Chapter 1011: Epilogue — A Heartwarming Daily Life
Chapter 1011: Epilogue — A Heartwarming Daily Life
"Then you two better work hard, Emma and Liam, and try to surpass your father soon", Asia said gently, looking at her grandchildren with a teasing smile.
Emma, hiding in Ivan's arms, nodded. Liam, on the other hand, tapped his fork against his bowl confidently and declared, "Just wait and see, it won't be long before the title of the strongest Wizard is mine!"
Ivan glanced at little Liam and shook his head with a chuckle. It would take a few more centuries of practice before he could even think about surpassing him.
Just as Ivan was about to tease him a bit, a noisy commotion came from behind.
Turning his head, Ivan saw Hermione scolding a thirteen-year-old young witch, their eldest daughter, Lilane.
Due to her Phoenix Bloodline, Lilane's eyes shone a brilliant golden-red, and her appearance closely resembled her mother's, with the same chestnut-brown hair. A Phoenix Chick perched on her head, a companion she had summoned during her Bloodline Awakening at the age of eleven.
"Mom, can you please stop nagging? I only blew up a Training Room, and no one was hurt. Dad could just wave his wand and use a Reparo spell to fix it", Lilane covered her ears, stubbornly repeating, "I'm not listening, I'm not listening."
No matter how Hermione tried to reason with her, it had no effect. She turned to Ivan, using her eyes to signal him to take control of the situation.
Ivan cleared his throat and put on a serious face. "You can't talk like that, Lilane. This time nothing happened, but what about next time, or the time after that? Can you guarantee you'll always be this lucky?"
"I remember last year when you were practicing magic in the Forbidden Forest and almost set fire to the Centaur settlement. If I hadn't arrived in time, you would have been captured by them..."
"That's not true! Even all the Centaurs combined couldn't beat me!" Lilane retorted, having mastered Flame Incarnation a year ago. No matter how many Centaurs there were, with their bows and arrows, they stood no chance against her.
"Even so, Centaurs are wise beings. It's best not to harass them unless you have a good reason. Besides, your mother is considering adding them to the list of protected species this month, so don't cause her any trouble, or you'll be in for a beating..." Ivan ruffled Lilane's hair, reminding her sternly.
Lilane swatted away Ivan's hand, straightened her chest, and said proudly, "Don't touch my head, I'm not a little girl anymore. I'll be starting my third year this year, Dad!"
"Rubbish, in the Wizarding World, you're not considered an adult until you're seventeen. You're only thirteen, so you have a long way to go!" Ivan glared at the young witch, pushed her into a nearby seat, and warned her sternly, "And remember, no early romance at school, got it?"
"If I catch you, that boy is finished!" Ivan pinched Lilane's cheek, threateningly.
"Hmph", Lilane pouted. With her father, the headmaster, closely monitoring her every move at school, every boy who tried to express interest in her was promptly summoned to the Headmaster's Office for a private chat. She didn't even have a chance to think about early romance.
Besides, studying magic was far more interesting than dating...
Sensing his daughter's thoughts, Ivan felt a mix of relief and a headache.
Lilane, his eldest daughter, had inherited his passionate dedication to Magic research, which often left Ivan worried about her safety.
Fortunately, Lilane had inherited the Phoenix bloodline, granting her the ability to transform into Flame Form, which allowed her to ignore most dangers. Otherwise, Ivan would have put a stop to her reckless behavior long ago.
Thinking of this, Ivan glanced over at Liam, who would also be of school age by the end of this year. He wondered what kind of trouble Liam would stir up once he entered Hogwarts...
Sighing inwardly with the heavy heart of a father, Ivan thought, "Maybe I should just retire altogether..." He had gone through immense hardship and risked his life to fuse various bloodlines, and now all the benefits went to these little troublemakers... Not one of them gave him a moment's peace!
Oh, no, that wasn't entirely true. At least Emma was always well-behaved in front of him...
"You're the best, Emma!" Ivan said happily, hugging his little sweetheart and giving her a kiss on the forehead.
Liam and Lilane, watching this, pouted indignantly. They knew that Emma was the most mischievous of them all, and her seemingly well-behaved demeanor was just an act.
"Alright, alright, let's discuss everything after breakfast", Asia interjected, trying to defuse the tension and drawing everyone's attention to her.
Ivan and Hermione temporarily let Lilane off the hook, and the family enjoyed a warm and harmonious breakfast together.
After the meal, Lilane, feeling guilty, hurriedly ran upstairs, not giving Hermione a chance to scold her again.
Emma and Liam were also sent off to school by Ivan. Although they hadn't officially started at Hogwarts yet, they still had to attend primary school like other Muggle children. Ivan wouldn't go easy on them if they didn't get good grades.
Ivan, left to clean up, waved the Elder Wand, and the dishes on the table floated up, cleaned themselves under the influence of Magic, and neatly returned to the kitchen.
It had been nearly nineteen years since Ivan had faced a worthy opponent, and the most powerful wand had become a tool for handling daily chores. Despite this, it was still quite useful.
Hoot... Hoot...
Just as Ivan finished the chores, an Owl flew in through the open window, carrying a white envelope. It landed gracefully in front of him.
Ivan reached out to take it, but before he could open it, Hermione scooted over, skillfully snatching the envelope from his hand and asking suspiciously, "Who's this letter from? Luna?"
"Probably", Ivan replied. Since he created the Magic Network System seven years ago, this outdated method of communication had become rare. However, Luna still sent him a letter every now and then out of habit.
"I'll take a look first!" Hermione said, opening the letter with ease.
Ivan didn't mind and sat down with Hermione on the sofa to read the letter together. The content was straightforward, detailing Luna's interesting experiences while searching for magical creatures in the Brazilian Rainforest this year...
