Chapter 1: Rebirth in the Marvel World (Revised)
Chapter 1: Rebirth in the Marvel World (Revised)
...
In New York, Queens, a yellow school bus filled with elementary school students.
Sitting in the last row, a handsome little boy with brown hair sighed deeply as he watched the news report on the TV at the front of the bus:
"Iron Man, I never thought this would be the incredibly dangerous Marvel 'movie' world. No wonder Captain America in the elementary school textbook looked so familiar; I almost thought it was a mistake."
It turned out that the news on the TV was about the recent major announcement by Tony Stark, the chairman of Stark Industries, who publicly admitted to being Iron Man.
The boy's name was Jerry Carmen, and he was eleven years old, about to start middle school.
Of course, this was only his identity in this life.
In reality, he was a time traveler who had been transported to this world after an accident in his previous life, and eleven years had passed since then.
At first, he thought he had just been transported to a foreign country. However, various signs, such as TV shows, textbooks, and slightly off historical stories, suggested that things were not as simple as he had imagined.
It wasn't until recently, when the famous Iron Man was reported in all the news, that he could finally confirm that this was indeed the legendary Marvel movie world, where a single snap of fingers could destroy half the universe.
In his previous life, Jerry wasn't very familiar with the Marvel films. He had seen the three Spider-Man movies starring Tobey Maguire early on, but his Marvel-obsessed colleague later told him that they were quite different from the Marvel series.
However, he did watch the first Avengers movie because a colleague, who was also single, had no one to accompany him and invited Jerry to watch it. Thinking it was free, he went along.
But since he wasn't a Marvel fan and hadn't seen any other Marvel movies, he was quite confused during the film. By the end, he couldn't even figure out who the main characters were.
So, he didn't watch the subsequent Avengers movies, only hearing from his colleague that the purple alien who appeared at the end of the first Avengers movie was called Thanos. He snapped his fingers and wiped out half the universe, including Earth, in a brutal manner.
His colleague often talked about Marvel around him, but he didn't pay much attention.
People are like that; when someone enthusiastically pushes something they like but you only know a little about, you tend to feel annoyed inside.
If it weren't for being reborn in this world, he probably wouldn't remember that the man with the shield and tight outfit, with a very nice butt, was called Captain America, or that Iron Man's real name was Tony Stark.
The character he remembered most from the movie was Thor, the god with the hammer. He always thought of that line:
"I am Thor, for the glory of the Northern gods!"
And then there was Black Widow, whom he liked simply because she was beautiful and had a great figure. Who doesn't love a beautiful woman?
Now, he regrets not being dragged into the Marvel fandom by his colleague. Otherwise, he wouldn't be so melancholic now.
...
"In the distant frozen realm, answer my call, O Ice Demon. Black blizzard, freeze all! Turn everything to snow! — Frost Seal!"
As Jerry was lost in thought, pondering his future, a "majestic" yet childish voice suddenly rang in his ear.
Turning his head, he was immediately hit by a bunch of bubbles.
"Elsa, I told you, you can't play with the Magic Bubble Wand on the school bus. The teacher will be upset if you do!"
Jerry looked at the little blonde girl sitting next to him, who was aiming the Magic Bubble Wand at him, and a hint of exasperation showed on his face.
"Hmph, you foul demon from the abyss, Jerry! I, Snow Queen Elsa, will vanquish you! Frost Freeze Wave!"
The little blonde girl, completely unfazed by Jerry's words, continued to shoot bubbles at him with her Magic Bubble Wand.
How could the beautiful Ice Queen submit to a demon ( ̄3 ̄) hmpf!
The little blonde girl sitting next to Jerry was named Elsa Hawthorne. She was ten years old and Jerry's sister in this life.
She had always been obsessed with magic-related animations and often imagined herself as a magic princess or queen.
Jerry would say she had a bit of Middle School Syndrome!
