"Really?" Dongmei smiled hearing his reply, asking to confirm if she heard correctly. For her, it was like a testimony that he cared for her if he is able to kill in revenge for someone slandering her.

"If Miss Guan wishes for that then I can't disagree. That's the least I can do to repay you for your help. Anyway, I also don't like being gossiped about, so I don't mind killing," Wuxing bowed lightly like a knight serving princess and gave her a warm smiled, which she easily took as him teasing her.

She wanted to continue banter with him but they were still under everyone's eyes. Snickering to herself, she turned around on her heel and continued walking forward, entering soon to the staff building. They didn't have problems navigating through the building and quickly found Chief Warden office.

Dongmei opened the doors without knocking and blocked her guard way, saying "Stay behind, we will enter alone." She didn't want him to know what lengths did she go for Wuxing.

"Miss Guan! Do you feel better now?" Chief Warden called out as he looked up from his papers, not angry at all that she entered without knocking. Only she had such privilege in this prison. Only then did he notice Wuxing entering after her, but Wuxing only got a nod from him.

"Yes, thank you. I have a favour I would like to ask from you," Dongmei didn't beat around the bush and went straight to the point, stating the cause of their visit.

"Of course, anything I can do, I will try to help," Knowing that she only came to his office if there was something important, he dropped everything, being all ears for her.

Dongmei pointed at Wuxing's ankle and said with a smile, "Great. I want to take off Wuxing's ankle bracelet. He doesn't need it anymore as he is with me." She was sure that her request would be granted, but then she saw Chief Warden unsightly expression.

Dongmei quickly frowned, asking confused, "Is there a problem?" It wasn't that big of a deal for her.

"Miss, if you wanted anything other than that, I would grant it to you, but the thing you are asking for is not something I can do," The Chief Warden delicately declined as he rubbed his forehead, knowing that Dongmei wouldn't take it lightly.

Just as he thought, Dongmei glared at him and hit the table with both of her hand, raising her voice, "What do you mean— you can't?"

"Miss, once the ankle bracelet is locked, the moment it's unlocked or broken, the headquarters will be informed about it and they will definitely question me about it. They will learn that Mr Li is not following the prison protocol as a legitimate prisoner and I will probably take the blame for that... Miss, let's be reasonable…" Chief Warden tried to explain but Dongmei continued to glare at him, not getting his perspective.

"Yeah, I am unreasonable. That's why I don't care about headquarters. I can call my father to explain that it was my request and they won't be able to do anything." Dongmei shrugged, already knowing who she was before adding, "I will take the responsibility for this."

"Miss, even if you call your father, I don't think he will be satisfied with the current turns of events…" Chief Warden knew she was only bluffing with calling her father so he only smiled bitterly, reminding her gently about her current situation. She was living with another man in her apartment which would definitely not be cool for her father.

"Huh?" Hearing him, Dongmei glanced at Wuxing and realised the Chief Warden already knew she was trying to deceive him. He was right, she couldn't use her father influence in this situation.

'Unless…' As she looked at Wuxing, Dongmei suddenly thought of an idea. Maybe she couldn't use her father influence, but she could at least pretend that she can.

As she thought of the action plan, Wuxing spoke up, acting as if they were on formal terms with each other, "Miss, If it is not possible, I will try to live with that for a little while longer. It's the thought that counts."

She didn't like Wuxing's formal way of calling her which put him on the same level as others and decided to implement her plan right away. She approached Wuxing and pulled his shirt, forcing him to lean over. It was then that their lips connected into a kiss.

The Chief Warden was shocked right away to the point that he stood up, watching them closely and even Wuxing was surprised, but he quickly realised what she tried to do. He grabbed her around the waist and embraced her tightly, engaging with her in a hot kiss.

It was taking them so long that Chief Warden started getting anxious but after one minute they finally ended their kiss and Dongmei turned her head to him, asking while still being hugged by Wuxing, "Does Chief Warden think that my father would like my boyfriend being locked up like this?"

Seeing Chief Warder shocked expression, Dongmei smiled smugly and leaned with her back on Wuxing's chest and hugged herself with his arms. She knew the Chief Warden won't gossip around so she could use this method.

