Chapter 29: Settling in.
On the way to her room, a lot of curious glances were coming her way. Allison wanted to ask something but the poker face that Matthew had on stopped her from saying anything. As a result, the long walk to her room was very quiet. At last, Matthew stopped in front of a door and faced her.
"This will be your room from now on. You will be sharing it with two other girls. Your schedule will be delivered to you later in the day. Stay out of trouble. I'll be leaving now".

Allison held his arm and Matthew's eyes widened in surprise. 'Where does she get such courage?'

"Matthew, right? If I'm looking for you, where would I find you?"

"You heard what Agent Walters said. If you need something, go look for him directly. Also, I was asked to escort you here not watch over yo all the time".

"What?!"

"You heard me, Matt. You are to keep an eye on the girl and report back to me. Why do you look so shocked? Is it difficult?", Alex asked.

"But why me? There are others out there. My job is to assist you" Matthew said. He had just returned from a mission back to his master's side and now that same master was sending him to watch over a girl. Was she that special?

"I don't know how you feel, Matt but believe it or not you're the best person or this job. You're very good at spying on others. I'm not telling you to talk to her or meet her. Just follow her from afar. Think of this as a very important mission from your superior. I would have liked to this myself but as you can see, I'm very busy. So do you want to do it or should I find someone else?"

"No, sir. I will execute this mission with the best of my ability".

"That's the spirit. I assure you that this mission will your most exciting one yet".

The room that Allison was currently in was well furnished and decorated. It was even large enough for four people. It was spacious and had three beds in its corners and a large wardrobe in one side. Two beds of the three was already claimed and the owners had made sure to mark out their territory. Allison immediately knew that the middle unclaimed bed was hers. She was still in the middle of scanning her surroundings when a high spirited girl with freckles and straight black hair in bangs walked in.
"OMG! You're the new girl?"

Allison walked over to her and stretched out her hand for a handshake "Yes, I am. My name is Allison Harper".
But the girl was didn't shake it. "No need for formalities among friends girl! Mine is Eleanor. But just call me Helen. I'll call you Allie. Is that okay with you, Allie?"

Allison smiled. "You're already calling me that. Where's the other roommate?"

"Forget about that girl. She's like a queen bee around here so, you won't be seeing her often".

"Okay" Truth be told, she was confused. "Is there like, um, a system around here or something?"

"It's among the kids, the adults don't really know about this. In here, we are divided into three groups. Those who were born and raised here, those who are children of law-abiding citizens but got killed and lastly your group, children of terrorists".

"But don't we all go through the same training? Aren't we meant to be fighting as one group?"

"That isn't how it works, girl! It wasn't like this in the beginning but the groups don't interact unless necessary and the adults here don't realize it cause it's very subtle. The first and second group are close but the last group are treated as outcasts".

"So which group are you in?"

"I'm in the first group. But don't misunderstand me. I'm friends with everyone and I hate discrimination". She paused for a moment and held Allison's face. "In fact who dares to discriminate against you? You have such a beautiful face. They won't have the heart to do so, except the girls, of course".

At her comment, they both started laughing. The door swung open and silence reigned as the third roommate waltzed in."Who the hell are you?"

I am extremely sorry for the late updates. This is my first book so any criticism is welcome although I hope there is none. Like Matthew, I am doing this with the best of my ability -.-
