"Wuxing! Don—" Dongmei immediately tried to chide him, knowing that it wasn't the right time to play around, but Wuxing thought the opposite and did exactly that, kissing her before she could scold him.

Hiding behind the door, she opened it a bit while sticking her head out, so no one could see her in the nightgown like this. It turned out that the person knocking was the Chief Warden.

"Good Morning, Miss Guan." The Chief Warden bowed and greeted her, followed by the greetings of the two guards. At night, they were having two shifts to protect her, but during the day, they usually stayed together.

"What do you want? It is still early in the morning…" Dongmei called out unhappily while rubbing her eyes, pretending to be drowsy from just waking up.

"It's already noon, Miss." One of the guards corrected her but that cost him a glare from her, which sent shivers down his spine.

"When I say it is early in the morning, then it is early in the morning. Got it?" Dongmei called out sharply to her guard, acting grumpy from waking up from being woken up.

"Yes, Miss…" The guard couldn't do anything else other than lowering his head and accepting it.

"Cough, Miss Guan, is Li Wuxing up? I have some news for him…" Chief Warden interrupted them with a cough and asked a question as he looked through the gap Dongmei created, checking if he can see Wuxing there.

"He is currently sleeping. I can pass him the message when he wakes up, or do you want me to wake him up now?" Dongmei said and pretended to yawn while covering her face.

"No, no. There is no need to wake up. I can just pass the message to Miss. Can I come in?" Chief Warden asked, thinking it would be weird to talk like that through a small gap in the doors.

"Well, there is a reason why I am talking like this. It's obvious that I just woke up and I'm in my nightgown right now—" Dongmei glanced suspiciously at the Chief Warden, explaining herself calmly when suddenly her eyes opened wide and her speech was cut.

Chief Warden noticed that something happened and asked, "Is everything okay?"

Dongmei cheeks flushed red as she assured them with her voice somehow cutting in the middle, "Yes, I'm fine. You can just tell me… Like this. Don't worry about it."

"Okay… I just wanted to tell Li Wuxing that the lawyer he and miss asked for will arrive in the next ship to the island. If Li Wuxing is innocent, then that lawyer will definitely free him. It's my old friend and we can trust him." Chief Warden passed the news, still thinking that Miss Guan was acting weird.

Her face was randomly turning red while her mouth and eyes were opening wide as if something was happening to her behind the doors. Obviously, he couldn't just force his entry and check as he still had some years he wanted to live.

"Okay… I will pass him the news…" Dongmei nodded, accepting the news as if nothing happened, but one could clearly see there was something going on.

The guards also noticed that there was something wrong and asked, "Miss, are you really okay? Your face looks kind of red… Maybe it is a fever?"

While there were talking, Wuxing wasn't laying on the sofa anymore. He sneaked up behind Dongmei and from the start of their conversation, he was teasing her by rubbing and kneading her butt without restrains.
