Chapter 1022: Master of Yeshen
Chapter 1022: Master of Yeshen
"You’re not going to seal us?"
Yeshen was surprised.
"Seal you? And then what?" Youxuan shrugged. "A few years, maybe a decade or a century later, you’ll just come back?
"And then wait for the next duelist to step up and repeat this cycle all over again?"
Yeshen remained silent.
What else could they do?
Hasn’t it always been like this?
The three of them couldn’t remember from which era or how they came into being. But it seemed that ever since they had memory, it was always this way.
They would awaken, causing panic. Then a hero or a king of the era would step up.
Sometimes they would win, but even if they did, it was only temporary. After defeating one hero, another would rise, and then another, until they were sealed away once more.
They were Yeshen, and every time they resurrected, they brought fear and disaster, only to be sealed again. It was a cycle that seemed endless and inescapable.
Yet this person didn’t seem to plan on sealing them.
Who gave him the courage?
Wasn’t he afraid of this evil force? Didn’t he fear being consumed by darkness?
After a brief silence, the Eraser among the Yeshen couldn’t hold back any longer and asked the question.
"If you don’t seal us, aren’t you afraid of being consumed by darkness?"
The Yeshen were notorious. Even if they did nothing, just their presence was a gathering of darkness, spreading fear and despair.
Not to mention, they were rumored to be masters at manipulating hearts, amplifying the dark aspects in a duelist’s soul. Even the tiniest evil thought would be detected by the Yeshen, magnified infinitely, and grow into overwhelming darkness.
Because they were Yeshen, and this was what they excelled at.
"Doesn’t matter to me", Youxuan shrugged. "If you want to try to control me, go ahead. But as long as you haven’t succeeded—"
Youxuan’s lips curled into a smile.
"Until then, you’ll work for me. Deal?"
The three Yeshen: "..."
Although Youxuan seemed to be asking for their opinion, the Yeshen knew they had no choice in this situation.
Defeated, in their own territory, their own domain shattered. Even as Yeshen, who were essentially Duel monsters, they had no room to refuse after such a humiliating defeat in a Darkness Duel.
With his journey concluded, Youxuan put away the three Yeshen cards and stepped out of the darkness. As he emerged, the dense, dark sphere dissipated.
Kaiba, still with his arms crossed, looked at Youxuan for a moment and said, "You’ve taken down the Yeshen?"
Youxuan replied, "For now, I guess."
Kaiba nodded and chuckled, "Interesting. Master this new power quickly. A battle between us is inevitable, Youxuan."
President turned around, his coat flaring behind him.
"I’m waiting. Don’t disappoint me."
Youxuan: "..."
Great, it seemed the Yeshen had caught President’s attention.
And the most crucial part was that President wasn’t interested in the Yeshen themselves. Youxuan wasn’t entirely confident he could control the Yeshen either. If he found them too difficult to handle, he could always ask the Tombkeepers and Kaiba for help to seal them away again. President had always been fair to him, and if President wanted to deal with the Yeshen, that would be fine too.
The problem was that President seemed more interested in the person who wielded Yeshen rather than Yeshen itself.
This was a bit troublesome.
However, that was a concern for the future. For now, they had achieved a great victory, and today's issue was finally resolved.
The three logged out and returned to the real world.
President, being busy with numerous affairs, seemed to have a lot to handle. He didn't even bid them farewell before vanishing without a trace.
Jou, on the other hand, had many questions he wanted to ask.
For instance, about the three Yeshen cards, the sudden appearance of the Golden Cabinet, and the mysterious spirits that seemed to have a connection with his idol, Mr. Yu Gi.
Youxuan gave him a brief reply and promised to provide a detailed explanation later when they returned to the academy.
After logging out of the system, Youxuan naturally returned to the Tombkeepers' location. Malik and Isis had been eagerly waiting for him and immediately approached to inquire about the situation.
Youxuan took out the three Yeshen cards and placed them on the table for them to see.
"The legendary three Yeshen."
Malik's expression changed slightly upon seeing the cards, and he looked up with admiration.
"Truly befitting the current Duel King. Mr. Youxuan, you actually managed to obtain these three cards."
Isis asked with concern, "How are you feeling now?"
"Feeling?"
"Your mental state. Do you feel extremely tired, disoriented, or experience any hallucinations?" Isis continued, "Or do you hear voices in your head?"
Youxuan understood her concern. She was worried about the signs of Yeshen's mental influence. He smiled and replied, "Not at all, so far."
Isis nodded. "It's still best to be cautious.
Yeshen is cunning. Yamato Yuki was one of the top Duelists of his time, trained by Pegasus to be one of his best successors.
But even he couldn't resist Yeshen's corruption and had to give up that power."
Malik added, "But there's no need to worry too much. From our observations, your strength as a Duelist and a Darkness Yu-Gi player far surpasses that of Yamato Yuki back then.
And based on our assessment, you might have better compatibility with Yeshen compared to Yuki."
Youxuan's expression was a bit odd.
This should have been a compliment and a vote of confidence, but it also sounded a bit like they were saying he and Yeshen were a perfect match.
Isis continued, "More importantly, you have an advantage that Yamato Yuki never had."
Youxuan asked, "An advantage?"
Isis nodded. "Besides compatibility, powerful Darkness abilities, and the enhancement of Spirit Power, you also possess the ability to control a Divine Artifact to some extent.
And more importantly, you defeated Yeshen directly through a Darkness Duel."
Youxuan understood. While Yuki was technically the master of Yeshen, he had obtained the cards without ever facing Yeshen in a duel or seeing Yeshen in person.
By winning through a duel, Youxuan naturally had more control.
Still, he needed to remain vigilant. After all, this was Yeshen, and caution was essential.
Youxuan put away the three cards and, as he looked up, his eyes caught something by the door, causing him to pause.
"Mr. Yu Gi?"