(Middle School Syndrome: Generally refers to a condition often triggered in second-year middle school students, who deeply believe they possess some special power, such as magic, internal energy, or magical abilities.)
However, Jerry didn't think there was anything wrong with it. After all, they were kids. Back in his previous life, at this age, he often used a stick as a sword and practiced the Nine Swords of Dugu on the dirt road after school.
There was even one time when he accidentally destroyed a small patch of rapeseed in a neighbor's field, resulting in his mother chasing him for three miles with a broom.
Sometimes, when he thought about the embarrassing things he did as a kid, he felt so awkward he could dig a two-bedroom apartment with his face.
"Ha ha ha, since you've discovered me, I won't hide anymore. I am the Demonic Overlord Jerry, and this is the Snow Queen Elsa. Take this, Dark Death Claw!"
Seeing that normal conversation wouldn't work with his sister, Jerry joined in, tickling the little girl while she giggled. He then took the opportunity to snatch her Magic Bubble Wand and tucked it into his backpack.
"Screech!"
Suddenly, the school bus came to a sharp stop, and the strong inertia almost threw Jerry, who was playing with his sister, off his seat.
Fortunately, he reacted quickly, grabbing the handle beside him to stabilize himself and holding onto his sister, who was also about to be thrown off.
However, the other children weren't so lucky. Many of them either fell off their seats or hit their heads on the windows due to the inertia, and started crying loudly.
"Mr. Paul, what's going on?"
Miss Berry, the teacher responsible for escorting the children, quickly got up to help the crying children, guiding them back to their seats and comforting them.
Jerry also told his sister to go help.
"Damn it, a car suddenly blocked our way, and I almost hit it!"
The middle-aged man driving the school bus, Paul, angrily replied and opened the door to find the car owner and argue with him.
"Bang! Bang! Bang! Clang!"
A moment later, he was pushed back into the bus, a long spear pointing at his head, his hands raised in fear.
"Nobody move, or I'll blow your heads off!"
A masked man, nearly two meters tall and covered in muscles, pointed a rifle at Paul and ordered him to sit back in the driver's seat.
Then, three more masked men, each armed with weapons and carrying large, full bags, entered the bus.
"Oh no, this is such bad luck!"
The moment Jerry heard the gunshots, he had a bad feeling and immediately returned to his seat, protecting his sister.
Sure enough, the next scene confirmed his worst fears.
"Drive away from here, head for the outskirts, or I'll blow your head off!"
The muscular man knocked the rifle against Paul's head and ordered him with a fierce voice.
"Okay, okay, I'm on it!"
Paul, now too afraid to disobey, immediately started the bus, reversed, and turned toward the outskirts.
At that moment, the sound of police sirens could be heard from behind.
"This is a school bus; they won't dare to fire back. You two, open the rear windows and start shooting!"
One of the masked men who had entered the bus with the muscular man pointed his weapon at the only teacher, Miss Berry, and gave orders to the other two.
The other two masked men nodded, opened the rear windows, and began firing wildly at the pursuing police cars.
Jerry, holding his sister Elsa, sat tightly in the last row of seats, listening to the sound of gunfire and the excited roars of the masked men, his heart pounding with tension.
Although in his previous life, he had practiced martial arts for a few years and could handle a couple of thugs, in this life, he had been very focused on physical training from a young age and was almost unmatched by his peers.
However, he was only eleven years old, and his physical strength was no match for these robbers.
As the saying goes, "Talking about combat without considering physical strength is just being a hooligan!"
Moreover, these robbers all had guns.
"Demonic Overlord Jerry, are those your demons?"
Elsa, hiding behind Jerry, poked her head out, a bit scared.
"Girl, you're really brave!"
Without a word, Jerry pushed Elsa's head back down.
"Looks like we can't count on the police. We have to rely on ourselves!"
Hearing the police sirens growing fainter and more distant, Jerry sighed, then his eyes narrowed, and a virtual panel appeared before him.
