Chapter 1005: A New Beginning (Part 4)
Chapter 1005: A New Beginning (Part 4)
At the same time, the Muggles surrounding the Palace of Versailles also noticed the heavy pressure descending from above. This apocalyptic tremor made everyone present involuntarily look up at the sky.
"My God, this can't be a dream, right?" a Muggles officer stammered, his hand trembling as he clutched his gun, his eyes nearly bulging out of their sockets.
Beside him, the on-site commander, Domenick, was not faring much better. His eyes were filled with horror, but he didn't forget his duty. As he regained his composure, he turned and shouted hoarsely, "It's a tornado! Abort the mission, everyone, retreat quickly!"
Domenick's desperate cries soon roused the France soldiers who were still stunned on the spot. Without hesitation, they all fled in a frenzy, none of them arrogant enough to believe they could stand against the forces of nature.
Behind them, a massive tornado, several dozen meters in diameter and reaching up to the clouds, stood tall on the vast square in front of the Palace of Versailles, hurtling directly towards them!
As the storm swept through, tiles shattered and floated away, trees were uprooted, water from the pools surged, and windows and doors exploded. Everything around was sucked into the terrifying tornado.
The first to suffer were the helicopters in the sky. Under the immense pressure of the storm, they lost all control, and the pilots could only watch helplessly as they were swept away, leaving behind only cries of despair.
The abandoned tanks and armored vehicles on the ground were next to be caught by the violent tornado. These multi-ton behemoths, which were sturdy and reassuring on the battlefield, were powerless against such a massive storm. They were easily lifted hundreds of meters into the air and then thrown to the ground, turning into heaps of scrap metal.
Is this... Magic?! The Potions Masters present were dumbfounded by the sight.
Fenrir, Walker, and the others, though aware of Ivan's extraordinary abilities, had not anticipated that he could summon such a terrifying storm with a mere gesture. This cataclysmic tornado truly challenged their understanding of Magic...
Such power... even the legendary Great Wizards like Merlin could hardly have been more formidable.
As the Wizards were in shock, the Muggles soldiers below were nearly in despair. Their legs could not outrun the rapidly approaching tornado, and within seconds, they were all swept up.
Fortunately, Ivan was not a man who relished in slaughter. Wiping out thousands of lives at once did not align with the Wizards' philosophy of peaceful coexistence with Muggles. Thus, he timely reduced the storm's destructive power, giving them a sufficient lesson before using his wand to release the now unconscious Muggles soldiers.
Under Ivan's control, the terrifying tornado slowly dissipated, leaving behind a scene of chaos. The ground was torn open by a massive gash, and the once fully armed soldiers now lay scattered on the soft earth, which had been plowed by the storm.
It must be said that, aside from high-yield nuclear weapons, human technology was utterly helpless against the might of nature...
"Let's go. We'll head to the Élysée Palace to meet the President", Ivan said, having easily dealt with this minor inconvenience. Without further ado, he Apparated to the next location.
...
"What did you say? A tornado suddenly appeared outside the Palace of Versailles, and it attacked our advance forces? Everyone's lost contact?!" In the President's office at the Élysée Palace, President Siden was stunned by the sudden news, almost thinking it was some kind of April Fool's joke.
How could such a coincidental event happen, and where did the tornado in Paris come from?
Seton instinctively wanted to lash out in anger, but the Secretary-General beside him suddenly tugged at his sleeve, pointing out the window with a look of shock.
Seton turned his head in confusion, his pupils constricting with disbelief.
Although they were quite far from the Palace of Versailles, they could still see the massive tornado above the palace complex, as if it were about to pierce through heaven and earth. Most critically, the storm was rapidly approaching their location.
At that moment, the President's office was in chaos, with countless high-ranking officials scrambling to flee. Seton himself was at a loss, and just as he was about to activate the emergency protocol, the terrifying storm suddenly subsided.
The enormous tornado vanished without a trace right before their eyes.
Seton let out a slow breath, cold sweat dripping from his forehead. He looked shakily at the France Wizards in their old-fashioned robes in the room, and said with a mix of shock and anger, "What is going on here? Don't tell me this thing was also conjured by those evil Wizards?!"
The Acolytes exchanged glances, each looking more grim than the last. Finally, the leader spoke to reassure him, "There is a possibility... but you don't need to worry too much, President Sir. I believe the leader will resolve these threats for you."
Seton frowned, quickly recalling the middle-aged Wizard with heterochromia who had appeared in his home three months ago. That Wizard had used a potion and various powerful Magic to show him the extent of an individual's strength.
Thinking about the tornado that had just disappeared, Seton pieced together what must have happened. It must have been Grindelwald who dispersed it.
This thought brought him some comfort, but it was short-lived. A low voice then rang out in the room.
"If you mean Gellert Grindelwald when you say 'leader,' I'm afraid he can't help you now..."
"Who's there?!" The Death Eaters reacted immediately, drawing their wands and pointing them at the door, joined by the President's guards.
Under everyone's watchful eyes, the office door slowly opened. To Seton's surprise, a young boy walked in.
Ivan scanned the room, completely ignoring the dozens of wands and guns pointed at him. His eyes moved directly to France President Seton, and he bowed slightly, speaking politely.
"Hello, President Seton. I am the Acting President of the International Confederation of Wizards. You can call me Hals. Just now, my Aurors received information that a group of malevolent Wizards intended to kidnap the France President. I have come to assist you."
