Chapter 1011: Epilogue — A Warm Daily Life
Chapter 1011: Epilogue — A Warm Daily Life
"Then you two had better work hard, Emma and Liam. Try to surpass your father soon", Asia said gently, looking at her grandchildren with a teasing smile.
Emma, hiding in Ivan's arms, nodded. Liam, more confidently, tapped his fork against his plate and declared, "Just wait and see, it won’t be long before the title of the strongest Wizards is mine!"
Ivan glanced at little Liam, shaking his head with a chuckle. It would take a few hundred more years of practice before he could even think about surpassing him.
Just as Ivan was about to tease him, a noisy commotion came from behind them.
Turning around, Ivan saw Hermione scolding a thirteen-year-old young witch, their eldest daughter, Lilane.
Due to inheriting the Phoenix Bloodline, the young girl's eyes shone with a dazzling golden-red hue. Her appearance was a mix of both her parents, with the same chestnut-brown hair, and a Phoenix Chick perched on her head, summoned during her Bloodline Awakening at eleven.
"Mom, can you stop nagging? I only blew up a Training Room, and no one got hurt. Dad can just wave his wand and use a Reparo spell, right?" Lilane covered her ears, stubbornly shaking her head.
No matter how Hermione tried to reason with her, it was to no avail. She turned to Ivan, giving him a meaningful look, silently urging him to take control of the situation.
Ivan cleared his throat and put on a stern face, speaking earnestly. "You can’t speak like that, Lilane. This time nothing happened, but what about next time, or the time after that? Can you guarantee that you’ll always be this lucky?"
"I remember last year when you were practicing Magic in the Forbidden Forest, and you almost set fire to the Centaur settlement. If I hadn’t arrived in time, you would have been captured by them..."
"Ha, those Centaurs couldn’t beat me even if they all ganged up on me!" Lilane retorted, having mastered Flame Incarnation a year ago. No matter how many of those bow-wielding Centaurs there were, they couldn’t touch her.
"Centaurs are Wisdom Beings, and you should avoid harassing them unless absolutely necessary. Besides, your mother is considering adding them to the list of protected species this month. So, it’s best not to cause her any trouble, or you’ll get a beating..." Ivan ruffled Lilane’s hair, reminding her sternly.
Lilane swatted away Ivan’s hand, puffing out her chest with pride. "Stop touching my head, I’m already grown up, and I’m starting my third year this year, Dad!"
"Nonsense, in the Wizarding World, you’re not considered an adult until you’re seventeen. You’re only thirteen, so you’ve got a long way to go!" Ivan glared at the young witch, pushing her into a seat beside him and warning her sternly, "And remember, no early romantic relationships in school, got it?"
"If I find out, that person is going to be in deep trouble!" Ivan pinched Lilane’s cheek, threateningly.
"Hmph", Lilane pouted. With her father, the headmaster, closely monitoring her every move at school, any boy who dared show her affection would be summoned to the Headmaster's Office for a private talk. It wasn’t like she had much of a chance to start a relationship anyway.
Besides, studying Magic was far more interesting than dating...
Ivan felt a mix of relief and a headache as he sensed his daughter's thoughts.
Lilane, his eldest daughter, had inherited his passionate obsession with Magic research, which often left Ivan worried about her safety.
Fortunately, Lilane had inherited the Phoenix bloodline and mastered the Flame Form ability, which allowed her to ignore most dangers. Otherwise, Ivan would have put an end to her reckless behavior long ago.
Thinking of this, Ivan glanced over at Liam, who would also be starting school this fall. He wondered what kind of trouble Liam would stir up at Hogwarts...
Sighing inwardly, Ivan felt a deep sense of resignation. He had risked his life to fuse various bloodlines, and now all his efforts seemed to benefit these rambunctious kids... and none of them gave him a moment's peace!
Oh, but that wasn't entirely true. At least Emma was always well-behaved in front of him...
"You're the best, Emma!" Ivan happily hugged his little ray of sunshine and kissed her forehead.
Liam and Lilane watched this with a pout, feeling quite indignant. They knew Emma was the most mischievous of them all, and her usually sweet demeanor was just an act.
"Alright, alright, let's talk about this after breakfast", Asia intervened, drawing everyone's attention.
Ivan and Hermione temporarily let Lilane off the hook, and the family enjoyed a warm and harmonious breakfast together.
After the meal, Lilane, feeling guilty, hurriedly ran upstairs, not giving Hermione a chance to scold her further.
Emma and Liam were also sent off to school by Ivan. Though they hadn't officially entered Hogwarts yet, they still had to attend primary school with other Muggle children. Ivan wouldn't show any mercy if they didn't get good grades.
Ivan was left to clear the dishes. With a flick of the Elder Wand, the pots and pans floated up, cleaned themselves under the influence of Magic, and neatly returned to the kitchen.
It had been nearly nineteen years since Ivan had a worthy opponent, and the most powerful wand had become a tool for handling daily chores. Still, it was quite useful.
Goo, goo...
Just as Ivan finished his chores, an Owl flew in through the open window, carrying a white envelope. It landed gracefully in front of him.
Ivan reached out to take it, but Hermione quickly snatched it from his hand, suspiciously asking, "Who is this from? Luna?"
"Probably", Ivan replied. Since he created the Magic Network System seven years ago, this old-fashioned method of communication had become rare. However, out of habit, Luna still sent him a letter every now and then.
"I'll take a look first!" Hermione opened the letter with ease.
Ivan didn't mind and sat down with her on the sofa to read it. The letter was brief, detailing Luna's interesting experiences while searching for magical creatures in the Brazilian Rainforest this year...
