Chapter 1027: The Strongest Deck in History
Chapter 1027: The Strongest Deck in History
Sin World!
You Xuan frowned slightly. As expected.
From the moment he saw this guy, You Xuan had a hunch about his identity. However, the mask and the different attire from the original work made him slightly uncertain at first.
But all doubts vanished the moment he saw this card.
It couldn't be anyone else. This guy was Paradox.
Paradox was a unique and exceptionally powerful boss among all the antagonists in the Yu-Gi-Oh! series, a legendary figure who would go down in history. This wasn't because his deck or dueling skills were particularly superior to other bosses, but because of his unparalleled courage to face challenges head-on, knowing the risks involved.
He was the only boss in history to challenge the three generations of Legendary Duelists: Yugi, Yusei, and Jaden.
Moreover, Paradox wasn't just a reckless fool. His backstory placed him in a distant future where the world had been destroyed because duelists had lost their passion for dueling, leading to the collapse of society.
He believed that Duel Monsters were the root cause of the world's destruction. If Duel Monsters had never existed, the future could have been changed, and the world's destruction could have been avoided. Thus, he decided to travel back in time to eliminate the father of Duel Monsters, Maximillion Pegasus, to prevent the world from evolving into a future dominated by dueling.
He thought that if Pegasus hadn't uncovered the stone tablets and if modern society had never known dueling, the future would never have been destroyed.
The most courageous aspect of Paradox was that he understood the history of Duel Monsters, knew the key moments and figures in their development. In other words, he recognized Yugi, Yusei, and Jaden, knew their life stories, and understood the incredible power they wielded.
Yet, despite this knowledge, he still charged forward without hesitation, taking on the three most powerful duelists in history, one against three.
While later duelists often pointed out the flaws in that duel, such as the fact that the three generations of Duel Kings all held back, with the Pharaoh relying solely on a basic Dark Magician and Yusei never using the Ultra Fusion despite the movie's title, and Jaden not even activating the Red Dragon Archfiend,
Paradox's courage in facing these three was enough to earn him the title of the bravest villain in history, without a doubt.
"My deck can only unleash its full power in the Sin Field", Paradox sneered. "Now that the Sin World has taken control of this arena, you will soon realize the ultimate power that transcends time and dimensions!"
A card automatically popped out from Paradox's deck. He drew it and held it between his fingers, displaying it. At that moment, a sharp, mournful dragon's cry echoed through the Sin Realm, as if the very fabric of space was being torn apart.
Behind him, the legendary dragon, its body formed from countless divine lights, appeared in all its noble glory.
Blue-Eyes White Dragon!
"I send 'Blue-Eyes White Dragon' from my deck to the graveyard, allowing me to special summon this card from my hand without any tribute—
—Sin Blue-Eyes White Dragon, summon!!!"
In the next instant, the shadow of the White Dragon materialized into a solid form. Countless white light particles converged to form the figure of the Blue-Eyes White Dragon, but its body was slightly darker than the original, with large patches of black appearing on its once-pure white wings, as if it were tainted.
Sin Blue-Eyes White Dragon, Attack Power: 3000
Paradox smirked, "What do you think? Even the legendary Blue-Eyes White Dragon, which exists only in Kaiba Seto's hands in your world, is now under the influence of my Sin Power.
My Sin Deck is a collection of ultimate forces that transcend time and dimensions. No matter how rare or powerful the creatures in your world, they must bow to me!"
You Xuan wasn't surprised. He had known that Paradox had the Blue-Eyes White Dragon and several other renowned monsters. As a time traveler who wandered through various timelines, it wasn't impossible for him to obtain a unique card from this world.
However, a thought crossed his mind, and he asked, "So, were you the one who freed those Yeshen?"
The three Yeshen had mentioned that someone from another world had loosened their seals and aided them. According to the original story, Paradox shouldn't be considered a visitor from another world but rather from their same dimension, just from the future.
Moreover, Paradox was supposed to duel the third generation Duel King in the DM timeline, when the Pharaoh was still around. He shouldn't be in this timeline now.
"Yeshen?" Paradox scoffed, "I have no idea what you're talking about.
My summoning isn't over yet!
I'll send this card from my Extra Deck to the Graveyard!"
He revealed another card and declared loudly, "Cyber End Dragon!"
The sound of metal parts grinding and electric currents crackling filled the air. Massive steel components assembled and transformed into the shadow of a three-headed dragon, roaring in the Sin Realm.
"By sending 'Cyber End Dragon' from the Extra Deck to the Graveyard, I can Special Summon this card from my hand directly."
Paradox continued, "Come forth, Sin Cyber End Dragon!"
As the card was placed on the Duel Disk, the shadow of the Cyber End Dragon materialized. Dark electrical currents exploded, and the three-headed steel dragon descended like a fortress.
Sin Cyber End Dragon, Attack: 4000
"This is my Sin Deck, a collection of the most powerful creatures from different eras!" Paradox declared, "And I can summon these historically strongest monsters with ease, making it the ultimate Deck!"
You Xuan believed that Paradox genuinely thought his Sin Deck was the strongest in the world, transcending time. Otherwise, he wouldn't have the courage to challenge the three generations of Duel Kings.
In fact, the Sin Deck in the anime was significantly stronger than its real-life counterpart. For instance, in the real game, only one Sin monster can exist on the field at a time, and having more would cause them to explode. In the anime, however, Paradox could summon multiple Sin monsters simultaneously, like the Sin Blue-Eyes and Sin Cyber End Dragon.
Additionally, in the real game, summoning a Sin monster typically required banishing the original monster from the Deck. In the anime, sending the original monster to the Graveyard was enough, as Paradox had just done by sending the Cyber End Dragon and Blue-Eyes White Dragon to the Graveyard to summon their Sin versions.
Furthermore, in the real game, Sin monsters only had Attack Power and no effects of the original monsters. In the anime, the Sin monsters retained the effects of their original counterparts. For example, the Sin Cyber End Dragon in the anime retained its ability to pierce through defenses, while the real card had this effect removed.
"Feel the power of the strongest Deck in history!"
Paradox shouted.
"Sin Cyber End Dragon, attack the face-down Defense Position monster!"
