Chapter 102: The Serial Killer Meets God - Delivery at the Door
Chapter 102: The Serial Killer Meets God - Delivery at the Door
It was already dark outside. The hunter's cabin had no electricity, so they were using a kerosene lamp. Xisil was cooking food.
It seemed he was frying sausages. The aroma filled the cabin, and from this scent, Qin Muye could tell that Xisil had used a lot of spices, otherwise, it wouldn't be this fragrant.
"Come, Father Andrew, try the sausages I made. They are made from rabbit, wild boar, deer, and other high-quality meats." Xisil enthusiastically placed a full plate of sausages in front of Qin Muye.
The sausages smelled good, but Qin Muye didn't want to eat them. He had brought his own food, which was even more delicious.
"Sorry, Xisil, although I would love to try the sausages you made for me, it's past the time, and the rules of my order prevent me from eating any further." Qin Muye's tone was very sincere.
But upon hearing that Qin Muye wouldn't eat, Xisil's enthusiastic expression instantly froze and quickly turned dark.
"Father Andrew, you really won't eat?" Xisil, wearing an apron, spoke with a dark tone.
Qin Muye noticed that the apron didn't seem to be the usual dark brown but was blue, stained with some liquid that had turned it that color.
" Nope." Qin Muye's tone became calm, sensing that Xisil was about to show his true colors.
"Since you won't eat, I'll just have to turn you into sausages."
Xisil suddenly lunged, grabbing a boning knife from beside him and slashing at Qin Muye with incredible speed, so fast that Qin Muye didn't have time to react.
Qin Muye wasn't a combat specialist; his attributes were all invested in knowledge. Due to his long-term focus on study and research, his magical abilities weren't as strong.
So, at the moment, he was essentially a person with vast magical power but limited physical capabilities, with perhaps a bit better mental fortitude.
He couldn't really compete with a serial killer in terms of physical strength and reaction time.
Though he didn't react in time, he had multiple shields.
The boning knife was stopped by his magical shield, and Xisil's expression showed disbelief. He hadn't expected this outcome.
"I'm a bit wealthy, so my equipment is better." Qin Muye looked at the boning knife that couldn't penetrate his shield, feeling a bit embarrassed.
As a lord, superpowers might not be necessary, but money definitely is.
His inventory still contained a large number of consumables, but unfortunately, he couldn't access his supply warehouse while in the dungeon, or he would have even more.
At this point, Xisil realized he had met his match and turned to run.
He was a twisted serial killer, not a stupid one.
He knew when to run, especially since Qin Muye had demonstrated supernatural abilities. Xisil lured passersby into his cabin to make them into sausages and sell them, but that didn't mean he himself had supernatural powers.
"Have you heard the saying that within seven steps, a gun is both fast and accurate?" Qin Muye's hand glowed with crimson magic, slowly forming a magical arrow.
The serial killer, who was about to open the door and flee, froze. He could sense the danger behind him; if he dared to open the door, the arrow would definitely hit him.
"Father Andrew, what do you need?" Xisil turned around, his tone now servile.
"Something, come, sit down. I'm a very kind person and generally don't do anything outside the law." With the situation reversed, Qin Muye's tone was very gentle.
Well, the law doesn't prohibit using magic.
Xisil trembled as he sat down, his eyes filled with fear as he watched the crimson magic swirling in Qin Muye's hand.
"Tell me, whose favored one are you?"
Qin Muye's eyes were covered with a layer of crimson crystals, a magical eye, but a crimson version. The original Qin Muye couldn't use the standard magical eye due to the crimson magic within him, so he had to create a new magical ability, the crimson eye.
Through the crimson eye, he saw a malevolent aura surrounding Xisil, which strengthened his physical abilities as he killed and ate human sausages.
Had it been anyone else, they would have been split in half by Xisil's boning knife, vertically.
But from the way he immediately ran when Qin Muye was about to release magic, it seemed that he could only passively control it, not actively.
"Chosen One? Father Andrew, what are you talking about?" Xisil was very confused by Qin Muye's words. He was not a Chosen One.
"Alright, if you don't want to say, it's fine. God will forgive your sins."
Qin Muye's words made Xisil feel a bit surprised.
"How merciful God is, even a lost sheep like me can be saved. I am willing to embrace God and atone for my sins. May God bless you, Father Andrew." Xisil decisively declared; he was a believer.
Qin Muye, with a calm expression, continued, "It's great that you have this heart. Prepare yourself, I will send you to meet God."
Xisil's expression suddenly changed. Sending him to meet God? He was just trying to take his life, talking so grandly for what?
Before Xisil could make a move, Qin Muye fired a magical arrow into his head, and then crimson magic spread, turning Xisil into a crimson crystalline statue.
"Forgiveness is God's business. My job is to send you to meet God. Oh, I forgot, I don't believe in God. I hope you can meet the God you believe in." Qin Muye shrugged, feeling a bit embarrassed as he spoke to the crimson crystalline statue.
Then he carefully observed it; it was the first time he had used this crimson magical arrow.
"It seems that each type of magical arrow has its own characteristics. My crimson type directly turns people into crystalline statues. It looks like the crimson magic spreads and radiates, causing a crimson disease. The progression of the disease is quite powerful."
Qin Muye had no pity for Xisil, a deranged serial killer who had even tried to feed him human sausages, and after eating, he might have wanted to turn him into sausages as well.
"So this guy is probably not a hunter. He's most likely a deranged serial killer wandering in this wilderness. How did he know about me?"
Qin Muye searched the cabin and soon found a hidden basement. He didn't know how it was dug out.
As soon as he entered, a nauseating stench of decay hit him, and he quickly used his magic to block the smell.
The basement was much larger than the cabin, looking like a slaughterhouse and meat processing plant, but the processed subjects were not animals, but humans.
A few corpses hung nearby, three of which had been reduced to skeletons, with traces of flesh still clinging to them.
The remaining bodies were also dead, and the ones that hadn't been stripped were all young people, dressed in fashionable clothing, seemingly tourists.
"What bad luck. Who would come to such a remote place for tourism? Truly adventurous." If it were Qin Muye, he would never come to such a desolate area. Look, one little mistake, and they lose their lives here.
After a thorough search, he found a phone, but it was an old model and had no battery.
Even if it had a battery, it wouldn't work; there was no signal in this remote area.
Apart from that, there was nothing else of value.
"What should I do next?" Qin Muye was a bit overwhelmed. He wasn't afraid of corpses and bones, but he had to go to Ackerman Town.
"If it doesn't work out, I'll have to return the way I came."
"At least I didn't come away empty-handed. I dealt with a deranged serial killer, and oh, I also got a boning knife."
Boning Knife
Rank: Intermediate
Attributes:
107% increased damage to humanoid targets
Each complete stripping of a humanoid target increases additional damage to humanoid targets by 1%, up to a maximum of 150%
"If it weren't for the restriction on humanoids, it might be a high-rank item. The upper limit is quite normal; without a limit, it would be a divine artifact." Qin Muye casually threw the boning knife into his inventory. This item seemed to be a derivative of Xisil, surrounded by a malevolent aura.
It was this aura that gave the ordinary boning knife its special abilities.
"This place is deeper than I thought. Maybe I can find more clues in Ackerman Town."
