Chapter 1025: Giant Eyes
Chapter 1025: Giant Eyes
To leave Lost Town, one either needed a familiar powerful enough to be unaffected by the Ghost Fog, a Tether Line with Mental Power attached, which could be pulled from outside the Ghost Fog by Tether Jillow, or a familiar capable of seeing through illusions.
Qiao Sang's eyes lit up with surprise when she saw the mask puppet in front of her.
This mask puppet was indeed a familiar that could see through illusions!
Migala's face showed a look of surprise as she saw the familiar appear.
Pengamei understood what the mask puppet was saying and stopped her actions.
"Teacher, its eyes can see through illusions!" Qiao Sang turned around, her face brimming with excitement, and asked, "With it, can we get everyone out without destroying the Space?"
Migala nodded slightly. "Yes."
Qiao Sang's eyes sparkled with renewed hope. Before she could speak, Treasure Seeker, standing beside her, exclaimed in surprise:
"Xunxun!"
It said it could help them leave and asked if they needed its assistance.
Qiao Sang nodded vigorously.
"We need it very much!"
After a moment, she added:
"Can you help everyone down there leave as well?"
"Jia jia."
The mask puppet glanced down, then looked back at Qiao Sang, its expression calm, and called out.
Treasure Seeker's mouth twitched slightly, but he didn't translate immediately.
"What did it say?" Qiao Sang asked eagerly.
"Steel Blade." Steel Treasure called out.
It said it could help everyone leave.
Qiao Sang was overjoyed.
"Steel Blade." Steel Treasure called out again.
It also mentioned how powerful it was and asked if they regretted not bonding with it back then.
Qiao Sang recognized the mask puppet as the first familiar Bao Wu Wu had found when she entered Lost Town. Without hesitation, she nodded.
"Of course!"
She sighed, her tone filled with regret.
"If only I had a new bonding page back then, I would have definitely bonded with you."
"Jia jia."
The mask puppet seemed satisfied and called out, indicating they should follow it. Its eyes glowed red as it floated downward.
Qiao Sang called out to the people below.
"Everyone, follow me! I'll lead you out!"
The crowd looked at each other, their hearts racing despite the recent influence of the Healing Waves. Their eyes sparkled with a newfound hope, as if they had just been told they were free from a death sentence and could return home.
Qiao Sang mounted Fangy and followed the mask puppet.
The others followed behind, their expressions calm, but their steps quickened involuntarily.
"Xunxun!"
Treasure Seeker turned to look at the humans following them, waving its claws and encouraging them to move faster.
Suddenly, a strong sense of unease washed over them, as if they were being watched by a powerful presence.
"Xunxun!"
Treasure Seeker was startled and teleported to stand next to its Beastmaster for safety.
"What's wrong?" Qiao Sang noticed Treasure Seeker's state and turned to ask.
"Xunxun! Xunxun!" Treasure Seeker used its limbs to convey its feelings.
Qiao Sang was taken aback for a moment, then tried to sense what Treasure Seeker was feeling. "I don't feel anything. Could it be from absorbing too much negative energy earlier, causing a negative effect?"
"Xunxun..."
Treasure Seeker trusted its Beastmaster's words and showed an expression of understanding.
“Phew.”
The Mask Puppet continued forward, pushing through layer upon layer of Ghost Fog until it stopped in front of a collapsed arch bridge.
The main group followed and came to a halt.
The red light in the middle of the Mask Puppet’s forehead flickered.
In the next second, the Ghost Fog before them parted like clouds, revealing a completely different world.
In the distance, stalls could be seen, marking the path they had taken when they first entered.
“Phew.”
The Mask Puppet called out, signaling that they had arrived.
“Everyone, let’s go out,” Qiao Sang said.
The peaceful expressions on everyone’s faces vanished, replaced by the joy of surviving a harrowing ordeal. Some were even overcome with emotion, crying as they sprinted toward the exit.
Soon, everyone had left the Lost Town.
Once she was sure no one was left behind, Qiao Sang turned to the Mask Puppet and said sincerely, “Thank you.”
“Phew.”
The Mask Puppet called out indifferently, implying that she had saved it once, so they were even.
Qiao Sang didn’t say anything more and followed Teacher Mikara, preparing to step out of the Ghost Fog.
Just as she lifted her foot, she felt a sudden unease, as if something was watching her. She couldn’t help but turn her head.
“Xunxun…”
The Treasure Seeker also sensed something and turned its head at the same time.
“Phew.”
The Mask Puppet thought it was reluctant to leave and called out with a smug expression, as if saying, “I knew it would be like this.”
Even if you want me to go out with you now, it’s impossible. The chance to bond only comes once, and you’ve missed it.
“Phew…”
The Mask Puppet fidgeted and called out again.
But since you didn’t have a place to bond before, I can understand. If you really want me to go out with you, it’s not entirely out of the question…
Qiao Sang didn’t understand or hear clearly what the Mask Puppet was saying.
At that moment, she was staring blankly at the Ghost Fog.
In the midst of the Ghost Fog, a pair of Dark Red Giant Eyes seemed to fill the entire space.
These eyes exuded a mysterious, distant, and authoritative aura, but they contained no discernible emotion. They simply looked on indifferently.
The moment Qiao Sang saw these eyes, her mind exploded with pain. Her head buzzed, and she closed her eyes, collapsing onto Fangy’s back.
At the same time, all the Ghost Fog surged forward like a tidal wave, rushing toward the Treasure Seeker.
“Xunxun!”
The Treasure Seeker didn’t have time to react as the Ghost Fog rushed into its body. Overwhelmed, it closed its eyes and fell beside its Beastmaster.
“Phew!”
The Mask Puppet was startled and let out a scream.
Fangy sensed the danger and carried its Beastmaster out of the Lost Town.
Mikara’s face turned grim, and she called out, “Meimei.”
“Pengpeng.”
Pengamei appeared, calling out with blue light emanating from its eyes.
The entrance to the Lost Town closed, and the Ghost Fog was once again blocked by an unknown force.
Mikara glanced at the Ghost Fog but couldn’t discern anything unusual.
In the Ghost Fog, the Dark Red Giant Eyes moved slightly.
One by one, the Ghost-type Beast Companions, as if receiving a call, floated back into the still-open Mystic Rift.
The Mask Puppet did the same.
When the Ghost-type Beast Companions had mostly disappeared, the Mystic Rifts slowly closed, leaving no trace as if they had never existed.
The Dark Red Giant Eyes quietly vanished.
The Lost Town returned to its peaceful state.
