Chapter 1001: The Endbringer?
Chapter 1001: The Endbringer?
"Roar—"
Like a thunderclap from the depths of the universe, the roar shook the entire dark domain, as if it were about to shatter.
The space trembled, and the colossal form of Yeshen at the heart of this realm began to collapse. His body shifted between the tangible and the ethereal, fragments peeling off and dissipating into black mist. The towering figure crumbled into dust, scattering in the darkness.
"How... how is this possible?"
Yeshen's voice sounded as if he was about to spit blood.
He was a god! A god capable of destroying everything and bringing the world to its end!
And yet, he was forcibly merged by the opponent! Could you believe it?!
When you can't win, you Synchro? How could there be such a shameless thing in the world? And the pressure released by this card was incredibly strong, almost on par with the several Yeshens.
It made no sense, none of it made any sense!
Yeshen had existed for many years, his knowledge far surpassing that of ordinary humans. He had experienced defeats, imprisonments, and all sorts of trials.
But being forcibly merged? This was the first time.
In the end, the shadow of Yeshen shattered. The humanoid form that had appeared before Jou to Duel him could no longer be maintained and completely disintegrated. The Duel Disk, which had been conjured from black mist at the start of the battle, also disintegrated and vanished with the end of the Duel.
But the Deck Yeshen had used did not disappear. It was scattered on the ground.
Jou approached, quickly examined the Deck, and then frowned slightly.
You Bei asked, "No Yeshen cards?"
"None", Jou replied, standing up and thinking for a moment. "But I feel like through that Duel, we should have completely defeated him."
You Bei said, "Considering he called himself a god, it's not surprising that he might have some ultimate trump card."
Jou asked, "So, was the one we defeated just a clone?"
You Bei shook her head. "No, I think it was Yeshen himself. Even if he managed to escape using some means, he's certainly in no state to make a comeback. He won't be able to initiate another Darkness Duel like that."
Jou nodded, not pressing further. He stood up, but after a moment's thought, he squatted down again and collected all the scattered cards.
You Bei: "..."
She felt Jou wasn't always like this.
It seemed he had been corrupted by some unscrupulous person.
Jou put all the cards back into the card box, closed it, and patted it. "Dueling is a power that shouldn't be abused. If we leave these cards here, they might be used by evil people to harm others in the future. That wouldn't be the true purpose of the cards."
You Bei suddenly thought, "This must be something someone taught you, right?"
The words themselves were sound, but if they came from that person, You Bei suspected that person might be the "evil person" himself.
And to think, he even taught Jou something like this. What kind of close relationship did they have while she was away?
Annoying...
Due to the changes in the timeline, the original You Bei had been jealous of John, seeing him and Jou constantly hanging out and acting like brothers. She even possessed John and caused quite a commotion. Now, with John largely out of the picture, a certain unscrupulous Duel King had taken his place in You Bei's heart.
"Alright, let's keep moving", Jou said. "I wonder if Youxuan and Kaiba have taken care of the other Yeshens yet?"
At this moment, his Duel Disk deactivated, and the "Malevolent Hero New Universe Overlord" that had been summoned during the Duel also became transparent, eventually dissipating into nothingness.
You Bei stared at the spot where the Malevolent Hero had just vanished, her emotions mixed.
The New Universe Overlord, a new form created by fusing New Universe Hero and Yeshen Ultra, was certainly impressive.
But she also glanced at the card's description, noting that the Synchro condition didn't specify that Yeshen had to be used; it only required a "Field Effect Monster."
That made sense. If every Synchro required Yeshen, the cost would be too high.
When she first saw the New Universe Overlord, the black armor, red cloak, and the distinct Emperor-like attire, yet with the form of New Universe Hero, it had a strange and powerful impact on her.
New Universe Hero was a force Emperor had never possessed in his past life, a card that represented Jou's soul in this life, his beloved ace and the symbol of his Deck. So, in a way, the creation of this card also proved something.
Jou, though reincarnated, was not a simple revival of his past self.
Now, he was You Cheng Shidai, and only You Cheng Shidai—a Duelist with a passion for Duels and a future destined to shake the world.
In the deepest part of the Darkness Realm.
A cloud of dark mist quietly returned to this domain.
Though it was just a cloud of mist, it somehow had a sneaky, furtive appearance. As it approached the heart of the domain, it slowed down, hesitating for a moment as if carefully peering around.
After a while, feeling no one was paying attention, it cautiously and slowly moved forward, as if constantly whispering, "Can't see me, can't see me."
But as the saying goes, what you fear will come to pass.
A stern voice echoed through the Darkness: "You have returned as well."
The cloud of mist froze.
The Darkness within the domain swirled and converged, forming a massive black sphere. This dark orb, like a black sun, emitted no light or heat but hung silently in the air, sending shivers through the soul.
This was Yeshen, the Divine Incarnate.
The cloud of mist, now the Annihilator, gritted its teeth and said, "I was careless. I didn't expect that boy to be so cunning, and he used me as Synchro material."
"Defeat is defeat", the Divine Incarnate stated.
The Annihilator immediately fell silent, "Yes, yes, sir."
"Enough. In this pitiful state, you have no other use", the Divine Incarnate continued. "Come here."
The cloud of mist immediately transformed into a card and shot over, hanging in the air. Now, three cards floated in the air: the central one was "Yeshen, Divine Incarnate", the one on the left was "Yeshen, Root of Fear", and the Annihilator, now a card, hung on the right.
Both Root of Fear and the Annihilator were severely injured and could no longer fight alone, relying on their leader for existence.
But the Divine Incarnate was their strongest.
They still had a chance.
"Fuji Yuken, to reach this point with a human body", the Divine Incarnate murmured, looking at the three Yeshen cards.
"Will you be the one to bring us to our ultimate end?"
