Chapter 744: Chapter 115 Dragon of Dawn Chapter 744: Chapter 115 Dragon of Dawn “Clang–”
Crassus tapped the table with the scepter in his claw, emitting a crisp metallic sound, like a bell being struck.
The top of the scepter lit up with the pale glow of the Polar Star, spreading a cold wind tinged with Bahamut's breath, instantly sweeping across the entire Hall of Justice, and making all the Golden Dragons present feel a shock in their hearts.
Those Young Gold Dragons attending the Golden Dragon Council for the first time were agape, their faces filled with surprise and awe.
While Cassius, observing the apparition of the Platinum Dragon and the vastness of the constellation before him, adopted a respectful demeanor, his heart had long coveted that scepter.
“This is… a genuine Divine Artifact, of a status far surpassing the gemstone snatched from the hands of that Old Silver Dragon.”
Feeling the strong and unceasing fluctuations of Divine Power, Cassius couldn't help but think this.
Crassus raised the scepter, and the cold wind suddenly dissipated without a trace, while he let out a deep and resonant voice, full of authority.
“In the name of Crassus, the current Golden Dragon Governor, I hereby declare–the 267th Golden Dragon Council has begun.”
This Ancient Golden Dragon looked around, his scrutinizing gaze passing over the Gold Dragons by the long table, before he continued speaking: “Ladies and gentlemen, the reason for convening this meeting on such short notice is to discuss certain issues the Material Plane is facing recently.”
“As you all know, after the downfall of Holy Fadlan, those entities that have lurked in darkness for hundreds of years… can no longer contain themselves.”
“Indeed, those Blue Dragons in the Brendan Desert have been very active lately.”
“The City of Thousand Laws has detected several newly opened Abyss Channels, all leading to the Material Plane.”
“We've discovered traces of the long-silent Dragon Worship Cult within the Kingdom of Seleucis, mingling with the Tiamat Church.”
“The Nine Prisons are restless as well, Devils have reappeared in the Material Plane.”
The Gold Dragons nodded in agreement, exchanging and sharing tales of disasters and difficulties they encountered.
And Cassius listened quietly, integrating news from Gold Dragons around the world, noting that under the butterfly effect of the Ashen Empire, these incidents have deviated significantly from the plotlines he remembered.
When ten Gold Dragons come together to discuss a matter, they can submit a proposal to Crassus to be openly voted on at the Golden Dragon Council and dispatch Gold Dragons of corresponding ability to handle the situation in an orderly manner.
According to traditions spanning tens of thousands of years, Gold Dragons in the very old stage have the right to make individual proposals, and Crassus, as Governor, holds a veto.
Soon, the first issue was brought up for public vote–it pertained to the Dragon Worship Cult.
Crassus, holding the scepter, waved it lightly, and lines of Draconic script appeared on the long table, containing the details of the mission.
“Gathering intelligence on the Dragon Worship Cult requires at least three adult Gold Dragons…”
“Lord Crassus, I reside within the Kingdom of Seleucis; I should be able to complete this mission.”
“Grandfather, I am willing to accept this mission.”
“For the glory of the Lord of the Northwind, I will delve into enemy territory to investigate the intelligence!”
These Gold Dragons, naturally inclined towards upholding justice and judging evil, volunteered eagerly, undertaking the responsibilities befitting of Good Dragons.
One by one, matters to be dealt with around the world were brought to the table; disasters and evil entities that others shunned became clear targets in the eyes of the Gold Dragons.
It is said that some audacious Gold Dragons would intentionally disguise themselves as helpless victims like women and children, using themselves as bait to lure any nearby evil beings into an ambush, pioneering the concept of “sting operations.”
The meeting lasted a full three days and nights, as the Gold Dragons exchanged intelligence, almost bringing all of Fianso's evil forces under their jurisdiction–except for the Ashen Empire.
“That's odd…”
Cassius stroked his chin whiskers, puzzled.
According to the moral standing of Gold Dragons, his Ashen Empire should undoubtedly be classified as an “evil force.” Why hadn't the Governor mentioned it yet?
From the discussions of the other Gold Dragons, he had indeed heard the Ashen Empire's name mentioned, but Crassus had not made it a mission issue.
Next to him, an Ancient Gold Dragon named Samuel showed considerable warmth, seemingly fond of this unfamiliar kin: “Lord Titus, I've even heard of your deeds in the south of the continent, the tales spun by those Human Bards are quite amusing.”
Across the long table, the Ancient Gold Dragon Elliot also remarked: “Dawn Wings, Dragon of Dawn, descending from the heavens, alone you slew Gush's Favored and repelled the attack of hundreds of thousands of Orcs…”
Cassius shook his head slightly, twirling his chin whiskers, while responding with a polite smile.
“Ah, you flatter me, Lord Samuel. That is but an exaggeration by mortals.
I wasn't fighting alone. The contributions of my allies should not go unnoticed. In that battle against Gush's Favored, both the King of High Mountains from Black Stone Mountain and the Twilight Blade from Serinia played significant roles…”
“Clang–”
Just then, Crassus struck the scepter again, and all the Gold Dragons immediately quieted down, listening attentively to the Governor's speech.
The Ancient Golden Dragon looked around and then continued, “In addition to the issues addressed in this meeting, there is another matter–a special request for assistance from a being who once graced our Golden Dragon Clan, the current Duke of North Aisier, Walter Graham.”
Samuel seemed to recall something, speaking softly: “I remember that name… Isn't that the Divine Descendant Noble who rescued Tatiana from Hell decades ago?”
