Kai Xin glanced at DX to see if he would be fine with her telling the story.

When he smiled and patted the back of her head gently, she grinned.

She dramatically cleared her throat before starting the story of how they first met.

"On a stormy day, two men walked into the office that I was working in and stopped straight outside my office."

"As I was wondering whether to call the cops, my ex-boss came out to greet them. Turns out he is my ex-boss' friend and one of her clients."

"Your ex-boss?" asked Jane, "Is it Layla?"

Kai Xin nodded. She leaned back into her seat and chuckled,

"To be honest, the first time I saw him, I thought he was kind of a prick."

She glanced at the man who had the nerve to avoid her gaze.

He knew exactly why she thought of him as a prick.

"Why?" asked Mo Shaoyun curiously, "He's President Du! Everyone wants to meet him."

Kai Xin scoffed.

"He was acting so high and mighty that I just want to slap him up and down...,"

Kai Xin waited for DX to look up before asking, "...Do you want to tell them why?"

Feeling guilty, DX answered gruffly, "No."

She grinned and turned to her friends,

"This guy, the first thing he did was to order me around even though I told him clearly that I am not his assistant."

DX remembered. When he saw Kai Xin again at Layla's firm, he was really happy about it.

However, for someone who had girls thrown themselves at him since young, he was clueless when it came to courting.

All he wanted to do was to see her and talked to her. His way of doing so was by ordering her around.

Ordering people around used to get him whatever he wanted and all his previous girlfriends seemed to like that.

"Bring me the files."

"Call Layla now."

"Make me coffee."

"This is too bitter. Again."

"Too sweet. Again!"

Kai Xin who had been in a bad tempered since the day DX walked into the firm often glared at him.

However, DX had thought of it as affection and he thought his method was working.

As Layla's protege, she was forced to deal with the overbearing man whenever Layla's was away.

She thought of it as odd that he would always be at the firm whenever Layla was away, but Layla had dismissed it as "President Du being President Du".

However, after two weeks, Kai Xin had enough of the man.

She was busy with her work and this guy just waltzed into her office, sat on her couch and started to order her around.

"For the last time, President Du! I am NOT your servant. You have Mr. Han here! Ask him to bring you your coffee."

DX crossed his legs as he took a quick sweep around her office, "Han Ye is busy."

"He's just standing there!" snapped Kai Xin while pointing at Han Ye who was guarding the door.

"He's busy standing there."

Kai Xin cursed under her breath. It was like talking to a wall.

She opened a file and pretended to read it before saying in an exasperated tone,

"President Du, I am really busy today and I don't have the time nor the mood to deal with you. Layla would be back in about 2 hours. Please come back then."

When she heard no reply from him, she thought he had left. However, when she glanced up, he was right in front of her.

"Go on a date with me."

Kai Xin blinked. She thought she heard wrongly until he repeated the sentence again.

Outraged, she pushed him out of her room. Before she slammed the door shut, she snarled at him,

"I don't have the time for your childish game, President Du, and I don't do dates! Please leave me alone!"

DX had thought of breaking the door down but Layla would probably punish him for that.

There were two women who were not afraid of him. One was the one who birthed him. The other one was Layla.

He glanced at Kai Xin's door and hoped that she would be the third.

After debating internally about the pros and cons of forcing his way in, he decided to sit outside Kai Xin's room and torment everyone else.

Mo Shaoyun gasped, "You rejected President Du? What is wrong with you, Zhen Kai Xin?"

Kai Xin laughed, "Whether he is the president of a company or president of the country, he is still a man."

Jane rested her chin on the palms as she asked, "How did you two... you know. Your relationship..."

To her surprise, DX answered, "I sent her a contract."

When Kai Xin raised a brow at him, he ignored her and continued,

"Since she wouldn't answer to a normal proposal, I can only do it in a legal way. By discussing the terms and conditions."

Both Mo Shaoyun and Jane had the same thought, "How is that a normal proposal!!!"

Kai Xin smiled when she saw her friends face and guessed correctly what they were thinking about.

She picked up DX's hand and placed it on her thigh before saying,

"That's normal enough coming from him. The rest, as you know, is history."

Mo Shaoyun watched as the famous President Du looked at Kai Xin with love written all over.

As he took a bite of the otoro, he thought, "Is this really the same President Du who was famed for his ruthlessness?"

Kai Xin suddenly spoke up, "By the way, please keep the fact that I am a woman a secret."

Jane laughed, "Come to think of it, why are there news of President Du kissing a man?"

Kai Xin briefed her on her pranks and how it escalated, "To cut it short, we are going to try dating as men."

"And President Du is fine with that?" Jane glanced sheepishly as the man. She was still slightly afraid of him.

"He suggested it."

Mo Shaoyun fell off his chair when he heard that.

The idol in the business world was fine with doing this kind of thing and he was the one who suggested it?

He quickly dusted himself off and sat back on his chair as he nodded and thought to himself, "You really can't judge a book by its cover."
