Chapter 1011: Epilogue — A Warm Daily Life
Chapter 1011: Epilogue — A Warm Daily Life
"Then you two had better work hard, Emma and Liam. Try to surpass your father soon", Asia said gently, looking at her grandchildren with a teasing smile.
Emma, who was hiding in Ivan's arms, nodded. Liam, more confidently, tapped his fork against his bowl and declared, "Just wait! It won't be long before the title of the strongest Wizards belongs to me!"
Ivan glanced at little Liam, shaking his head with a chuckle. It would take a few hundred more years of practice before he could even think about surpassing him.
Just as Ivan was about to say something teasing, a loud commotion came from behind them.
Turning his head, Ivan saw Hermione scolding their thirteen-year-old daughter, Lilane, who was a young witch. Thanks to inheriting the Phoenix Bloodline, Lilane's eyes glowed with a brilliant golden-red. Her appearance closely resembled her mother's, with the same chestnut-brown hair. A baby Phoenix perched on her head, summoned when her Bloodline awakened at age eleven.
"Mom, can you stop being so naggy? I only blew up a Training Room, and no one was hurt. Dad can just wave his wand and use a Reparo spell", Lilane said, covering her ears in a childish way, refusing to listen.
No matter how much Hermione tried to reason with her, it was no use. She turned to Ivan, giving him a look that clearly said, "Do something about your daughter!"
Ivan cleared his throat and put on a serious face. "You can't talk like that, Lilane. This time nothing happened, but what about next time, or the time after that? Can you guarantee that you'll always be this lucky?"
"I remember last year when you were practicing Magic in the Forbidden Forest and almost set fire to the Centaur settlement. If I hadn't arrived in time, you would have been caught by them..."
"That's not true! Those Centaurs wouldn't stand a chance against me, even all together!" Lilane retorted, having mastered Flame Incarnation a year ago. No matter how many of those bow-wielding Centaurs there were, they couldn't touch her.
"Centaurs are wise beings. It's best not to harass them unless you have a good reason. Besides, your mother is considering adding them to the list of protected species this month. So, it's best not to cause her any trouble, or you might end up getting a beating..." Ivan ruffled Lilane's hair, reminding her sternly.
Lilane swatted away Ivan's hand, puffing out her chest proudly. "Stop touching my head, I'm already grown up! I'm starting third year this year, Dad!"
"Rubbish. In the Wizarding World, you're not considered an adult until you're seventeen. You're only thirteen, so you have a long way to go!" Ivan gave the young witch a stern look, pushing her into a seat beside him. "And remember, no early romances at school, got it?"
"If I find out you're dating someone, they'll be in big trouble!" Ivan pinched Lilane's cheek, threatening her.
"Whatever", Lilane muttered, rolling her eyes. With her father, the headmaster, closely monitoring her every move at school, any boy who tried to show her affection would be summoned to the Headmaster's Office for a private talk. Even if she wanted to, she wouldn't have the chance to date.
Besides, studying Magic was much more fun than dating...
Sensing his daughter's thoughts, Ivan felt a mix of relief and a headache.
Lilane, his eldest daughter, had inherited his passionate dedication to Magic research, which often left Ivan worried about her safety.
Fortunately, Lilane had inherited the Phoenix bloodline and mastered the Flame Form ability, allowing her to ignore most dangers. Otherwise, Ivan would have stopped her from continuing her reckless behavior.
Thinking about this, Ivan glanced at Liam, who would also be starting school this fall. He wondered what kind of trouble Liam would cause once he entered Hogwarts...
Sighing inwardly, Ivan felt a deep sense of parental concern. He had gone through so much danger, fusing bloodlines at the risk of his life, and now all the benefits had gone to these little troublemakers... and not one of them gave him a moment's peace!
Oh, but that wasn't entirely true. At least Emma was always well-behaved in front of him...
"You're the best, Emma!" Ivan said happily, hugging his little comfort blanket and kissing her forehead.
Liam and Lilane, watching this scene, pouted in envy. They knew that the most mischievous one among them was actually Emma, who only pretended to be well-behaved.
"Alright, alright, let's wait until after breakfast to discuss anything", Asia interjected, drawing everyone's attention.
Ivan and Hermione temporarily let Lilane off the hook, and the family enjoyed a warm, harmonious breakfast together.
After the meal, Lilane, feeling guilty, hurriedly ran upstairs, avoiding any chance for Hermione to scold her further.
Emma and Liam were also sent off to school by Ivan. Although they hadn't yet started at Hogwarts, they still attended primary school like other Muggle children. Ivan wouldn't tolerate poor grades.
Left with the task of clearing the dishes, Ivan waved the Elder Wand, and the pots and pans floated up, cleaned themselves under the influence of Magic, and neatly returned to the kitchen.
It had been nearly nineteen years since Ivan had a worthy opponent, and the most powerful wand had become a tool for handling daily chores. Despite this, it was still incredibly useful.
Goo... goo...
Just as Ivan finished the chores, an Owl flew in through the open window, carrying a white envelope, which it gently dropped in front of him.
Ivan reached out to take it, but Hermione quickly snatched the envelope from his hand, suspiciously asking, "Who's this letter from? Luna?"
"Probably", Ivan replied. Since he had created the Magic Network System seven years ago, this outdated method of communication had become rare. However, out of habit, Luna still sent him a letter every now and then.
"I'll take a look first!" Hermione said, opening the letter with ease.
Ivan didn't mind and sat down on the sofa with Hermione to read the letter together. The content was simple, recounting Luna's interesting experiences while searching for Magical Creatures in the Brazilian Rainforest this year...
