Upon seeing Yue'er's excited charge, Lu Hai Kong's scalp tingled.
Oh, ancestors, she's a force to be reckoned with, a strength of 70, even stronger than the historical general Gao Shun. It's not a fight you can win, so why get involved and risk your life?
After spending some time with Yue'er, Lu Hai Kong had a good sense of her abilities. This girl's strength was likely around 65, and challenging someone stronger was a sure path to death.
Lu Hai Kong didn't have time to think; he quickly mounted his horse and pursued her. He couldn't let this girl get killed. But by the time he reacted and caught up, Yue'er and Li Hu were already engaged in battle.
"Don't you dare stop me!"
Li Hu, determined to slay the traitorous Li Xiong, unleashed his Tiger King Spear Technique. His first strike, like a ferocious hungry tiger, forced Yue'er, with her strength around 65, to retreat.
Surprised that his initial attack didn't finish Yue'er, Li Hu still didn't take her seriously. Without a glance, he continued his assault towards Li Xiong.
Before Li Hu could advance further, Yue'er counterattacked. Her long spear aimed straight for Li Hu's back, enraging him. He spun around and swept his spear in retaliation.
"You fool, if you insist on blocking my path, I'll kill you first before dealing with that traitor, Li Xiong!"
With that, Li Hu charged at Yue'er, intending to slay her with his spear. The two engaged in a fierce battle.
While they fought, Lu Hai Kong had reached their backs. He could have easily joined the fray and fought alongside Yue'er against Li Hu, but he maintained a distance, ready to intervene at any moment. From afar, he watched their battle, knowing Yue'er didn't want him to interfere.
Li Hu was incredibly powerful, the strongest opponent Lu Hai Kong had encountered. His Tiger King Spear Technique was awe-inspiring, carrying an aura of dominance. In battle, Li Hu seemed to transform into a majestic tiger, exuding supreme authority.
However, Yue'er's response to his attacks was beyond anything Lu Hai Kong had witnessed before.
Yue'er was an extraordinary individual, and this peculiarity largely stemmed from her unwavering pursuit of strength, disregarding her life. Her delicate and sweet appearance contrasted sharply with her relentless drive for power, creating an endearing charm. Additionally, she had a unique trait: her strength varied depending on her opponent.
When facing weaker foes, she would deliberately suppress her abilities, fighting as if her life depended on it. But against stronger foes, their power inspired her to perform at astonishing levels.
This very reason allowed her to battle against opponents with a strength of 70, a level clearly above her own, and seemingly hold her ground.
In reality, Yue'er's battle was incredibly challenging and dangerous. Lu Hai Kong, standing on the sidelines, struggled to resist the urge to intervene several times. Within minutes, Yue'er had sustained four or five wounds, minor but still causing her body to be drenched in blood, a sight that tugged at one's heartstrings.
"Your fighting skills are impressive, having endured thirty exchanges with me. But this is as far as you go. With this next strike, I'll take your head!"
Li Hu's eyes gleamed with ferocity as he uttered these words, then spurred his horse towards Yue'er.
His speed wasn't significantly faster than before; it might have even been slightly slower, but more steady. Yet, Li Hu's aura was entirely different. If he was a ferocious, savage tiger before, now he exuded the aura of a majestic tiger king. Both Lu HaiKong and Yue'er could sense this change. They knew that this strike, once unleashed, would far surpass the previous heaven-shattering blow.
"I guess it's time for me to step in," Lu HaiKong thought, frowning. Just as he was about to intervene with his ornate battle axe, Yue'er's gaze caught his. Her beautiful eyes, visible through her mask, held a hint of stubborn determination, clearly conveying to Lu HaiKong, "This is my fight. Stay out of it!"
Stubborn women can be so annoying, Lu HaiKong hesitated for a moment, but ultimately decided not to interfere.
Li Hu didn't hesitate. He launched his attack, just as Lu HaiKong had predicted, with a heaven-shattering strike.
"Die!"
He thrust his spear, moving like a ferocious tiger towards Yue'er. A faint yet powerful sound reverberated across the battlefield, causing even Lu HaiKong, as an observer, felt a surge of pressure. One could only imagine the intensity Yue'er was facing.
"A Strength of 70 and this is the power she possesses?"
Yue'er's eyes shone brightly behind her mask, but there wasn't a trace of fear. She gripped her spear tightly, ready for the onslaught.
She was well aware that she couldn't possibly withstand her opponent's heaven-shattering attack. In her view, martial arts were merely a matter of seeking life amidst death, and defense was never an option!
"It's time!"
In a flash, Yue'er's eyes lit up as she anticipated her opponent's rhythm, waiting for the precise moment. Then, with a radiant gleam in her eyes, she channeled her surging power into her spear, transforming it into a beam of light aimed directly at Li Hu's throat.
This was Yue'er's signature move, a standard exchange of injury for life. Most of her previous battles had followed this pattern, and she wasn't about to change now.
However, while the style of combat remained consistent, the outcome of this battle might be an exception. Her opponent's strength far surpassed hers, and they didn't need to follow Yue'er's rhythm to defeat her.
Li Hu's eyes flickered with appreciation. After all, a warrior who faced death with such courage deserved respect. But that was the extent of it.
"What a pity. Your strength falls short," Li Hu sighed, swinging his spear. He hadn't anticipated that Yue'er, despite gathering such power, would change her move. Yue'er, caught off guard, was flung away, along with her spear.
"You're impressive, but you've made an enemy of me. Die!" Li Hu was about to close in for the final strike when a chilling voice interrupted.
"Advance one more step, and I'll cut you down with my axe!"
Instantly, Li Hu was enveloped in a heart-pounding sense of dread...
