Chapter 726: Chapter 105 Ashen Empire's Emperor and Devil_2 Chapter 726: Chapter 105 Ashen Empire's Emperor and Devil_2 The Devil Organization has a way with language and quickly set forth a new code of conduct for themselves–flatter as much as possible and display their value to others.
Albert brewed his emotions for a moment, squeezed out a sycophantic smile, and then began to recite like a Bard.
“The most exalted Ashen Empire's Emperor, the supreme ruler of all creatures in Anzeta, the one and only master of this land–oh great His Majesty Cassius, please forgive my impudence, your body is as majestic as mountains…”
“Enough, Devil, I've told you before, don't play with flowery language in front of me. Do you think I'm like those of our kind whose heads are filled with nothing but muscle?”
Cassius let out a cold laugh, decisively interrupting the Devil's improvisation, while also musing to himself that, in the art of verbal sparring, even a Hell Demon might not match up to me who possesses the [Smooth Talker].
“Dare not, dare not, it was just an emotional outburst, I truly cannot restrain the reverence in my heart…”
The Devil, trapped within the goat's head, quickly lowered his head to the extreme, humbly touching the ground with his nose.
But just then, Chimera, previously as docile as a kitten at the side, took control of the body, kneeling before Cassius, and its Dragon head fiercely said, “Master, don't be deceived by this pretentious Devil!”
The lion head chimed in at the opportunity, “Yes! This Devil wants us to revolt! Luckily, we resisted the temptation, but that ignorant goat…”
Cassius was amused by Chimera's act, a grin spreading across his face as he looked at the goat's head with a gaze that was full of pressure, “Devil, is that true?”
Albert was just about to defend himself when he heard the Emperor's chilling words.
“If you dare deceive me, I will burn your filthy soul to ashes, ensuring you will never be able to reincarnate in Hell.”
Under that oppressive gaze, the seasoned Devil felt almost suffocated, and managed to squeeze out a smile, rigidly saying, “Objectively… that is the case.”
“Can this be interpreted as Piere declaring war on me?”
Cassius's question terrified Albert. If he truly provoked such an enemy, his Master would surely put him through eternal torment.
The Devil immediately broke into a cold sweat, hastily explaining in an attempt to remedy the situation, “Your Majesty Cassius, please don't misunderstand, I was compelled to act…
It's all, all because of–blame Zareel! Yes, that insane woman shamelessly stole the position of My Lord Piere as the Master of Avernus, forcing us to scurry about seeking a powerful existence to fill our ranks and seek Revenge.
I used deceptive sweet talk to tempt Lord Chimera, just because–your Retainers are unbelievably powerful!”
The Devil said all this with tears and emotion, sounding exceptionally sincere.
Cassius unconsciously twitched the corner of his mouth, inwardly exclaiming that, truly worthy of being a Devil whose livelihood is based on scamming and deceit, even he would find it hard to match in the art of sophistry.
However, despite Albert's rationale being cobbled together and somewhat contrived, the topic was steered towards the direction Cassius wanted to see.
Thus, the Red Dragon slowly rose from the throne, his majestic face revealing an interested expression, and the dim golden light in his vertical pupils flickering.
“Zareel?”
“It seems I have something to discuss with your master. The enemy of my enemy is my friend, and my Ashen Empire… also has some conflicts entanglement with her.”
Albert's eyes suddenly lit up, exclaiming with great joy, “His Majesty Cassius, as I said, this was all just a small misunderstanding, in essence, it's all because of that damned insane woman… I'll immediately contact Lord Piere for you!”
The Devil's joy was evident in his words. As the embodiment of evil order, their lifelong goal is to ascend, and Albert is but a high-ranking Devil.
And if he could help his master find such a powerful ally, capable of standing against Zareel, his status would certainly rise a level.
It seemed like he remembered something, the Devil's eyes darted about as he spoke with a pleading tone: “Your Majesty, could you… let me out first?
To inhabit this noble body that flows with Dragon Blood, as an insignificant Devil like myself… I truly do not deserve such fortune.”
However, Cassius laughed and said: “Heh, I have always believed in judging the matter at hand separately, you have yet committed the crimes of trespassing the Empire and enticing citizens to defect, which have yet to be offset.
Now that Chimera has lost one of his personas, it would be appropriate for you to become Chimera's 'Wisdom' for the next few centuries as a way to atone.”
Albert felt instant despair and regretted entering the Ashen Empire, but he still harbored a sliver of luck. Although he could not confront the Emperor, controlling the foolish Chimera seemed like no difficult feat to a Devil.
But Cassius narrowed his eyes and continued: “Besides… as long as you are in this body, the life and death of your soul would be at my whim, so think carefully.”
“Your Majesty Cassius, but…”
“Devil, there are no buts, this is what you deserve, continue to contact Piere for me.”
Under the signal from the Red Dragon, Chimera relinquished control of the body, but the Devil who had taken over the body he had long desired was not pleased. Under the scrutiny of Cassius, he cautiously began to draw the Array.
Soon, an elaborate Formation based on the Hexagram appeared on the floor, emitting an evil twisted aura, decorated with odd sacrificial items like Mermaid Oil candles, Soul Coins, Hell Stone Eggs, and skulls.
The candles were lit, and the ritual to summon the demon began.
All at once, layers upon layers of shrill screeches filled the Royal Palace, echoing the wails and cries of countless sinful souls.
“Sinful souls will eventually plunge into Hell–”
“He is the Master of Avernus, the nightmare of mortals, the Flame that extinguishes hope–”
However, Cassius merely snapped his fingers, and the surroundings fell silent, the grand operatic sounds disappearing.
“Quite noisy…” said the Red Dragon.
Following that, the Hexagram Formation suddenly lit up, countless sparks soared skyward, Hellfire blazed furiously, with numerous tongues of fire rampantly bursting forth, forming a ferocious and massive silhouette of a Devil.
But at the moment the demonic shadow saw the Red Dragon, all flames and dark mist promptly retreated, transforming into a handsome, well-dressed young man with black hair.
He appeared graceful and hardly a villain, but the pitch-black pupils still betrayed his identity – a Devil, and a terrifying Great Devil who was once a Hell Lord, Piere.
Piere bowed slightly as a greeting: “I had wondered who was summoning me, it turns out to be you.”
He revealed a rather amiable smile, his voice deep and captivating: “I've long admired your name; it is indeed rude of me, respected Lord of the North, His Imperial Majesty of the Ashen Empire, those before… were just scare tactics for mortals.”
But Cassius felt an extremely terrifying presence from Hell in the “grand entrance” that had just occurred, that was not accidentally but a deliberate display of power.
“You know my name?”
Facing an existence that could barely be considered an equal, Cassius stood up, slightly spreading his wings, nodding in a salute: “Good day, Hell Lord… Lord Piere.”
