Chapter 104: Hurry Up, Why Aren't You Moving?
Chapter 104: Hurry Up, Why Aren’t You Moving?
"Shatter into Pieces!"
"Flame Burst"
Colorful spells zipped through the rubble, and Douglas struggled to cast an Ironclad Spell on himself. However, it only held for a couple of hits before breaking, and the magical backlash sent him tumbling under a stone pillar.
"Ugh", Douglas spat out the mud in his mouth, along with a loose tooth and a bit of blood.
He should have drunk less and taught that dirty Goblin a lesson after leaving the Wizard Market.
Douglas was filled with regret, but his thoughts were mostly on how to escape.
He had initially thought that the five opponents would split into pairs or even scatter to search for him, giving him the chance to pick them off one by one.
Unfortunately, the five Wizards were not far apart, forming a half-circle that kept him from using Phantom Step. Even if he managed to teleport, they would likely follow him.
This left Douglas in a bind, with no immediate solution to force them to separate.
"Come out, Mad Dog Dugarte!" The lead Black Robed Wizard continued to cast long-range spells, shrinking Douglas's hiding space, but he made no move to get closer, clearly wary.
Occasionally, the lead Black Robed Wizard remembered a rumor and taunted, "Coward, if you don’t have the guts, just keep hiding!"
As soon as he finished speaking, the Black Robed Wizard felt a chill and quickly cast several protective spells. The next second, an angry voice rang out.
"Thunderclap Explosion!"
Orange flames shot into the pile of rocks ahead, sending countless large chunks of stone flying at the five Black-robed Enforcers.
"Barrier Spell!"
"Armor Shield!"
After a flurry of spells, the Black-robed Enforcers managed to keep the rocks at bay, and Douglas's exact position was revealed.
A barrage of spells pummeled the stone column, breaking it into several pieces, and Douglas's body was exposed. There was little left for him to hide behind.
"Phantom Shift"
Just as Douglas was about to risk using Phantom Shift to escape, a white blur shot out from behind the stone wall, its hooves slamming into the lead Black Robed Wizard.
Crack
The Ironclad Spell's magical barrier flickered and shattered. The lead Black Robed Wizard's face showed only a brief look of terror before he was kicked away by the Shadow Unicorn.
"Andrew!" The other Black Robed Wizards panicked, casting a barrage of spells at the Shadow Unicorn.
"Stunning Spell!"
"Flame Burst!"
However, the spells passed through the Shadow Unicorn's ethereal body and hit Andrew instead.
Poor Andrew, who had just managed to get up, was hit by multiple spells and left with only a thread of life. His clothes were burned off.
The remaining Black Robed Wizards were left in an awkward position, and even Douglas was stunned. But his long battle experience allowed him to seize this opportunity for a counterattack.
While the Black Robed Wizards were distracted, Douglas prepared a powerful spell. Purple flames emerged from the tip of his Wand, growing into a sea of fire that surged towards them.
Unfortunately, casting spells face-to-face was not very effective, especially when there were four Wizards on the other side. A series of counter-curses easily restrained the purple sea of flames.
However, counter-curses had little effect on Bloodline Magic.
The elusive Shadow Unicorn, with its ethereal form, roamed freely through the purple sea of flames, constantly harassing and ambushing the Black-robed Wizards. It didn't take long for another Black-robed Wizard to be knocked flying, losing the ability to resist.
"Foster!" The three Black-robed Enforcers were furious and helpless. Andrew's fate made them hesitant to cast spells recklessly, for fear of hitting their allies.
The only thing that gave them a slight relief was that Foster had activated a Dark Magic Artifact before being severely injured, which blew off half of the Shadow Unicorn's body, resulting in a mutual defeat.
A flicker of concern flashed in Douglas's eyes. Seeing the white mist, he guessed that this powerful spell was cast by Ivan and was likely related to the Guardian Summon they had practiced earlier.
Although he didn't understand how Ivan managed to master it at such a young age, it wasn't the time to ponder such things. Once the Shadow Unicorn dissipated, he would have to face the three Wizards alone.
Both sides focused their attention on the ethereal and white creature. The Unicorn's form suddenly dispersed, turning into white mist that drifted in the air.
The Enforcement Squad Wizards didn't have time to celebrate when a hissing sound rang out, and the Shadow Unicorn reappeared!
The injuries from being blown apart seemed to have no effect on the Unicorn. Its large, luminous eyes scanned the three Black-robed Wizards.
"Mad Dog Douglas, I didn't expect you to have such a trump card!" The tall, thin Black-robed Wizard looked at the disheveled figure with a wary expression, eyeing the reformed Shadow Unicorn.
This strange and unknown magic was incredibly powerful.
It seemed Douglas had been hiding his true strength all along.
Douglas hesitated for a moment, not wanting to expose Ivan's presence. He put on a disdainful look and said, "If you hadn't pushed me so hard, I wouldn't have resorted to my true strength."
The remaining three Black-robed Wizards were hesitant. They hadn't expected that even with five Wizards, they still couldn't take down their opponent and had easily lost two of their own.
Continuing the fight might not end in their favor.
"
Was his injury for nothing?
Douglas stood proudly in the center, calmly waiting for the Shadow Unicorn to make its move. During the previous battle, he had analyzed the characteristics of this magic.
In its general form, it could pass through obstacles and ignore spells, and in a short time, it could materialize and interfere with reality. Not to mention, it could quickly recover from severe injuries while in its materialized state, easily acting as a Tank to block dozens of spells.
If there were no other limitations, it would be nearly invincible.
Douglas was confident that even if three more Wizards joined, he could handle them.
The Black-robed Wizards, out of fear, dared not make the first move, and the situation became a stalemate.
After a few seconds, Douglas, looking at the Shadow Unicorn standing there majestically, felt something was off.
Come on, move already.
