After The Abyss Dragon Woke Up Chapter 1.2

Before Shi An could respond, his hand was abruptly grabbed by the teacher. 

At that instant, Shi An's pitch-black pupils narrowed into a line; a scorching dark red colour burned silently in the pupils' depth, making the eyes look inhuman.

Shi An blinked and his eyes returned to normal. He looked at the teacher gripping his hand and asked: “What's wrong?”

The teacher repeatedly and meticulously examined the young boy's hands, his nose almost touching the palms. So thorough was the examination that it looked like the teacher wanted to break open and look inside each palm print. But after three minutes of examination, the teacher found nothing. Frustrated, the teacher raised his head and aggressively demanded: “You did something to your hands right? You cheated, didn't you?”

Hearing those questions, a troubled look appeared on Shi An's face.

“Why did you take your gaze away from your hands during the test just now! Tell me!” The teacher demanded, thinking he caught hold of something.

Shi An's gaze became unfocused for a moment. He was silent for a few seconds before finally saying in a low voice: “……they're too ugly.”

“What?” The teacher looked shocked.

“I feel my hands are too ugly.”

The teacher reflexively looked at Shi An's hands.

Shi An's slightly curled fingers looked pale and delicate. His phalanges were slender, the digits were supple, his manicured nails gleamed with a healthy pink colour, and the grab marks from earlier could even be seen on the back of his hands. No matter how you looked at it, this was a very beautiful hand.

“……” What kind of weird reason is that!? 

In the end, Shi An was allowed to leave due to insufficient evidence.

Shi An stood at the door entrance and stared at his hand. The fingers that were considered beautiful by humans slowly curled into a fist then opened up again. Curled, then opened. These are definitely my hands. With that confirmation, he wilted like a frosted eggplant. 

It's ugly, really very ugly. Genuinely beautiful talons should be covered in pitch-black scales and the tips sharp enough to slice mountains and rocks. Not like the hands now, all soft and delicate with ugly white colour, as though even a thorn can puncture it. 

With that in mind, Shi An turned his gaze away from his hands again. Right now, he very much missed his majestic and powerful body, his long and pitch-black tail and——his cave of treasures. 

Shi An sighed. Fifty thousand years ago, he fell asleep on top of his treasures since he was bored. However, when he woke up, not only was he trapped inside a weak and unfamiliar human form, all his treasures had also disappeared! Thousands of years of hard work and one night return me to pre-liberation——my body and treasures are all gone too! Gone!

In order to find out what exactly happened, Shi An followed the human rescuers to the Shi family. After he returned home, the Shi family had been following his every move, as if afraid he might run away again. As a result, he was now trapped in human society and had to impersonate the owner of this body he was in.

……What's more, I was even dragged here to touch this weird ball. So bothersome. Shi An, immersed in his thoughts, started walking out of the plaza with his head down.

The students outside are all staring at Shi An with various expressions——everyone heard the sharp alarm, but most of them did not understand what had happened; very few people understood what that alarm meant. The tester's magic power was greater than the magic detection equipment's range? How is that possible! The equipment must have malfunctioned!

Shi An, used to being in the spotlight, was oblivious to the stares and continued walking out of the plaza, leaving that crowd of people behind. Outside the plaza, the car fetching Shi An was already waiting at the entrance. Shortly after Shi An sat down on the car seat, the Shi family's old butler gazed at him from the rearview mirror. “Young master, how was the test?”

The old butler's eyes were bright and hot with desperate hope. Shi An recalled for a second and said: “ The ball lit up.”

Hearing that, the old butler could not believe his ears and was stunned at first; then his entire body froze up.

“Are you alright?”

Shi An had pretty much figured out what kind of life this human “Shi An” was living during these few months at the Shi's estate. This human “Shi An” does not have a close relationship with his family. Shi An's question jolted the old butler out of his frozen state to finally grasp what Shi An had said earlier. The old butler was overjoyed for Shi An and excitedly said: “Previously the old master said that if you are able to pass the magic detection test, he will include you in the successor list again and hold a banquet for your school enrolment as per tradition……”

Banquet? Food?

A lot, a lot of food!

Shi An's eyes lighted up and he obediently accepted: “Alright.”

The old butler glanced at the rearview mirror and saw the expressionless young master sitting comfortably at the back in a noticeable happy mood. Oh, what a sensible child! The old butler internally sighed and quietly wiped some tears.
