"Congratulations, princess! I saw in the news that your team caught the 'Family killer' suspect!"

Ren Shiyuan's lively voice was heard from the other line and it made Nian Jiezhen unconsciously smile. "Thank you."

"Are you at home? Can I come and visit you now?"

Nian Jiezhen sat up and looked at her wall clock. "It's already late at night."

"So what? Don't tell me that it's dangerous for a woman like me to go out in the night." He chuckled lightly.

She hugged her pillow. She didn't see him for days and she couldn't help but miss him a bit.

After the call ended. Nian Jiezhen got off her bed and went to take a shower. She then went to wear one of her simple nightdresses with an apple print in the middle. Her hair was tied into a messy bun.

She went to the kitchen to prepare some plates and other utensils.

Not long, her doorbell rang.

She went and opened the door only to see Ren Shiyuan in his male casual clothes. He was holding a plastic bag with canned beers inside and in his other hand was the box of pizza with the takeout box of pasta on top.

He beamed upon seeing her. "I felt like it has been so long since we last saw each other."

Nian Jiezhen rolled her eyes. "It was just for a week." Although she actually felt the same way, she was not going to admit that to him.

She took the pizza box and the pasta box from him before she walked to the living room.

Ren Shiyuan locked the door behind him and went to follow Nian Jiezhen.

She placed the boxes on the coffee table and opened them. Her stomach grumbled at the delicious scent of the food. She took a piece of pizza and started eating it.

Ren Shiyuan sat beside her and placed their drinks on the table. "So, how did your case went?"

Nian Jiezhen pouted, "I don't want to talk about it. I've been taking care of that for days and all I want right now is to rest my mind from it."

He patted her head. "Fine, let's not talk about it then." He turned on the TV and decided to choose a movie to watch.

"Do you want to watch Fifty Shades, to set up the mood?" Ren Shiyuan offered with a playful smile on his lips.

Nian Jiezhen furrowed her brows. "You just got here and yet you're already asking me to kick you out."

"I'm just joking." He laughed lightly. "How about a horror movie?"

Nian Jiezhen raised an amused brow at him, "If you think that I'm going to cuddle you because of something like that then think again."

"You're not scared of watching one?"

"I've dealt with things scarier than those movies." She continued to eat her food.

"Well then, let's watch one." He grinned at her. He chose a horror movie to watch before he took a canned beer and opened it.

"Say, princess, did you missed me?" He asked while the movie was not starting yet.

"Why would I?"

He pouted, "Guess I'm only the one who missed you.."

He actually tried his best not to disturb her at work. He fought the urge to by to send her messages or give her a call since he didn't want her to be distracted because of him.

Nian Jiezhen pursed her lips. She looked away and focused her gaze on the food. "Well... only a little..." She mumbled. "I missed you a bit."

Ren Shiyuan was just acting out, wanting to tease her a bit but when he saw her adorable reaction, he ended up hugging her. "Of course, I know you do."

Nian Jiezhen didn't try to struggle away from his hug, in fact, she just stayed still and allowed him to do so. A faint blush was seen on her cheeks.

She tried to distract herself by eating the piece of pizza she was holding but Ren Shiyuan ended up leaning and taking a bite from it.

"Mm, they said that food will taste more delicious if it is fed to you by someone you like. It looks like it's true." He grinned at her.

Nian Jiezhen heaved out a heavy sigh because of his remark. "Can you at least let me eat in peace?"
