Chapter 1010: Epilogue — Nineteen Years Later (Thanks to the generous million-dollar donation from Silver Alliance Leader "You Have Me Truly Lonely"!)
"Due to the incompetent actions of the Ministers of Magic, the notorious Dark Wizard Grindelwald was able to recruit followers in the Wizarding World, attempting to spark a war between the magical and the real world..."
In the morning in London, within the grand mansion of the Hales Family, Ivan was holding a young witch with beautiful blonde hair, less than ten years old, and telling her stories from the past.
"Then what happened? Then what happened! Father, you must have stopped him, right?" the young witch asked eagerly, her large, round eyes filled with anticipation and admiration.
"Hmm, well..." Ivan deliberately drew out his words, waiting until the young witch could barely stand the suspense before he playfully ruffled her hair. "Emma, if you don't pick at your food and eat properly this morning, I'll tell you what happened next!"
Emma pouted, looking unhappy, while a slightly older young warlock couldn't help but chime in.
"I know what happened next. Father, you had a one-on-one Duel with Grindelwald in the Department of Mysteries of the French Ministry of Magic, killed this Dark Lord, and averted an impending war!"
"Liam, spoiling the story isn't a good habit..." Ivan reached out and playfully flicked Liam's forehead. He had finally found a way to encourage his daughter to eat properly, and it was ruined.
Emma opened her mouth to say something, but then she saw her mother, Hermione, walking out of the kitchen with a tray. Her eyes darted around, and the words on the tip of her tongue changed. She asked with a mischievous smile, "Do you know where Mom was at that time, Liam? She must have fought alongside Father, right?"
"No way, I heard Mom was still studying at Hogwarts back then. She wasn't as powerful as Father, so she couldn't have helped much..." Liam said dismissively, but as soon as he finished speaking, he felt a strange chill crawl up his spine.
Liam shivered and turned his head to find his mother, Hermione, standing behind him, staring at him with an amused yet stern look.
Liam immediately realized he had fallen for Emma's trick and glared at his sister in annoyance. Unfortunately, his Petrifying Gaze was prone to losing control, so Ivan had sealed it, rendering his glare ineffective.
Emma was undaunted by her brother's anger. She stuck out her tongue at Liam and then hid in Ivan's arms, giggling.
"You're wrong, Liam. I was able to defeat Grindelwald thanks to your mother's help!" Ivan laughed, interrupting their squabble. He then began to recount the details of the battle, capturing the curiosity of both children. He concluded, "Nineteen years ago, during that Duel, Grindelwald and I were evenly matched. He had the advantage of the Ministry of Magic's resources and the home-field advantage. If I hadn't taken Felix Felicis beforehand and had the protection of the Crescent Pendant your mother enchanted, the outcome could have been very different..."
As Ivan continued his story, Emma and Liam began to understand just how perilous that Duel had been. Even their powerful father had relied on the protection provided by the Crescent Pendant to secure a narrow victory. The epic confrontation left the two children in awe.
“I think Father is still the most powerful. Grindelwald was over a hundred years old, ten times older than Father, and he still lost. If it were now, Father could easily defeat him!” Emma said admiringly.
“You’re such a sweet talker! But you’re not wrong…” Ivan affectionately tapped Emma’s forehead. Three years ago, his various magic skills had already broken through the ninth level, reaching nearly the Word of Power stage. Defeating Grindelwald back then was indeed a piece of cake.
Hermione gradually recalled the past, a smile playing on her lips. She set a plate of mashed potatoes on the table and playfully pinched Liam’s delicate cheek. “Did you hear that, Liam! Who said I didn’t help?”
As they chatted, Ivan’s expression suddenly changed, followed by a loud explosion.
Everyone was startled, but they didn’t overreact. Emma, nestled in Ivan’s arms, muttered, “It’s definitely big sister blowing up the Training Room again!”
Hermione, clearly guessing it was her eldest daughter, veins popping on her forehead, stormed towards the Training Room, shouting, “Lilane! Get out here right now!”
“Looks like big sister is in trouble!” Emma sighed theatrically.
Ivan ruffled his younger daughter’s head, wondering if she was asking for a beating with her gloating.
“Mom, how could you give such a dangerous Blast Spell to Lilane?” Ivan turned to Asia, who was cutting her steak, and said with a sigh.
Thanks to the Elixir of Life, even after nineteen years, Asia’s appearance had not changed and even seemed younger.
Ivan and Hermione had also taken the potion early on, their appearances forever fixed at eighteen years old. This made Hermione and their eldest daughter, Lilane, look more like sisters than mother and daughter when they stood together.
“Lilane has a rare talent; it would be a waste to let it go unused. Besides, with blood magic, even the most intense flames or explosions can’t harm her, right?” Asia calmly placed a piece of steak in her mouth and continued with a smile. “I remember you learning these spells at an even younger age!”
“How can you compare the two?” Ivan shook his head. Although he had mastered many dangerous spells at eleven or twelve, controlling them at such a young age was no small feat.
“Why can’t they be compared?” Asia asked, surprised.
Ivan couldn't reveal the truth about his past, so he simply sighed and said, “I am the most outstanding genius in the Wizarding World, and my mastery of magic is unparalleled – I can easily grasp any spell and maintain perfect control.”
Liam and Emma exchanged glances, rolling their eyes in unison. Father was at it again, boasting about himself.
Asia was speechless but couldn’t refute him, as it was a widely acknowledged fact. She felt a mix of pride and confusion, wondering how she could have given birth to such a prodigy.
