Previously, whenever she had noticed that something was not right, Lu Meili would stop immediately. He always caused her to be caught off guard. Lu Meili mostly did not have a choice but to continue or ignore the mistake even if she noticed it from the very start.

Lu Meili could only grit her teeth as she led the way to the rainy and dangerous forest like she had been there before. 

"Hey? Is it too early make-out? How about just touching?" Long Cheng asked brightly. He did not seem to mind that he was chasing after her. He sounded like he was even enjoying it. 

"No? That's boring. We cannot be satisfied fully with just looking." He added as a matter of fact. 

Lu Meili scowled but did not reply. Instead, she sprinted away from him. 

"Oh! Wait for me!" Long Cheng yelled and chased after her. It did not take long for him to catch up with her, just like earlier. "Are we going back now?" He asked after realizing that they were on the trail towards the first entrance seal. 

"I am happy that you decided to go back." He continued, sounding delighted. "Now, going back to what we were talking earlier, I don't mind though, if you allowed me to stare while you are doing pole dancing, naked. After he said that, Lu Meili suddenly stopped walking and turned around to glare at him. Long Cheng had a bright smile on his face that he hid immediately the moment he noticed her glare. 

"Fun?" She asked sarcastically. "How long do you plan to talk nonsense?"

Long Cheng then tilted his head, curiously, "I am not talking nonsense. That will be awesome. Don't you think so?" He asked with faked innocence. 

She shook her head. Instead of replying, Lu Meili stared at Long Cheng thoughtfully. 

"Eh? What is it?" He asked again, now, genuinely confused. Long Cheng averted his eyes from her before coughing. He felt like a kid caught in doing something terrible. Then he felt her coming closer to him. 

Long Cheng returned his gaze to her and saw that she was already standing so close. He held her gaze as she did the same. 

This time her eyes were not bright green but chocolate brown. Regardless of the color of her eyes, as long as the apparent connection between them was there, Long Cheng would never complain, because she was his, no matter what or how. 

He reached out to touch her face, but Lu Meili stepped back. 

"What are you doing?" She asked suspiciously. 

How many times had she asked him this? It was starting to annoy Long Cheng. Was it too hard to understand that they were meant to be? Why she always thought that he will do something bad to her? 

"I am trying to touch my mate." He answered gravely through clenched teeth like it was a challenging thing to do.