"Miss… How did you two…?" Chief Warden tried to understand it but didn't know how come it happened so fast under his watch.

If Dongmei's father blamed him for that, he would be doomed. Now that he thought about it, he regretted even letting Wuxing into the mines. He knew that something bad would happen involving him, but never in his dreams, he imagined such a scenario.

He knew that Miss Guan would never let anyone touch her if they were not close to her. The way she acted was as if she was very comfortable in Wuxing's arms which she would have a hard time faking.

Ignoring his question Dongmei continued, "I already have plans on telling my father about him, so you don't need to worry. It can happen later when we are ready, or now. But if you force me to contact father today, I won't be nice while describing this issue."

"I understand. I will free his bracelet. Miss doesn't need to contact Mr Guan over something so trivial," Chief Warden had no other choice but to agree to her request. The situation escalated too quickly without him even noticing it which was his fault and now he had to pay the price for it.

The Chief Warden pulled out a phone and called the one responsible for ankle bracelets. He only needed to tell the staff Wuxing's prisoner number and it didn't take long before the bracelet clicked and opened by itself, dropping to the ground.

"It's done. I hope that Miss will intercede if someone comes to investigate—" Just as he received the bracelet from Wuxing, his cellphone once again called and the number showing was unknown.

"They are fast. I told you Miss that I will have problems because of that…" Chief Warden sighed after seeing the caller and decided to take it.

Before he did so, Dongmei called out, "Put it on speaker. I will provide assistance." It was the least she could do to help after he fulfiled her request.

Chief Warden nodded and picked up the phone before placing it on the table while putting it on speaker, saying right after, "Chief Warden from Badu Island Prison on the phone."

"Good afternoon. We call to confirm the unauthorized opening of navigation bracelet. What was the reason for such action?" The mechanical voice went straight to the point, questioning Chief Warden about the situation.

"There was a need to take off the bracelet as the prisoner got hurt in the accident and the bracelet hinders with the operation." Chief Warden didn't hesitate to lie about the situation, knowing he needed a good reason.

"Copied that. The prisoner was set for high survivance option, so close the ankle bracelet after the operation is over. This person is not allowed to—" the mechanical voice ordered quickly deciding. Just as it was about to continue, Dongmei picked up the phone and called out coldly, "Hey you! Are you going to talk to us normally or continue to speak behind that robotic voice? My name is Guan Dongmei, I'm the only daughter of Guan Dong. Do you dare to ignore me?"

Right after Dongmei cry, the person on the other side turned off the voice modulator and coughed with a gentle male voice, saying apologetically, "Miss Guan, I wasn't aware of Miss presence. How can I help you?"

The Chief Warden knew there would be a strong reaction from headquarters if they knew they were talking with Dongmei but he didn't expect it to be this fast. Each time they contacted him, there was only a robotic voice on the other side, so one could clearly see the difference in treatment here.

"I was the one who ordered the takedown of the bracelet. Do you have a problem with that?" Dongmei asked sharply, showing her frustration. They knew about Guan Dongmei working in this particular prison as a doctor so they had to be careful with how they handled things there.

"Of course not… How long will the operation last?" The man quickly denied and tried to understand the situation in more detail but Dongmei said decisively, "The wounds are on both legs which prevent the prisoner from having an ankle for some time. I would say one month would be the best number of days. If you have a problem with my judgement, call my father and ask him if you can trust me."

Without waiting for the man to reply, she ended the call before throwing the phone at confused Chief Warden, saying confidently, "I took care of it." Wuxing who stood silent this whole time found her acting very amusing which kept putting a smile on his face.

With her job done, she returned into Wuxing's embrace and muttered sweetly while snuggling into her chest, "I hope one month is enough to get you out of here."

"Mhmm, I think it will be enough," Wuxing confirmed while kissing her on the head and embracing tightly.

Watching them like that, Chief Warden finally believed that they were not joking at all. Sighing in relief that he didn't need to take the blame for that request, he sat back down on his chair. He didn't think there was more that could shock him today but then Dongmei added after recalling the earlier gossips, "Before we go. I will be killing a person today, so I hope someone can take care of one body for me."
