"Hmm?"

"Let's get together . For real . You and me, a committed relationship . "

Kai Xin looked at him, her face filled with disbelief . She frowned and proceed to check his temperature, "I cannot feel the fever . Should we go to the doctor?"

"Kara…" DX groaned as the little minx wiggled around her . .

Kai Xin sighed as she quiet down and drew circles on his chest using her finger , "DX, you are not supposed to fall in love with me . "

"I know . "

"That was not the agreement . " She sighed .

He picked up a lock of her hair and twirled it around his finger as he mumbled, "I know . "

"Then why?"

"I did not plan to . It just happened . "

"DX, I don't want to hurt you . You should know better than anyone . " Kai Xin pushed herself off his lap . She went to the room to grab another t-shirt and DX followed behind her, not willing for this to be the end of the conversation .

After she put the shirt on, DX hugged her from behind and whispered "I want to give us a try . "

Kai Xin gave it a thought as she leaned back against him . She entered into this relationship with DX previously because she thought that someone like him would prefer a less complicated, straightforward kind of relationship . What has changed? She really likes him . He's kind, generous, a good listener and damn! Does he performs well in bed!

She frowned as she thought of the "What ifs" . What if everything breaks down? What if she lost him forever because of a momentary lapse of judgment?

"Kara?"

Kai Xin looked up at the middle aged man behind her . At 40 years old, he is still shameless enough to pout and showed her the puppy dog eyes as he pleaded for an answer . He looked so pitiful now that Kai Xin cannot help but blurted out a laughter .

"Don't look at me like that . It does not fit your image, President Du . " Kai Xin laughed and she pushed him onto the bed before straddling him .

"I have to think about this . "

DX wrestled her and flipped her onto her back before wrapping her up with the blanket, "You are not getting out of here if you don't give me an answer . " He then straddled and lean over her as he tried to show her a threatening face .

"Kara, it has been almost 4 years . My business is stable now and there's not much that can affect my standing . The boys are getting older and I intend to slow down for now to spend more time with them and you . Once I come back from Japan, I'd be staying mostly within the country . " He pout and nudged her with his nose .

Kai Xin gazed at his childlike demeanor . After a while, she gave in, defeated by this man that has been in her life for the past 4 years, "3 months . We will give it a try . Regardless of how it ends, we will go our separate ways . "

DX was smiling until he heard the last sentence . His smile froze for a second before it drops, "Separate ways?"

"DX, if things don't work out, do you seriously think that we can still remain friends? Even one that is purely on a contractual basis?"

DX knew she was right . If they were to enter into a committed relationship, it would be hard for at least one of them to break off cleanly . They would never be able to return to this again . Even then, DX looked at her seriously, "As long as you promise to take this seriously, then I am willing to take this chance . "

He thought to himself "3 months . I will make it so that you can never leave me . "

After that talk, Kai Xin and DX went for another two rounds of exercise before she chased him away . DX was reluctant to leave but Kai Xin reassured him that she felt better now and that he is tiring her out .

"Am i just a sex toy to you?" He protested as she pushed him to the door . The little minx actually dared to laugh .

"Yes, your job here is done . Go back to the twins . They must be really upset by now . "

"They are kids . They would forget about this soon enough . "

"You only have so much time with them . Don't waste this opportunity . Don't make them resent you for your absence . I will see you soon"

Eventually, DX gave up arguing . After lunch, he went back to his house while Kai Xin went back to hers .
