Chameleon: My True Face 46 Adventurous

"Dear? Are you there?" Seeing the hologram showed the image of their daughter apartment, the caring voice of a mother was transmitted across the globe. But unfortunately, nothing followed after that and no one answered her.

Guan Dong waved with his hand, signalling the camera to move to the sides but they still didn't notice anyone there. Dongmei was nowhere to be seen.

"Maybe she is taking a shower?" The mature lady called out worriedly, trying to find a reason for that, but her husband quickly overthrown it, saying with a frown, "No, the watch is waterproof and I told her to never take it down, even in the shower. Something must have happened…"

Guan Dong didn't hesitate and quickly picked out a phone, dialling to Dongmei's guards as soon as he could, anxiousness clearly visible on his face. He was the person who always thought of the worst possible outcome as the most probable so that he could prepare for the worst and prevent it.

Right now, in his mind, his sweet little daughter was kidnapped and he had to save her. Even his wife knew that it was definitely possible, knowing their status in this world, so she didn't say anything, letting her husband find out. She knew he wouldn't waste time in these matters.

The moment, the guards outside of Dongmei's apartment heard the familiar ringtone they set for their employer, their faces paled, but they didn't hesitate to take the phone and pick up the call.

What they heard right away was a domineering cry of a protective father, asking one question, "Where is my daughter!?"

The guards we clearly scared, hearing the angry tone of their boss' voice and quickly replied, stuttering at the start, "S-sir… Miss is staying in her apartment right now…"

"What do you mean she is in the apartment! Go and check! She is not there!" Guan Dong shouted from the other side of the call, alerting the guards momentarily. They were standing in front of their miss apartment the whole time, there was no way she would sneak away.

Knock, knock, knock!

They quickly knocked hard on the doors calling out to their miss, "Miss, are you there?!" Hearing no response, their faced paled even more and they quickly pulled out their spare keys to the doors which they were given by their boss, entering the living room in a hurry.

The guards checked each room but didn't find Dongmei anywhere which almost made their souls jump out of their bodies. One of them even muttered under his breath in disbelief, "She is not here…"

"Of course she is not fucking here! I have eyes!" The angry voice of their boss spread loudly through the room from the watch and Guan Dong questioned them without wasting time, "How long ago have you seen her?!"

"Boss… It was about thirty-five minutes ago since Miss returned to her apartment and she didn't leave it since." The guard quickly replied, seeing how badly they might have fucked up.

"Was anyone else in her room? Did she meet anyone today? Did she have contact with anyone new recently?" Guan Dong asked three quick questions, which basically meant the same, but the couldn't point that out to their boss.

"Actually, there is something that Boss needs to know…" Knowing they couldn't hide it anymore, they briefly told the truth about Wuxing, who appeared out of nowhere in their Miss' life.

"...Miss is very friendly to him at the moment and even allows him to sleep in her apartment but we doubt he did anything with Miss. It should also be him who is with Miss right now and they probably sneaked out through the balcony to wander around without us… We will find them as soon as possible." The guard explained their thoughts, hoping they will be forgiven.

"Why didn't you inform me about that earlier?" Guan Dong replied coldly after listening to the whole story, his anger partially calmed down.

"Miss said she will cut off our… 'friends down there' if we say anything about it… We already planned to inform Boss before anything serious happens between them." The guards didn't hide anything, even confessing about Dongmei's threats, to which Guan Dong could only roll his eyes and blame his wife, "See how you taught your daughter? She is even threatening her guards now. Like mother like daughter. Sigh…"

This time, the Dongmei's mother didn't bash at her husband because there were other people present, but in her mind, she already thought of a punishment she will give him afterwards. She knew she couldn't undermind authority in public, but when home alone, she wouldn't let anyone step on her.

Glaring at him behind the watch camera, she asked sweetly, "How about you finally find her using her position? Did you forget about the chip in her body?" Even if she was mad, she could pretend just for a little more.

"Right, how could I forget about it! I think it should be still active. It has been many years since the last time we used it." Guan Dong knew he fucked up again but didn't show any reaction on his face, quickly reaching out to his watch settings.

Changing the image on the watch with a horizontal wave of his hand, a map appeared on the screen and surprisingly it was the map of the Badu Island. There was a small dot in the middle of the island, showing that she was still there. As he zoomed in, they saw that the dot was slowly moving which could confirm what the guards were saying earlier.

Dongmei sneaked out with her new 'friend' to wander around the island, but that didn't calm them as parents at all, but actually made them even more worried. If there was someone Dongmei care this much, even leaving her watch behind which they forbid from taking off, it could bring certain troubles for them.

"Find her! She is still on the island, walking outside the prison area. I will be sending you the map with her location. I give you one hour and I want her to call me. If you don't find her in one hour, we will talk differently, you hear me?" Guan Dong commanded, ending the call without waiting for their response.

"What if she fell in love with this man? Maybe we shouldn't interfere with her relationship? She has her own mind. It would be best if she married out of love, not because we asked her to." The caring mother asked, moving her husband punishment to the side for a moment while placing her daughter's happiness in the first place.

