CHAPTER 17: An Explanation

Chapter 17: An Explanation.
"WE MUST SEE THE KING!"
The people of Nemorosa had decided to surround the castle. They knew very well that the guards had no power over them because with all of them and with each of their abilities, the guards stand no chance.

"Bring the king out before we barge in!"

"We need explanations".

"Why is everyone saying the princess is about to die?"

"Where is princess Areida?"

"Why haven't we seen her for two years?"

"Yeah, what's going on?"

"We need answers!"
As everyone was throwing questions here and there, the king stepped out.

"Your Majesty!", they all shouted at once. Then they lowered their heads slightly as a form of respect.

"People of Nemorosa, I understand and I know why you're all here. I will explain everything. But before I begin, warlocks please make everyone
comfortable. This is going to be a long story".

Once everyone was settled, he began.
"Let me start from the very beginning. 16yrs ago, my wife; your queen, gave birth to my daughter Claressa. She was blessed with all our abilities.14yrs later, our next daughter was born, Areida. But unfortunately, she was born a human".

There were gasps across the crowd.
"To keep her safe, we didn't announce this news. We had a theory that since Claressa was born with all, the abilities, Areida didn't have the chance to get any. But it's only a theory. Let me continue with the story. These past few days, a few events has been happening. A week ago, Areida was kidnapped".

There was another round of gasps across the crowd.
"As I didn't want my wife and daughter to get worried, I used my magic to put my wife to sleep and sent my daughter out to enjoy herself. As luck would have it, she found her sister dead in the territory of Moonhaven. Because of that, she went berserk, had her first shift and wiped out an entire village of Moonhaven. As a result, the king of Moonhaven came here".

The people were conflicted. They didn't know whether they should happy that their princess finally had her first shift or whether they should be sad that she killed people. There was silence for a moment and when the king saw that no one wanted to say anything, he continued.
"And now, he wants her dead because she killed his people. Right now, the council is at a loss of what to do. He wants my answer by the end of this week".

By now, the people were already angry.
"How dare he ask for our princess?"

"Is he crazy?"

"He started it first".

"Is he mad?"

"...."

People were throwing insults. That was, until an elderly woman stepped forward.
"Your Majesty, what are we to do now? Concerning Areida's burial and Claressa's execution".

"I promise you all that Areida's burial will be witness by everyone in this kingdom. I will perform my duty both as a king and a father. What you
can do is to be prepared for anything right now".
With these words, he went back in.
Prepared for what?
Only the smart ones knew what was happening. There was likely to be a war outbreak.
