Chapter 1: Felix Hepworth
Chapter 1: Felix Hepworth
July 1992, London.
Inside the West End Business Center, a bustling hive of activity, trained white-collar workers were busy at their desks, the hum of conversation and the clatter of keyboards filling the air. In a small, makeshift conference room, a serious conversation was taking place.
"Felix, are you really sure about this? Although you've only been with the company for less than a year, I can swear that your talent has been recognized by everyone here. If you stay, I believe you'll have a great future!" a middle-aged Englishman said, his neatly styled curly hair and tailored business suit giving him a polished appearance.
Sitting across from him was a young man in his early twenties, with strikingly light blue eyes and a handsome face. Felix smiled, "Boss, I've made up my mind."
The middle-aged man stared intently at Felix for a moment, then, seeing that he was resolute, sighed in resignation. "Alright, you win."
Felix smiled warmly, stood up, and picked up his suit from the back of the chair. He shook hands with the middle-aged man, who stepped forward and embraced him tightly. "To each their own, right? I think we're losing a promising newcomer."
Felix blinked his light blue eyes. "We'll always meet better people."
Half an hour later, Felix had packed his things and left the building. As he stepped outside, he looked at the bustling street, his heart filled with anticipation.
...
Felix carried a small suitcase and walked down the street, occasionally stopping to avoid passing vehicles. He took an interested look at the makes and models of the cars.
"Vintage cars, huh?"
His steps were light, and the long walk did not tire him; instead, it filled him with enthusiasm.
After nearly an hour, he finally arrived at his temporary residence in the city, or rather, his home.
The surroundings grew more familiar, and Felix greeted more than a few acquaintances. "Good afternoon, Mrs. Murphy."
"Good afternoon, Mr. Hepworth."
After exchanging pleasantries with a few familiar faces, Felix finally stood before his front door.
He fished out his keys and unlocked the door, stepping inside and closing it behind him.
"Ah!" Felix let out a joyful exclamation, closed his eyes, and spread his arms wide. In that moment, the ordinary room seemed to come alive.
His suitcase floated from his hand and glided to the wardrobe, where the door opened automatically. The dozen or so clothes hanging on the upper rack shifted slightly to make room for the suitcase.
Felix's suit and white shirt undid themselves, and his tie wriggled free from his neck, hanging itself on the wardrobe rod alongside three other colorful ties.
The belt around his waist loosened, and as he took a step forward, his trousers slipped off easily. Felix snapped his fingers, and a blue silk robe flew out, wrapping itself around him and fastening snugly.
Felix snapped his fingers again, and gentle music filled the air. With his eyes still closed, he moved his hands as if conducting an orchestra, and the kitchen began to clatter. A moment later, a steaming cup of rich coffee floated in front of him.
He picked up the cup and sipped the coffee to the tune of the music, a look of deep satisfaction on his face.
...
Felix Hepworth was not just a newly resigned free agent; he was also an adult Wizard.
He had graduated from Hogwarts, the best and only magic school in Britain.
Ten years had passed since Felix received the letter with the ornate crest from the Orphanage. During this time, not only did he graduate from Hogwarts, but he also transformed from a boy into a 21-year-old man.
"Time really flies. I've been out of school for three years already", Felix mused, sitting on the sofa.
He then muttered in a slightly dejected tone, "And it's been 21 years since I crossed over."
Indeed, besides being a freelance professional and a hidden Wizard, Felix had the deepest secret of all: he was a transmigrant.
Who would have thought that the meticulously planned trajectory of his life would be thrown into chaos when he received the invitation to the magical world? He was both astonished and thrilled!
The world of Harry Potter!
The magical adventures of the Golden Trio!
Unfortunately, they were from entirely different generations.
When he first entered Hogwarts and naively inquired about Harry Potter, he discovered that he was nine years older. This meant that from the moment he started school until he graduated, he never even saw Harry.
Felix had to admit that he wasn't a "Potterhead" and only had a basic understanding of the plot.
A basic, half-understood understanding.
After all, he couldn't predict the future and didn't know he would end up in the real magical world. If he had known, he would have memorized every detail!
It was only through the rise of short video platforms, like a certain app, that he managed to piece together a vague storyline.
But remembering the details? That was pure fantasy.
Fortunately, what truly captivated him was the magical world itself, a living, tangible place. And he had found it.
Evening.
Felix sat at his desk, quietly flipping through a magical book, a cup of hot tea by his side.
The ticking of the clock made his heart restless, disrupting his usual calm.
He was waiting for a letter.
A crucial letter!
Time ticked by, and finally—there came a soft "tap-tap" from outside the window. An owl landed silently, gently tapping on the glass.
"Finally!" Felix's heart raced. He drew his wand and waved it, and the window opened automatically, allowing the owl to fly in.
The owl circled his head twice, dropped an envelope, and then perched on the desk, preening its feathers.
Felix quickly picked up the envelope. On the back, there was a wax seal with a shield crest, featuring a large "H" surrounded by an eagle, a lion, a badger, and a snake.
He opened the envelope and pulled out the letter, which read:
Dear Mr. Felix Hepworth,
We are pleased to inform you that your application for the Muggle Studies position has been accepted. Your interview will take place on July 21 at 10:00 AM. Please prepare accordingly.

Deputy Headmistress Minerva Mcgonagall
Felix couldn't help but punch the air in excitement and drained the steaming cup of tea on the desk in one go!