"What do you mean? Don't joke around. How can she fall in love with someone just one day after she met someone?" Guan Dong rolled his eyes at his wife, but he only got hit in the shoulder as she refreshed his memory, "Do you remember how you fell in love with me the very first day we met? You were courting me for the whole year after that."

"Cough, we can still investigate, right? We can't let someone bad to marry our only daughter. He was a prisoner and she pulled him out of it, claiming he was innocent. We need to check everything first before we can even allow him to meet with her." Guan Dong coughed before beginning to convince her to his methods.

"Give them some space for now. We can investigate now and stop it if he is really a bad person." Dongmei's mother quickly decided, glancing sternly at his husband. She wasn't swayed by his words and Guan Dong could only sigh, messaging the guards to leave them alone for a moment, but call them when they come back.

"If people learn that our daughter is marrying an ex-prisoner, it will also look bad on us. Even though he might be innocent, it won't stop our competitors from attacking our family." Guan Dong realised, thinking of the worst case scenario once again, but his wife scolded him, "You and your thinking. Don't you want your daughter to be happy? I don't care if the whole company is burned as long as she can live a happy life. Don't forget the reason we are working so hard. I won't let anything happen to her but as long as she is happy, she can do whatever she wants."

"Fine." Guan Dong agreed, recalling his priority and after kissing his wife, he called out towards the doors of the bedroom, "Shadow, come here!"

A muscular man wearing all black outfit and a black cloth on his face entered into the room, right after the call and asked coldly, "Yes, Sir?" He stared at Guan Dong with his brown eyes, the only thing that wasn't covered by the cloth and waited without blinking.

"Check one person for me. His name is Li Wuxing, a member of Seven Stars Special Forces. I want to know everything about him. When I say everything, I mean EVERYTHING. About his family, his achievements, his past relationships, everything. You have one hour." Guan Dong commanded and the man called Shadow didn't waste time, leaving after nodding as a form of acknowledgement.

With Shadow gone, Dongmei's mother muttered quietly as she laid down on Guan Dong chest, "I hope she finally found love for herself…"

"Wuxing, what if my Parents call me on my watch and see that I'm not in the apartment? They will definitely investigate and find out about us…" Dongmei asked as she gripped Wuxing's hand tighter, still a bit anxious about leaving her watch behind.

"Heh," Wuxing smirked as he pulled her into his arms, asking playfully, "Are you ashamed of your boyfriend? Is that title only for show? We should better go back to being friends then."

They were in the middle of the small jungle forest but still found the time and play to tease each other. Dongmei wore a pair of tight jeans, a white cotton t-shirt with a flower design and a pair of comfy sneakers. The jeans looked really tight, underscoring her firm bottom, which Wuxing couldn't help but grab each time they hugged. Dongmei got already used to it as the time went on so she didn't complain.

Dongmei hit him on the chest for spitting out nonsense and explained her worries, "No! Dummy, I'm serious here. We were gone for almost forty minutes. What if my guards realise we are gone and call them? They might freak out and call an army to search for me…"

"An army? Who is your father? The army general?" Wuxing asked surprised, hoping to get some info from her. He still had no information about her background, only knowing it was powerful.

"When I was about ten years old, I got separated from my parents when we were having fun at the biggest amusement park in the world and my father literally gather an army of soldiers, blocking all the exits before searching for me with hundreds of guards, paralyzing the whole park. Since then they never lost me again, always keeping an eye on me." Dongmei narrated the story, thinking it was really silly.

As a reply, Wuxing leaned over of stole a kiss from her lips, distracting her from her worries, before explaining what she might have missed, "Dongmei, can you forget about everything for now? If it's the way you say, then we are probably busted already. Even without the watch with you, they can probably check your location right now."

"What?" Dongmei asked surprised, now knowing what he was talking about, but then thought about it and realised, "You mean I can have a localization chip inside of my body?"

"Bingo. Show me your hands." Wuxing nodded, satisfied with how quickly she realised and grabbed both of her hands, checking the space between her thumb and forefinger. Just as he expected, he felt a small object in her right hand, confirming his thoughts.

"I had an operation on my right hand because I got injured when I was twelve. To think they put a chip in there without telling me…" Dongmei felt the hand herself, finding it hard to believe, but knowing her father's protective nature, she knew it was possible.

Smiling at her, he teased her by rubbing their noses together and asked warmly, "Can you relax with me now? Show me how adventurous Guan Dongmei can be. Nothing will happen if you disappear for a while. They still know where you are at all times so they shouldn't worry too much."

Dongmei looked at him with a smile, showing the signs of being convinced, so Wuxing added after kissing her deeply, "And if your parents find out about me, we can face it together, okay?"

"Mhmm…" Instead of answering she kissed him as a reply, wrapping her arms around his neck and her legs around his waist. With Wuxing supporting her by her bottom, they kissed passionately with their tongues dancing around with each other, forgetting that they were in the middle of the jungle.

Just as Dongmei started it, she suddenly pulled away from him, jumping down on the ground, before she grabbed his hand and started pulling him, calling out with a playful laugh, "Hehe, let me show you how adventurous I can be."
