asked, "Are you three sure you sensed an unusual presence?"
A cloud of black mist separated from him, forming a smaller version of the "Elder God Annihilator" shadow.
"Indeed", the Annihilator said gravely. "Though it's faint, it's definitely that presence. The interdimensional being who claimed to help us break free from our seal."
"That similar presence is definitely in this building", the Annihilator continued.
Youxuan pondered this.
The one who had convinced the Annihilator to break free from the seal was suspected by the Annihilator to be somehow connected to Zok, who had already been eliminated. Yet, that similar presence was now here, in a dimension and era where Zok shouldn't exist.
If this were true, it would certainly sound like a historical anomaly.
"Still, it's quite surprising that you three are willing to help me. I thought our relationship hadn't improved yet."
Youxuan glanced at the Annihilator's shadow.
The Annihilator huffed in pride.
"Don't misunderstand. We're not doing this for you", the Annihilator said coldly. "We still have unfinished business."
His tone darkened.
"But if it is that person, and if their business with us isn't finished either, we need to find out what their true intentions are."
The Annihilator gave Youxuan a sidelong glance.
"Don't flatter yourself. We're just acting in our own interests. That's all."
Youxuan smiled. "Alright, I won't misunderstand."
Youxuan continued on his way. It was late now, and the office workers who should have gone home had already left. As a result, the Security Bureau was nearly deserted, allowing Youxuan to move through without any hindrance.
As he approached the chief's office, he saw Yego, who looked like a clown, walking into the room.
Youxuan still had a good grasp of the 5DS character profiles. In the early stages, Yego seemed like a significant figure, always following the big boss, Godwin, and cackling with a knowing air, as if he knew everything and was deeply secretive.
However, after Godwin's downfall, it became clear that Yego knew nothing. He was just very skilled at brown-nosing, always nodding in agreement no matter what the chief said, which made him seem important. But in reality, he rarely asked about the secrets the chief didn't share. He had a large family to feed, and everything he did was just to make a living.
Youxuan kept a straight face and followed Yego quietly. Soon, he heard Godwin's voice.
"Take him out."
Youxuan recognized Godwin's voice.
"The man named Yusei Fudo."
Youxuan was indeed surprised.
Godwin was ordering Yusei Fudo to be eliminated?
But if Youxuan remembered correctly, Godwin's goal was to gather the five Dragon Marked and confront the Shadow Marked who controlled the Earthbound Deities. His ultimate aim was to combine the powers of the Dragon Marked and the Shadow Marked into his own body, gaining god-like strength.
How could he achieve this plan if he eliminated Yusei Fudo?
It seemed history was already deviating from its original course.
Youxuan listened for a moment but heard nothing else of value. A few minutes later, Yego left the office.
Less than a minute after Yego descended the stairs:
Boom!
The wall was blasted through, as if an invisible fist had erupted from the chief's room, tearing through the entire corridor and hitting the spot where Youxuan was hiding.
Godwin, with his arm still raised, looked expressionlessly at the hole in the wall, where smoke was billowing.
Youxuan waved his hand, dispersing the smoke and dust in front of him. He stepped through the smoke, his transparent barrier having protected him from the impact. He stood silently beside it, his staff in hand, eyeing Godwin warily.
Godwin stared at him for a moment, his brow slightly furrowed. "You're not from this world."
Youxuan met his gaze and said calmly, "Neither are you, Godwin."
Godwin didn't argue, just slowly raised his arm. His Duel Disk activated.
"No matter who you are, now that you know, you won't be leaving here alive today."
Youxuan smiled and raised his Duel Disk as well.
"You know, if I got a hundred dollars every time someone said something like that to me, I'd be rich by now. Oh wait, I already am. So, no worries."
"Duel!" they both declared.
[Youxuan, LP 4000]
[Godwin, LP 4000]
"I'll take the first move", Youxuan said.
"My turn, draw."
"I place one monster in defense position and set a card. My turn ends."
Godwin's turn.
He drew a card mechanically and then calmly played a card from his hand.
"Special Summon this card if there is a monster on my opponent's field and none on my own.
Appear, 'Sun Priest'!"
