Beyond Time, Living in Sengoku
Chapter 2: Prologue
"Oda Nobunaga was from the country of Owari, the present day Aichi Prefecture. It was divided into eight districts, and his father Oda Nobuhide was one of the three elders, in charge of four districts. Nobunaga was the oldest son, but to be clear, he wasn’t from the family of a daimyou, rather from low-ranking country samurai."
The one talking so excitedly was my high school teacher.
Behind his round glasses his eyes were open wide, and he gesticulated while giving his lecture.
This teacher, who wore a suit and a was a graduate of the University of Tokyo, must dislike Nobunaga.
Even without being very familiar with history, I would see see Nobunaga as a bad guy.
His fervent speech is really something else.
For instance, because of Nobunaga's low status, violence, or the like, the teacher's prejudiced ideology toward the strong is heartily expressed in each word.
Even at 18 years of age, people have the ability to observe humans to that extent.
When the chime rang, the teacher spread his hands on his desk and glanced at me as I sat at the window seat.
He must be dissatisfied with me, who was listening to the class with elbows on her desk and chin in her palms.
I turned to look out of the window, ignoring him.
From the view of the schoolyard, the row of cherry trees spreading out on the riverbed spread until it was out of view. The spring sunlight was soft.
(Warm…) I closed my eyes.
I heard the voice of a close friend.
She walked up to me and called his name.
(It's Chika.)
It was the voice of Chika, who lived in the same neighborhood as me since childhood.
At the same time, Koichi's voice was heard.
The voice of Haruka who was speaking to Koichi approached as well.
As the three of them put their hands on my desk, I fell into a comfortable sleep.
"Aoi."
A familiar voice called me.
