Yeshen said, "Right off the bat, you’re summoning a higher-level monster?"
"If that level of surprise is all it takes, I’ll have even less respect for you three brothers", Youxuan replied. "The card I just discarded to the Graveyard was the Quick-Play Spell, 'Silent Magic Burst.'"
The card in Youxuan's Graveyard was removed and displayed in his hand.
"By banishing 'Silent Magic Burst' from the Graveyard, I can add a Silent Mage from my Deck to my hand."
Youxuan's Deck automatically searched, and a card glowing with a golden light popped out, which he drew into his hand.
"I add 'True Silent Mage' from my Deck to my hand."
Yeshen noticed that Youxuan was summoning and searching for magician-type monsters.
"Magicians", Yeshen said with a sneer. "Ha, little magicians, they’re just a bunch of showy tricksters who rely on illusions. You don’t really think you can fight a god with just a few magicians, do you?"
"Just a few magicians, huh?" Youxuan smiled lightly. "Why don’t you feel that for yourself, Lord Yeshen.
I Normal Summon 'Black Forest Witch' in Attack Position."
The black-robed witch, eyes closed, crossed her fingers as if in silent prayer.

"The 'True Silent Mage' in my hand cannot be Normal Summoned; it can only be Special Summoned by tributing a magician-type monster on the field.
I tribute my 'Black Forest Witch'!
With the silent wings of hope, the Light Mage, I summon you—
—True Silent Mage, Summon!"
The witch dissolved into light, but a white magic circle appeared at her feet. The brilliant light coalesced into a fluttering robe, silver hair, and the graceful form of a white-robed mage, who gently landed on the floating magic circle.

"An elf, already?"
Yeshen narrowed his eyes, eyeing the silent mage and then Youxuan with an evil gaze, and sneered.
"Heh, you have quite a few elves, don’t you? Once I defeat you, your power and all these elves will become our nourishment."
"Is that so? I wish you luck with that."
Youxuan smiled indifferently and continued.
"Black Forest Witch, activate its monster effect.
When the witch is sent to the Graveyard, I can add a monster with Def 1500 or less from my Deck to my hand."
Youxuan's Deck performed another search, and another monster card popped out. Youxuan held the card between two fingers and shook it lightly.
"I add this card with Def 1500, 'Psychic Overlord,' from my Deck to my hand."
Youxuan then inserted another Magic Card into the back row.
"Magic Card 'Double Summon' allows me to perform a second Normal Summon this turn.
Therefore, I tribute 'Trickster'!"
The Trickster's body dissipated, and a burst of red, transparent electricity exploded. Dark red mechanical eyes lit up, and the metallic body of the Psychic Overlord floated in the air, its psychokinetic waves enveloping the entire field.

"Not a magician this time, but a Psychic?"
A cold gleam flashed in Yeshen's eyes.
This is also an elf!
Yeshen began to feel a growing interest.
This guy indeed has quite a few elves. Winning this battle would be a huge windfall. Swallowing this guy and all his elves would likely restore a significant amount of power to the three of them.
"Turn ends."
Youxuan finished setting up his field for the first Turn and gestured with a "please" motion.
Yeshen: "My Turn, Draw."

Yeshen revealed a card from his hand.
"I activate the Magic Card, Soul Capturer!
Destroy one of your monsters, and you can recover 1000 Life Points!"
Yeshen squinted and examined Youxuan’s two monsters on the field for a moment. His gaze then settled on the Psychic Overlord.
Soga, who had been standing calmly with his arms crossed, suddenly lost his composure. He lowered his arms, his heart sinking.
Oh no, I finally get to make an appearance, and I’m about to meet a tragic end again.
"Hmm, I remember this guy has the ability to nullify all Traps, quite a troublesome fellow", Yeshen said. "Then I’ll start with you.
Destroy the Psychic Overlord!"
Soga’s face twisted in fury.
I knew it, I damn well knew it.
But then—
"Mu da!"
Youxuan snapped his fingers. A burst of white light immediately rose in Yeshen’s backfield, like magical chains binding the Magic Card. The card’s surface dimmed as if its magic had been drained, withering and cracking like a dying flower.
"What?"
Yeshen’s expression changed, and his eyes quickly locked onto the Silent Mage on Youxuan’s field.
The white-robed wizard’s staff pointed at him, the staff glowing with a cold, determined light.
"I see", Yeshen said. "It’s the ability of that Mage, isn’t it?"
"Exactly", Youxuan replied. "The True Silent Mage is a Mage of Light with the ability to nullify Magic Card activations once per Turn.
I used the power of silence to nullify the activation of Soul Capturer!"
Soga couldn’t help but look at the Silent Mage with gratitude.
Yeshen grunted.
"Fine, troublesome Mage. Then I’ll start by dealing with you."
Yeshen squinted and scanned the two monsters on Youxuan’s field.
"I see. The True Silent Mage has the power to nullify magic, while the Psychic Overlord is the king of Trap nullification."
Dual Seal!
At this point, Yeshen had clearly seen that Youxuan’s opening move was to set up a dual seal formation, greatly restricting his use of Magic and Trap Cards. It was a cunning strategy.
But he was the strongest Yeshen, and it would be a grave mistake to think that such a level of restriction could confine his actions.
Yeshen revealed another card from his hand.
"Then I activate the effect of Fallen Angel Ixtab! Send this card and another Fallen Angel from my hand to the Graveyard, and draw two cards from my Deck!"
Yeshen discarded two cards and then drew two new ones.
"Next, I activate the Magic Card, Hand Destruction.
Both players discard all their cards and then draw the same number of cards from their Decks."
Youxuan and Yeshen both discarded their remaining cards and drew new ones from their Decks.
"This level of restriction has no effect on a Duel with a God. I’ll show you that now!"
Yeshen declared.
"I activate the Magic Card, Altar of Fallen Angels! Revive one Fallen Angel monster from my Graveyard!
I revive the card I just discarded with Hand Destruction—"
Yeshen drew the monster card from his Graveyard.
"Fallen Angel Subbia, summon!"
